”The Bush era in Texas ends today!”

Maybe. I hope so. Now it’s time for Ken Paxton to prune his staff and for the people in the Texas House who voted to impeach to consider what they can do now that their respective political careers are over for most of them.

Speaking of the Romans and the Merkel statue coming apart. I have a theory.

If y’all recall, tearing down statues was very much a thing not too long.

The past before say the year 2000 was a hellish penumbra of racism rape and slavery.

So when wives ask their husbands how often they think about the dark darn dismal past, they are shocked by not hearing a stock pat response they may have very likely heard at community college, Black Lives Matter rallies and pro-choice rallies.

Shocked 🫨 to hear that the Roman Empire has something to teach us. Every day.

Condensation trails come from engines, don't they? So, what is this?

This video could be fabricated, but it looks real to my untrained small eye.

Tin foil hat time. 😏

"Police said an armed man was arrested after entering a campaign event in Los Angeles for Democratic presidential candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. on Friday claiming to be a U.S. Marshal.

The man was taken into custody at the campaign event by the candidate’s private security detail and then detained until officers from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived, according to Politico, citing the Los Angeles Police Department. Kennedy has been unable to obtain Secret Service protection despite repeated requests to the Biden administration, "

Biden is attempting to remove his opponents any way he can; throw them in prison or deny them security protection.

My son has been here for the weekend and we've watched some strange 80's movies I haven't seen in decades. "The Name of the Rose" stood the test of time well (except for a wooden young Christian Slater). "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" was still fun. After all this time I had forgotten which Noir stars were edited in. And last night was "Road Warrior." The fabulous gas-powered cars and the battle for fuel has aged remarkably well. It was made when an EV was unimaginable, so there's a poignancy to the post-apocalyptic struggle. Also, ass-chaps.

A man armed with two handguns “and spare ammunition magazines,” and sporting a US Marshall’s badge, attempted to get close to RFKJr at a speech in Los Angeles. A nutcase? Yes, but was the nutcase responding to Joe Biden’s refusal to provide Secret Service protection to Kennedy? Does the nutcase assume that the failure to provide Secret Service protection signal that it’s okay as far as President Biden is concerned to assassinate the challenger?

Moist air is condensing around the wingtip vortices. From the reduced air pressure at the wing tip.

Those are tip vortexes. Low pressure areas at the wing tips where the moisture in the air is condensing. The relative humidity in the air must be very high, and the low pressure is just enough to case the water to condense.

The tip vortexes are the aerodynamic phenomenon that drives the wing lift. The stronger the vortex, the more lift the wing is producing. The tip vortexes are why there are minimum separation distances between airplanes, with jumbo jets requiring bigger separation then Cessnas. A Cessna caught in a 747 tip vortex would be in for a wild ride, and a possible crash.
