ALAN DERSHOWITZ: Al Gore, his legal team and I tried to find uncounted presidential votes, lobbied officials and fought in the courts in 2000. The only difference now? The candidate's name is Donald Trump... That's why this prosecution is an outrage

For those of you here who may be wondering what may or may not happen when Trump releases his "Kraken" next week, there is an interesting discussion about it over at Legal Insurrection with Law Professor William Jacobson and his editors:

https://legalinsurrection.com/2023/08/there-is-no-endgame-to-continuing-to-relitigate-the-2020-election-its-a-dead-end/

You will notice a number of Althouse commentators there who post here also, as well as posting on Alex Jones, Conservative Treehouse, Gateway Pundit, and other like-minded cites.

It's time for the Republicans to introduce a bill to include females in the Selective Service Registration program.
It should define "female" as a human born with XX chromosome complement and XY as male. XXY, XO, XYY and other rare abnormalities would be exempt.
When the SHTF, we'll need every person to be available, not necessarily for combat, but many in support roles. Women are no longer viewed as the weaker or more sensitive sex, and one nice thing is that every person in the military with same rank, length of service, and skill modifiers is paid the same.
Some Democrats would feel obligated to vote against it, because it defines what a woman is.
Some Republicans would vote against it because it because it requires women to register.
If it doesn't pass, the Selective Service Registration requirement should be abolished. It's the most fundamentally unfair de jure activity the feds engage in.

Scott Adams via my X: It took me until today to realize Trump's "find votes" audio is a Rupar!

A "Rupar" is a video/audio in which removing one part reverses its meaning.

Trump: “So look, all I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is more than we have because we won the state.”

If you leave out "...we won the state" -- as the media normally does -- it looks like he is asking for fraud. If you include it, he says a recount or better count would find him to be the legitimate winner.

Add it to the list.

Partial Rupar List:

1. Fine People Hoax
2. Drinking Bleach Hoax
3. Overfeeding koi in Japan Hoax
4. Covington Kids Hoax
5. Find Votes Hoax

Once you see the gears of the machine, everything makes sense. Biden ran for office on the #1 Rupar, and won.

“San Francisco deserves better,” he said.

That's from the New York Post's interview with John A. Chachas, Chairman of Gump's, a very upscale furniture and décor retailer that's been operating from approximately the same location on Post Street since 1861. Chachas purchased a full page in today's San Francisco Chronicle to publish his open letter to Sauron and his orcs (aka Gavin Newsom, London Fucking Breed, Brooke Jenkins, and a slavering crew of anthropoids known as the Board of Supervisors). His was a desperate plea for basic civilized governance, but far too civil in tone. Civility doesn't work on barbarians as Mr. Chachas will soon learn when the plague of filth and degeneracy continues unabated. The Dark Lord may make a few comforting coos and grunts, but no measures to moderate (reversal is far too right-wing) the decadence will be taken. And the reason is simple. Newsom and company are executing their mandate. San Francisco deserves better, says Mr. Chachas, but he's wrong. As wrong as Desmoulins and Hérault de Séchelles. As wrong as Chamberlain and Halifax. The fiends and demons are loose and San Francisco voted for their liberation from the Pit. San Francisco doesn't deserve salvation, but the cities of the plain can ask for redemption. However, contrition will be required.

Wow. The US tried to get Niger's neighbors to intervene militarily to restore the French puppet so that France could keep enjoying the cheap Uranium, but the neighbors just told the US no. US credibility is collapsing due to Joe Biden's ham-fisted ineptness. Taiwan is looking at Ukraine and trying to decide whether sweet US promises of independence are going to work out any better than our sweet promises to Kiev did.

I missed the chance to comment on today's earlier topic of hot/cold climates and preferences, but I can't pass up the opportunity to comment on a statistical graph that someone linked to from Statista showing cold and heat deaths in the US from '95 to '22.

The comment was ""Ah, well, the fear of the cold is deep-seated." With reason enough. It kills more people than heat."

Well, the graph shows exactly the opposite of what is stated above. Do people even look at the data they are linking to?

I personally don't know if this data is correct or not... a quick Google review of the topic shows a huge range of claims, indicating that there is a lot of bad data out there (are we surprised?).

The only truth I'm able to provide on the topic is that I personally have no intent on dying from either extreme!

So Giuliani has not been paid for his services during the days of "Stop the Steal" and he and his unpaid lawyer Bob Costello went begging to Mar-a-Lago and Trump the supposed billionaire cannot bring himself to pay his bills either.

Now comes the Smartmatic lawsuit asking Rudy to pay $2.7 billion and the former NYC mayor cannot afford low five-figure fees to assemble records for the defamation lawsuit. He wants to sell a $6.5 million apartment in the Big Apple but that won't help.

So if he can't get paid, he can at least get even. He can always visit with Jack Smith and Fani Willis and Alvin Bragg to flush Trump down the sewer. In return, he can get a soft bed and no work in a low-security Federal facility until he dies. The Fulton County Jail known as Rice Street is not for the faint of heart and Attica Prison wouldn't be good either.

The death toll on Maui is up to 110, but over 1000 people are listed as missing. One can hope that all or most are found alive and safe, but it doesn’t look good.

I’ll ask again, why is the head of FEMA still in Washington? Why is she not on Maui?

More questions. Is the Maui airport still operational? Is the US Air Force ferrying in supplies yet? Are they air lifting burn victims to civilian and military hospitals in Oahu? If not, why not? Has the hospital ship USNS Mercy with its 1000 beds and trained staff been dispatched from its home port in San Diego to Maui to assist the overworked healthcare providers and overloaded local hospitals? If not, why mot?

The New York Times reported that firefighters found very low water pressure when they tried to use hydrants, and sometimes no water pressure at all. Why? How can that be prevented from ever happening again?

"Gore filed lawsuits asking for the recounts for which he was clearly entitled and accepted the Supreme Court decision shutting them down, even though the decision was entirely lawless. Which, when you think about it, is very similar to refusing to concede an election you have clearly lost, coming up with a scheme of fake electors to steal the election, and inciting a riot to stop the votes from being counted, if you have suffered very severe brain damage."

Surprise, surprise. Our pet jihadists are starting terror attacks in Niger, because, you know, it's important to them that the French should have access to cheap Uranium, and we should have a base there. Looks like we are going to get our pretext to go in there and knock some heads together, no matter what the cost in lives.

Secretary of State Blinken responded to a question by saying that climate change was the number one threat to humanity, number two was the loss of the US ability to dictate governments and policies around the world, then somewhere below that came nuclear war. Just sayin'.

"Supreme Court decision shutting them down, even though the decision was entirely lawless."

The grounds were equal protection, the Recounts were only looking to "find" the votes for Gore in heavily Democratic districts. I know that "equal protection" for Republican voters doesn't matter to Democrats, and providing it must seem lawless to them. We had these same equal protection issues in PA (ballot shortages in R precints), AZ (Printers didn't work in R precincts), and Wisconsin (Facebook gave huge money to election officials in D districts to boost turnout, while ignoring R district turnout efforts.)

Trump suggested providing money to election officials the way Zuckerberg did, and that is a count in the indictment, BTW. When will Zuckerberg be arrested and imprisoned.

"Remember that rumor floating around that Hunter called his dad 'Pedo Pete'?

Things that make you go 'hrmmmm'....

On Tuesday, Comer issued a request to NARA for all unredacted materials in which then-Vice President Joe Biden used a pseudonym related to his relationship with Ukraine. Comer explained he specifically seeks an email titled, “Email Messages To and/or From Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden related to Burisma and Ukraine.” Comer said the email, attached with a document, was sent to “Robert L. Peters”— a pseudonym for Joe Biden."

16% of the people in Niger want the "democratically elected" president re-instated immediately, and almost 80% of them want the military left in power, at least until an election can be organized. Of course the US is "protecting democracy" by sending in terrorist jihadis to create pretexts for intervention, like we did in Syria with ISIS, which we armed, and troops to "protect Niger" and reinstate the US-France puppet.

ISIS and Al Qaeda are our Wagner.

Washington Examiner: "Squad" Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has come under fire from Democrats and Republicans for anti-Israel remarks, had her 2022 World Cup trip paid for by the government of Qatar, an Arab country that has been a top funder of the terrorist group Hamas.

The far-right Examiner ignored the news that Jared Kushner’s private equity fund has received hundreds of millions of dollars in investments from the UAE and Qatar. According to The New York Times, the investments, which follow a similar cash injection from Saudi Arabia’s wealth fund, raise concerns about how those close to the Trump administration have profited off of their former government roles.

The UAE sovereign wealth fund invested about $200 million with Kushner’s firm, Affinity Equity, and a Qatari fund invested about the same, according to the Times. The recently revealed investments are small [but far more than Qatar paid for Rep. Ilhan Omar's trip] compared to that of the Saudi fund, which invested $2 billion with Affinity in 2021, shortly after Kushner left the White House.
