The attack in Israel is shocking. I hope Israel declares war and says never again.
I wonder if the Mexican cartels might try something like this someday, and that will be the impetus for the Southern border final solution.

Weakness is provocative and Joe Biden is the weakest (and most corrupt) President in US history.

More bad things in store for us.

My music streaming sometimes takes me to some strange places. Yesterday, I was listening to the Jello Biafra & Mojo Nixon album Prairie Home Invasion. The last song on the album is "Plastic Jesus." I was curious about other versions of the song, as well as the origin. Wikipedia informed me that the song was written in 1957 by Ed Rush and George Cromarty, and recorded by them as an ad parody as The Goldcoast Singers in 1962.

The Goldcoast Singers - Plastic Jesus (1962)

The second recording of the song came in 1965, by Ernie Marrs and the Marrs Family, with substantially different lyrics, which are the ones that Jello Biafra sang in his cover of the song in 1994.

The Marrs Family - Plastic Jesus (1965)

In 1967, Paul Newman sang the song in the movie Cool Hand Luke. The Marrs Family version also was heard elsewhere in the movie.

Paul Newman - Cool Hand Luke - "Plastic Jesus"

And then I found the most interesting version, in my opinion, recorded by Christiana Wallman, known professionally as Tia Blake (1953-2015). She was born in Columbus, Georgia and grew up in North Carolina. After high school, she worked for six months at a publishing house in New York, then went to Paris, where she was somehow discovered and signed a recording contract with a French record label and made her only album, Folksongs and Ballads, by Tia Blake and Her Folk-Group, which contained public domain American and Irish folk songs. They performed a single concert in Paris in support of the album, and that was it. I ended up listening to the entire album, as well as a second album of demos and outtakes, and was quite impressed. For some reason, there are two YouTube videos of this song, with a combined total of 876K views; it must have been used in some popular movie or television show to attract so many views, especially for a song from an obscure folk album that wasn't even released in the U.S. in 1971. Her vocals on this song reminded me a bit of Gillian Welch. Again, the lyrics are somewhat different than previous versions of the song.

There will be no more sunrises for a young woman named Shani Louk, a German citizen who had been visiting Israel to attend the music festival for peace held near the Gaza border fence. Her nude body was paraded about on the back of a truck by Palestinians chanting “Allahu Akbar.” If Muslims want to convince me that they are not subhuman, then they are going about it wrong.

A development in the Ryan Carson murder case:

The girlfriend of slain New York City activist Ryan Carson was unable to identify the teen charged in his caught-on-camera stabbing — a development that could complicate the case, legal experts told The Messenger on Friday.

During Brian Dowling's arraignment, Brooklyn prosecutor Jordan Rossman said Carson's eyewitness girlfriend "mis-picked" his alleged killer when shown a group of photographs, the New York Daily News reported.

“She picked a different person than the defendant out of the photo array," Rossmann said Thursday evening in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

So is this an honest mistake? Or is she one of those liberals for whom all black guys look alike? Or, third possibility, keeping in mind that she has expressed antipathy towards the police, is this a deliberate error?

@Bariweiss : You are about to withstand a barrage of lies about the war that broke out today in Israel.

Some of those lies will be explicit. Some of them will be lies of omission. Others will be lies of obfuscation. Or lies of minimization. Lies told by people who are simply too afraid to look at such a barbarous reality. And lies told by people whose true beliefs are too ugly to quite say aloud. Turn on cable news and you can hear some of them right now.

So let’s get some facts straight.

@CBS_Herridge : “Sources tell CBS News there is no indication former President Trump shared sensitive records with an Australian billionaire + no charges have been filed by the Special Counsel through their alleged discussion about US Nuclear subs was investigated.”

Straight up lying about Trump is from the old playbook. Sadly, that stuff works. Some people will believe it and possibly even become jurors in a trial with the former president as a defendant.

Notice how the press jumps into action to instantly flood the zone with live, on-scene coverage of an actual war, as opposed to the money-laundering operation occurring in Ukraine that CNN doesn't even cover.

"But this is what does happen when a nation is distracted with lesser things and internal squabbles. This is what happens when you don’t have total control over your border. This is what happens when evil is rewarded, even if by your “friend(s).” This is what happens when your opponent or enemy doesn’t believe you will retaliate in a truly devastating fashion because it believes you to be worried about what others might think.

In many cases, you also get what you vote for — and therefore deserve. Unfortunately, there is nearly always “collateral damage” — in this case, the lives and fortunes of others. Trump would not have sent another $6 billion to Iran recently. Nor would he have left countless billions of dollars of excellent American military equipment in Afghanistan for the use and edification of the Taliban. (It is also highly likely that the Ukraine-Russia War would either not have occurred or been much shorter in duration if Trump were still in office.)"

Glad I wasn't the only one to notice....

"What's sour and hollow about this greeting, though, is not just that Obama can't hold a candle to the kind of courage Mohammadi has shown, but that no one did more to undermine Iran's freedom fighters and their "Persian spring" green revolution than Obama did during his sorry presidency.

Back in 2009, when Mohammadi was marching in the streets, protesting election fraud, and demanding freedom for Iran, Obama abandoned them and their struggle, all because of his ambition to forge a deal with Iran over its nuclear weapons.

Now Obama is offering the new Nobel laureate praise, joining the crowd, showing us all what a nice guy he is.

Pay no attention to how he abandoned these Iranians to their fate 13 years ago.

He has hollow pretty words for the democracy fighters -- and cold hard cash for their oppressors."

It has been reported Hamas penetrated Israel's southern border up to 10-12 miles. An obvious failure of the most sophisticated intelligence agency in the world.

Ever wonder if any wayward terrorists are coming across our southern border? I do.

Meanwhile, US President Nero and his crack FBI agency are investigating the Catholic church and parents at school board meetings.

I don't understand why everyone wasn't expecting something like this on the 50-year anniversary of the Yom Kippur War. If I was in Israeli leadership I would have had the military and police on high alert this weekend.
