"Joe Rogan could be reversing course on his decision to not have former President Donald Trump on his podcast."

"In years prior, Rogan has been vocal about not wanting to interview Trump and has even admitted to turning down several opportunities to do so. But... [o]n the Thursday edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan sat down with political commentator Patrick Bet-David to discuss entrepreneurship and politics. 'When are you having Trump on,' Bet-David asked. 'I don’t know... I don’t know – maybe,' Rogan said. 'At a certain point in time, it’s just like. It would be interesting to hear his perspective on a lot of things... I would like to know what is it like when you actually get into office? I would like to know things like what is it like versus perception? What is it actually like when you get in that building? What are you greeted with? When do you know that people are fucking with you?... When do you know the intelligence agencies are lying to you? Like when you decided to fire Comey? What was the thought? How much did you know? What’s the machine like? What is the deep state really like? Really like, because we have all these, you know, smoky room perceptions, like from the Bill Hicks joke or they show you the Kennedy assassination from an angle you’ve never seen before. You know, what is the machine that runs this country? Because it’s very clear that it’s not as simple as elected representatives that are doing the will of the people.'"

I think that woould be a great interview providing Joe didn't get high beforehand. He's a stellar interviewer when he's straight. He's not afraid to ask embarassing question. Of course progressives will vilify him for interviewing Trump.

That would be an excellent interview! I would even pay to listen to it.

I'd listen if Trump went on, but I wouldn't have high hopes. As outspoken as DJT is, he is still a political candidate and the subject of multiple investigations/court cases. I imagine he'll watch his mouth around the stuff Joe plans on asking about.

Every question is a good one. Many stories have been written by people wondering about these answers.

So I get the Althouse thing with Joe Rogan.

Joe Rogan is new! Joe Rogan is fresh! Joe Rogan has a different view! Joe Rogan has an everyman view! Joe Rogan cuts through the accepted wisdom!

See, e.g., Scott Adams.

Please, all; see my comments that were very belatedly posted under Althouse’s “Joe Rogan/Kari Lake” post from a day ago.

And even if Joe Rogan was ASKING good questions (he clearly doesn’t have many good answers himself), why would anyone think that Trump would provide interesting, informative, conversant answers to questions, no matter how good the questions were? Trump would be defensive, bragging, feral, unrevealing, unaware, fundamentally ignorant. As he always is. To correct myself just slightly, Trump’s answering questions from Joe Rogan might be minimally interesting insofar as the Trump answers might expand on our knowledge of Trump’s personal sociopathology. But it wouldn’t provide any useful information about the Presidency.

Each one of the Joe Rogan questions quoted in this blog post could be put to Bush and/or Obama. Biden, as well. And we’d get some meaningful answers. Trump would be a waste of time.

It occurred to me that no dead bodies have shown up in Donald Trump's pool.

The FBI raided his house and didn't find any surreptitious email servers designed to avoid federal FOIA laws.

Gay transvestites are not breaking into Mar-A-Lago looking for Donald Trump.

And the Secret Service still hasn't discovered any cocaine at Trump's house.

But he's the bad guy, right?

Has Rogan had Vivek on? If not, it would be electric!

I would listen if Joe wasn't stoned enough to affect the quality of his performance. I don't listen to Rogan often, unless he has a guest I am really interested in. But it does seem that he's gotten a little sloppy with this habit, over time. It makes for boring listening.

All these years that the political establishment has spent "othering" Trump and Rogan could rehumanize him in just a few hours.

Of course he’d reverse course. All he cares about is getting cash from promoting controversy and Trump will say anything for attention. Or because he has no morals, as we can see from what he’d say about his own daughter on Howard Stern’s show.

Joe Rogaine has elevated drunk/stoned/high basement-dwelling musings into a conspiratorial cuckoo’s nest of high art. He has monetized bar-stool BS handsomely. He is the Cliff Clavin of capitalism, on steroids. Literally. The “manly” incels of the right love it. He’s the reason Trump and his fans “love the poorly educated.”

What is the Bill Hicks joke?

Joe could interview any Trump administration personnel and get good answers to those questions. This conversation seems to indicate Rogan sees Trump as prior occupant of the White House, not a future occupant.

I still marvel at the fact Joe Rogan started this whole podcast thing by saying he's an idiot, and now everyone hangs on his every word

Who I would really wish to see Rogan interview is Joe Biden. Can you imagine a free wheeling 2.5 hour interview with Biden? In the aftermath it would be painstakingly obvious that he is unfit for the job.

It would be great to hear Trump answer Rogan’s questions. The more Trump talks the better.

A lot of good - and relevant- questions there. A must-watch interview!

Biden-Fetterman 2024!

Dumb and Dumber.

Trump would be demolished by Rogan. I hope it happens, but as usual, Trump won't do it. He will be like Biden and hide out in his basement at Margo Largo.

Why not? it worked for Biden. Biden supposed got 11 million more votes than anyone else in history in the same election that Trump increased the number who voted for him by 12 million votes and got more votes than anyone else in history except Biden.

That's why they had to stop counting election night, they weren't expecting Trump to do that well and didn't have enough fake votes prepared.

He invites interesting guests, ask good questions, lets them talk, and listens. Most of the time, it's not what Joe says that is so interesting, but what his guests say.

No wonder they tried so furiously in cancelling Joe Rogan 2 years ago. No one cares what the legacy media has to say any more and people look to other outlets like Rogan, Twitter and Tucker carlson for analysis. Even a half stoned Rogan sipping single malts is more lucid and authentic than anything out of CNN's programmed DNC bots.

Mmmm probably not. Trump isn't as dumb as you are.

LLR lonejustice: "He will be like Biden and hide out in his basement at Margo Largo."

LOL

Think about how shamelessly mendacious you would have to be to write something so fundamentally at odds with reality as that.

Yeah, that darn Trump never leaves his basement and wont talk to anyone!

Even for a member of the "LLR Brigade" that one exceeds idiocy expectations.

The PTB in their eagerness to make an example out of Trump were a little too obvious with what they were doing.
