"Hundreds of 'radicalized' kids rampaged through the halls of a Queens high school this week for nearly two hours after they discovered a teacher had attended a pro-Israel rally..."

"... forcing the terrified educator to hide in a locked office as the teen mob tried to push its way into her classroom.... The mayhem at Hillcrest High School in Jamaica unfolded shortly after 11 a.m. Monday in what students called a pre-planned protest over the teacher’s Facebook profile photo showing her at a pro-Israel rally on Queens Oct. 9 holding a poster saying, 'I stand with Israel.' 'The teacher was seen holding a sign of Israel, like supporting it,' a senior told The Post.... 'Everyone was screaming "(The teacher) needs to go!"' a ninth-grader said. 'They want her fired.'"

Sit those students in homeroom for a week writing, "I will respect the rights of other people.", neatly and legibly at least 1,000 times per day. If they finish early. They are to sit silently with their hands folded on top of the desk. 10 minute breaks every 50 minutes, but they must remain silent during break. Failure to complete these tasks requires repeating the current grade next school year.

They should be expelled and arrested. They will not be punished. It is perfectly okay to attack and intimidate Jews or their supporters because they are colonialist oppressors. Also, decent and responsible (dare I use the word civilized?) behavior cannot be expected from Hamas supporters (and let's not delude ourselves on this point, pro-Palestinian = pro-Hamas). Is this because as the designated victim class they are considered honorary blacks, and so are not held to the same standards as Jews? Or is it because of their very low average IQs that they. The odd thing is that many pro-Hamas supporters are well off whites who aren't especially stupid, just ignorant and bigoted. Yet they still get treated largely with the same low standards used for actual Palestinians.

The administration should ask each rioter to point to Israel on a map. The ones who can't are just interested in a good riot. The students who can, incited the riot. Punish them appropriately.

Oh, this assumes that Admin will bother identifying the students participating.

The teacher can't stay at that school, so should be transferred to any school in NYC that is appealing.

The rest of the staff is watching to see what Admin does. Teachers expect a reasonably safe work environment.

In 1969, Bernardine Dohrn and 24 compatriots took off their shirts and bras and tried to incite the students at some randomly chosen Pennsylvania high school.

The students were not impressed. Dohrn had just returned from Cuba, where she met with North Vietnamese and Cuban communists. Some time later, she also met with PLO leaders. A Jew herself, she has endorsed the destruction of Israel throughout her life.

Years later, she lobbied successfully for rules in Chicago that made it illegal to suspend minority students for any behavior, even beating peers and teachers. These rules, some applying to all students, some only minorities, spread and spelled the end of discipline throughout troubled schools in the nation.

200 kids rioting? We ain't seen nothing yet. Get your kids out of public schools today. And save their good teachers too.

It's been a long time coming, and an even longer time for anybody to bother to notice it. It is not going away.

You must be kidding. The school is 30% black, 30% hispanic, 30% asian and 3% white. If you think they are going to sit in a room quietly you are not taking the temperature of the room. No way, they would just beat up the person trying to sit them down. The only choice is to expel them but they won't because:
1. They are black or hispanic.
2. They want the money that the blacks or hispanics bring in.

Not much use in calling the cops. NYPD cops are leaving the force at insane levels as crime in New York City continues to worsen.

Over 2500 cops have left the force this year, 43% higher than the amount who left in 2018 before the pandemic.

Cops ditching the force before they hit their 20 year mark for full pensions has also skyrocketed, up 104% since 2020.

NYC, much like every democrat-controlled large city, is turning into a violent hell-hole. The solution by its political leaders is to increase taxes on both businesses and individuals. No services are provided for those additional taxes. Corruption and crime is rampant. Smart people and competently-run businesses should be making plans to escape now, before it is too late.

Mike S.: There are multiple disturbing tic tocs and photos at the Post story linked in this post. They were laughing, and, like the Palestinian animals, eager to show the world what they were doing. Police command says they would not have called out their special riot teams if it was not a dangerous riot. The filters also distributed pictures of the teacher and called her a "cracker ass bitch" and called for her death. So, they should be identified by the volumes of images, and charged with rioting, attempted murder, anti-white and anti-Semitic hate crimes, destruction of property, attacking police and teachers, and resisting arrest. Then expelled.

None of this will happen.

Why? Ball back to you.

It is almost impossible to expel a student nowadays. Most every state has a law or a constitutional provision guaranteeing a right to education, and in practice that usually means that no matter how badly the student behaves, the school system is stuck with him/her. Expulsion is a long process requiring copious documentation. Though if school is unpleasant enough to the student, and (s)he is old enough, (s)he may simply drop out.

A decade plus ago I did some historical renderings and illustrations of an IDF (Israeli Defense Force) Centurion tank with the proper unit markings showing it had fought on the Golan Heights in that famous stand of the Israeli tankers. The picture was also adorned by the Israeli Star of David flag. This was done for a young fellow teacher who's grandfather(?) came out of that battle alive. When I finished it I displayed it in my classroom for a day out of pride for my rendering. My students were inner city kid and refugees and immigrants, a fair number of the Muslim. Not a peep of indignation or disproval across the six class periods. The girls were completely uninterested and the boys wanted me to draw Fast and Furious cars they liked. What a difference a decade makes.

A 21st-century-type riot raises a 21st-century-type question.
I looked up Hillcrest online and the reality of the school is somewhat different from the barbarian image its antisemites projected on TiKTok. It is a magnet school for STEM excellence in a "sparsely populated" section of NYC (aka the burbs) and is 28% Asian. Its other demographics are 25% black, 36% Hispanic, 3% White. Almost everyone graduates and about 78% go to college. 80% are proficient in math and only 30% in English. So this a revolt out in the burbs among the college bound. Looking at college, more go to CUNY Hunter than anywhere else. Hunter was formerly strongly Jewish but now is only 10% Jewish. For months the Jewish students have been reporting antisemitism on campus. Graduates of Hillcrest HS likely have been carrying back from Hunter to their Hillcrest high school friends and relations the word that in college you do antisemitism - or some do. Next thing you know, college bound kids from the burbs, heading for a college infected with antisemitism start an antisemitic riot (horrible.) So consider this. Perhaps this was, in the eyes of the students, nothing but a resume building type activity for college admissions. College admissions is an activity more deeply interesting to the burbs than anything else and one which is going on right now. Was that it?

I knew what guns were for and I knew what sneakers were for but had no idea what the proper nouns meant. And yet I remember it to this day. Make of that what you will but I think it does not bode well for anyone.

It’s telling to me that the word hate has been supplanted by specific examples, implying that certain kinds of hate, or specific targets of hate are acceptable.

How to argue like (or rather as) a weasel:

Say that "500 kids have been killed in Ukraine" as if both sides were killing kids, or they'd died of hunger or cold rather than bullets, when in fact over 500 kids have been murdered by the Russian armed forces in Ukraine, most by bombs and missiles aimed at civilian neighborhoods, but some shot dead at short range or tortured to death in Russian prisons.

After that, just to show you only use euphemisms for Russian, say "Israel has killed 3,500" when in fact all civilians were repeatedly given specific instructions on where to go to stay out of the way of the violence. Any actual Gazan kids killed died because their parents chose to ignore the warnings or Hamas forced them to stay in the north. And some of the under-18s killed were - like many of the prisoners Israel is trading for hostages - actively fighting for Hamas. Recruiting under-18s as soldiers is a war-crime. Killing them when they try to kill you is not a war-crime. All of the deaths of "kids" in Gaza are on the head of Hamas. And only a damned fool believes the number is anywhere near 3,500.

A commenter writes that in Ukraine 500 children were killed in Ukraine but 3500 in Gaza.
1.Hamas has been in power since 2009. Why hasn't it built any (any!) shelters for the people of Gaza. When the RAF launched attacks against Berlin in summer of 1940, Hitler was furious and ordered the building of lots of shelters (far better than those available in the Blitz). If Hitler could care about the people of Berlin, why doesn't Hamas care about the people of Gazaz?
2. Who says it is 3500 children in Gaza? Hamas? After the hospital fiasco, any Hamas numbers are now known to be lies.
3. Who says they were children? Maybe they were teens, late teens.
4. IDF gave people plenty of warning and time to move out.
5. If your Govt launches an assault on civilians which includes videoing rape, murder, and the casualties include babies roasted to death, and then seizure of hostages - all contrary to the laws of war, then you will get pushback.

BTW - Many of these racists have bolstered their racist claims by bringing up Hamas' 1988 charter, without mentioning Hamas changed it in 2017. WIKIPEDIA:

"The 2017 charter accepted for the first time the idea of a Palestinian state within the borders that existed before 1967 and rejected recognition of Israel, which it terms as the "Zionist enemy".[2] It advocates such a state as transitional but also advocates the "liberation of all of Palestine".[14][15] The new document also states that the group does not seek war with the Jewish people but only against Zionism which it holds responsible for "occupation of Palestine".[16] Mashal also stated that Hamas was ending its association with the Muslim Brotherhood."

I try to ignore the so called factual links Crack, provides because they are routinely worthless and prove nothing. That's why I don't bother to address them. When, for example, I linked to a page of letters by Einstein to demonstrate that Crack had misinterpreted a quote from Einstein, by insisting that Einstein's concerns were an opposition to the existence of the State of Israel when he had merely expressed concerns, some weeks later Crack came up with more quotes from Einstein slanted to misrepresent other things Einstein had written and expressed.

In the world of Hamas supporters, which Crack apparently celebrates, there are no doubters, and anyone who expresses misgivings about Hamas gets killed. That's why Hamas supporters appear so confident. No opposition opinions are tolerated.

Furthermore, after Crack's assertions are addressed and refuted he remains committed to his anti-Israel position, unmoved by contradicting facts or reason. Yet he is frustrated that his assertions are ignored or mocked. For example, he just mentioned the bombing of the King David Hotel as terrorism, as if that is a revelation or proof about Israel in general. It's not a revelation, that act was universally condemned as terrorism, and it did not represent the majority of Israelis fighting for independence, nor those in positions of responsibility; the act was thoroughly condemned at the time and the group responsible was outlawed in August,1948. But Crack doesn't bother to mention that part of the history.

Maybe Crack is deliberately misrepresenting history or he only researches long enough to gain something useful to attack Israel and he ignores everything which is not useful. Crack's attempt to appear informative is a little juvenile and pathetic, which is probably why he is tolerated. If what you are looking for is an abridged collection of disingenuously picked historical references to denigrate Israel and the early Zionists, then Crack is your source. But you will remain seriously misinformed and ignorant and bigoted.

And Gaza is not "the most densely packed place on Earth". You don't even have to do any arithmetic to check this: Wikipedia includes population density in its descriptions of places. Manhattan is ~4.4 times more densely populated than the Gaza Strip (74,780.7 persons per square mile versus 16,853.1). A glance at Google Maps with the terrain feature turned on shows that there are substantial open areas in Gaza as well.

Will any of the students face criminal charges? Doubtful. The three middle school students in Kiel, WI, were facing felony charges for misgendering a classmates preferred pronouns, but the charges have been dropped:

The Kiel Area School District “closed” a Title IX complaint and investigation against three middle school boys who were accused of sexual harassment for using “incorrect pronouns” when referencing a classmate.

Just after charges were filed, the school is said to have received bomb threats. Of course, these things have to be taken seriously, but the school board's reaction was to cancel all extracurricular activities for the rest of the year. The threats were not real as no bombs were found.

Reaction to the school board was mixed. This from "non-partisan" Wisconsin Watch:

Tired of turmoil, Kiel residents rebuke far-right school officials

"Rebuking far-right officials who last year gained control of their school board, concerned residents of Kiel, Wisconsin, this month clawed back political power by blocking the ouster of a popular superintendent.

Two members subsequently resigned from the Kiel Area School District board, returning the usually seven-member body to a moderate majority — at least temporarily.

It’s the latest chapter in a saga that last spring erupted into bomb threats and left some feeling their northeastern Wisconsin community, population 4,000, had been “hijacked by something bigger.

The 2017 Hamas charter, cited inscrutably above to support the wild-child rampage, contains the following relevant provisions, https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/hamas-2017-document-of-general-principles-and-policies:

"19. There shall be no recognition of the legitimacy of the Zionist entity. Whatever has befallen the land of Palestine in terms of occupation, settlement building, judaisation or changes to its features or falsification of facts is illegitimate. Rights never lapse.

20. Hamas believes that no part of the land of Palestine shall be compromised or conceded, irrespective of the causes, the circumstances and the pressures and no matter how long the occupation lasts. Hamas rejects any alternative to the full and complete liberation of Palestine, from the river to the sea. However, without compromising its rejection of the Zionist entity and without relinquishing any Palestinian rights, Hamas considers the establishment of a fully sovereign and independent Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital along the lines of the 4th of June 1967, with the return of the refugees and the displaced to their homes from which they were expelled, to be a formula of national consensus.

21. Hamas affirms that the Oslo Accords and their addenda contravene the governing rules of international law in that they generate commitments that violate the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. Therefore, the Movement rejects these agreements and all that flows from them, such as the obligations that are detrimental to the interests of our people, especially security coordination (collaboration)."

So, yeah, no recognition and full liberation from river to sea -- an antisemitic, exterminationist program. Perfectly clear, then, why some individuals are so enthused about youthful marauding Hamasniks.

Dr Weevil said...

I'm the "moron"? The Israeli Armed Forces warned Gazans to go to the south of the Gaza Strip, not the north, and the northern zone is less than half (looks like 35-40%) of the total area. So the safe area is still ~15 times larger than the Los Angeles airport, and ~2 2/3 times larger than Manhattan. By the way, between 200,000 and 500,000 Israelis have also been evacuated from their homes along the Gaza Strip and Lebanon borders to avoid violence: Israeli is trying to minimize civilian casualties on both sides of the border, while Hamas does their worst to maximize them.

Too bad I'm arguing with someone who's a moron, a liar, and an asshole, all wrapped up into one stinky package.

Of course, I only point out his fraudulent arguments to warn others who might fall for them. He's utterly unteachable.

By the way, the number of kids murdered by Russia in Ukraine is far more than 500. See here, for instance. Total civilian deaths in Mariupol were at least 25,000, possibly as high as 100,000, but the Russians have been bulldozing bombed buildings to make sure the bodies can never be counted, much less identified. Many of them were children. They have also kidnapped at least 19,000 Ukrainian kids - and hundreds of thousands of adults - and taken them to Russia to try to turn them into good Russians. The fact is that Russia is doing to Ukraine what Hamas is trying to do to Israel.
