"And if they weren't exhilarated by this challenge to the monopoly of violence, by this shifting of the balance of power, then they would not be human. I was exhilarated."

Said a Cornell professor — who calls himself a "historian of the Black radical tradition" — quoted in "WATCH: Cornell Professor Says Hamas Atrocities Were 'Exhilarating'" (Washington Free Beacon).

To "exhilarate" is "To make cheerful or merry; to cheer, enliven, gladden" (OED). It has the same root as "hilarity."

Make no mistake....the "power" he finds so exhilarating is the indiscriminate slaughter of the elderly, and the young, as young as infants. What he supports is the burning of whole families in their home alive. What is so empowering the targeting of the young at a music festival.

Serial Killers do it because of the feeling of exhilaration.

Remember parents. This guy is not a loner in the Professors lounge. The college has a hundred more just like him

Yah- that feeling is more common than Americans want. That’s why we see Democrats tap into those feelings with BLM, with point blank murders of police, why there are Soros prosecutors letting authorizing criminals to commit crimes, violent crimes. When you’ve been targeted with injustice you like the payback…in this context however we have the problem that one side demands the other cannot exist which makes this prof’s comments quite unsavory. Profs unacceptable behavior will of course go unpunished.

No profs will be harmed in the making if this hate…

Jim5301 -- you make two statements.

One is on the right track but fails to comprehend the scale of the harm done. Academia doesn't have one or a thousand or ten thousand of these types.

Academia is a unipolar invading army manufacturing generations of these types. As Victor Davis Hanson says eloquently in FrontPageMag today, academia has "de facto destroyed the First Amendment." Also check out David Horowitz' epic essay, "Genocide," with which you may agree. No, I am not paid by them to recommend their work, nor do I work for them. Quite the opposite. It's just concise, accurate information.

As far as your endorsement of the trans movement for children, puberty blockers and surgery, consider a few things:

--With the exception of Canada, which has become a parody of Canada except not funny, every credible Western nation has either entirely closed or is the process of closing their clinics performing Werths/Mengele medical and surgical mutilation of children.

--Sadly, we lag a bit behind. Why? Reality television.

--Just try watching the episondes of "I Am Jazz" where the son/daughter's mentally ill, Munchausens by Proxy mother threatens to force a dildo up her son/daughter's "neovagina" because if said youth doesn't do this for an hour or hours daily for the rest of his/her life, the "neovagina" will require a fourth, fifth, sixth or so on surgery (there have been several already) to "correct" it, ie. keep an open wound made from either colon or prostate tissue from closing, which can also cause deadly infections, including fistulas.

You can look that one up.

Maybe somebody should be bombing us.

Stopping the normal human progression through puberty isn't gender affirming treatment, it's more in line with medical experimental suppression in support of gender affirming cosmetics.

The "Black radical tradition". I wish he'd define his heroes and that tradition in more detail. Mengistu certainly qualifies as radical. He was the Marxist dictator of Ethiopia from 1977 to 1991. Estimates of the number of people he killed vary widely, but it was definitely on a scale that qualifies as genocide. While many of the deaths were due to famine, a great many others were performed under more exhilarating circumstances. If the professor just means the American domestic scene, there were many exhilarating murders in the history of the Black Panther Party.
Perhaps he could reminisce about those good old days...This professor seems like a pretty awful human being. He's just tangential now, but so were all those Russian intellectuals who lived in exile for all those years.

BTW, its funny we get this sort of article about those people supporting Hamas, and not those supporting the Israelis and talking about "wiping out those towel heads" or "ethnicially cleansing the Gaza Strip" because we just live with those "animals". I just listened to a clip from Mark Levin "putting it on the table" that Israel might have to nuke Iran. With zero blowback.

Personally, I've had a viscial (sic) disgust at these "armchair killers" who revel in the death and destruction and plan "Bloodbaths on the Rhine". They pop up in the most unexpected places. For example Rex Stout and the NYT's film critic during WW II, who wanted war to knife against Germany and destruction of Hiter, no matter what the cost. And then supported the criminal Morgenthau plan to impoverish Germany for 40 years. Its always fun to send others to their death from your safe, comfy chair.

If you're honest, you'll admit that people on both sides are exhilarated by watching their side inflict violence on the other. They're both exhilarated just by being teased with the prospect. They're jumping up and down like a dog jumping for a dangled bone. Our wars are the most popular reality shows on our screens by far.

We have spent more than 20 years, trillions of dollars, thousands of American lives and millions of foreign lives on our wars in the middle east. I look at the news today and nothing has changed. If anything, it's worse. The familiar sight of chanting, dangerous crowds of angry middle-easterners are now in the cities of Europe and the United States.
The people who have been in charge all this time, who have brought us this massive abject failure of stated goals and aspirations, do not have even a shred of humility. They are saying basically the exact same things they were saying in 2002 and 2003 and they want to continue doing the same things. In fact, they are far more arrogant in that they are working feverishly to censor and control all information they don't want us to have and to prevent anyone from publicly criticizing them, their proposals and their policies.
Our leaders must have gotten something they wanted out of the last 20 years of war if they are so determined to keep it all going. They didn't get what they told us they wanted, but they certainly got something.

Michael K said Black anti-Semitism has a long history.

I attended Cornell for nine years (undergraduate and graduate) and sometimes wrote pieces for The Cornell Review "the conservative voice on campus". I am both surprised and not surprised there is a Cornell professor who would talk this way. When I was there (1985-94) there were a handful of wackadoodle radicals although they were concentrated in certain departments (such as the Africana Studies and Research Center).

But since Michael broached the topic of black anti-Semitism I'll offer a couple comments.

I also became close friends with someone who lived at Young Israel House a coop house for Jewish students. About once a month went to enjoy Shabbat dinner and hang out with my friend.

My second year at Cornell I lived in Ujamaa which is a program dorm for people interested in "minority and Third World issues" but was commonly/erroneously known as the "black dorm". I was one of three white people. It was mostly a good experience.

My friends at Young Israel House knew I lived in Ujamaa. I did not tell people in Ujamaa that I visited friends in Young Israel House. At one point Ujamaa (and/or the Black Students Union) helped bring Stokely Carmichael to speak. The Jewish "community" (insofar as one can speak of a unified community) complained. I remember student leaders at Ujamaa saying something along the lines of "too bad, he speaks for us, we're not backing down".

My department was Near Eastern Studies (which included the Jewish Studies program). Once we brought in a speaker who was African-American and Jewish. He talked about his experience as a police chief in South Carolina. (Yeah no kidding.) During the Q and A someone asked if he ever witnessed or experienced anti-Semitism from the African-American community. He said nope was never a problem. After the talk my professors expressed their disbelief. "Seriously? How can he say it's not a problem???"

I am *not* saying all or most African-Americans are anti-Semitic. But at Cornell I sometimes witnessed a strange tension between the Jewish and African-American "communities".

I was serious with my question about black anti-Semitism. I grew up with a black nursemaid in the 1940s. Very few black owned businesses in Chicago, or anywhere else, for that matter. Obviously it has a longer history than that but I still don't know the answer. In Los Angeles, Koreans seem to have replaced the Jews as objects of hatred for blacks. Maybe it as simple as envy but there are still more black businesses than in the 1940s.

Nothing new. As Obama's pal Bernardine Dohrn once said about the Manson Family murders, "First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they even shoved a fork into the pig Tate's stomach! Wild!"

"Yes the lefts perverse focus on medically mutilating children and filling them full of puberty blockers is a step short of decapitating infants."

Per the NIH:

Abstract
Background: An altered balance of gonadal hormones in males with gender identity disorders (GIDs) may increase multiple sclerosis (MS) risk both inherently and secondary to treatment in undergoing male-to-female conversion.

Objective: We investigated any association between GIDs and MS through analysis of record-linked hospital statistics.

Method: Analysis of English Hospital Episode Statistics, 1999-2012.

Results: The adjusted rate ratio (RR) of MS following GIDs in males was 6.63 (95% confidence interval (95% CI) = 1.81-17.01, p = 0.0002). The RR of MS following GIDs in females was 1.44 (95% CI = 0.47-3.37, p = 0.58).

Conclusion: We report a strong association between GIDs and MS in male-to-females, supporting a potential role for low testosterone and/or feminising hormones on MS risk in males.

My father was in charge of the de-Nazification program in a section of northern Germany.
You're full of bullshit mixed with purposeful ignorance.

Here's Joe Rogan discussing the Harsh Truths of Operation Paperclip (NASA & Nazi's) w/Annie Jacobsen. I recommend the whole thing, but I've cued it to one of the sections on how the U.S. handled the end of the war. Keep in mind, this isn't the only source I have for this. I've heard this repeatedly. Of course, you don't see the worth of providing evidence for claims, so I get an insult with an emotional outburst about your poor father, instead of anything factual I can actually chew on. It's amazing, how many people consider themselves smart, while conducting debates that way. Extremely persuasive.

De-Nazification did NOT go well.

"And if they weren't exhilarated by this challenge to the monopoly of violence, by this shifting of the balance of power, then they would not be human. I was exhilarated."

When I watched a cowboy movie I liked seeing the Indians win, but I knew it was a movie, I did not want my parents scalped and my sister taken into slavery.

The results can't be interpreted, does "males" mean originally male or converted to male? (Same question for female, but not a significant effect though.)

This response is exactly why unconditional surrender by Hamas, and military tribunal war crime trials with execution of all found guilty of attacking Israel, must be the response. The exhilaration must be overcome with complete loss of everything.
