Anthony Blinken says that the coup in Niger is unacceptable because it overthrew a democratically elected government. Yet the United States recognized the leaders of a violent coup in Ukraine that overthrew an elected government, and did it almost immediately, and our new Deputy Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, called the overthrow of the democratically elected government of Ukraine an instance of the toast landing "jelly side up." That's right, our new acting Deputy Secretary of State believes the exact opposite of what Blinken purports to believe.
I am starting to wonder if what they say out loud has no connection to what they actually think.
Could this be the beginning of the end for Lithium-Ion batteries?
"Toyota, the world’s second-largest carmaker, has recently announced a significant breakthrough in battery technology that could revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) industry. The Japanese auto giant claims to have developed a solid-state battery with a range of 745 miles (1,200 kilometers) that could charge in 10 minutes or less, a feat that could potentially double the distance of vehicles running on conventional lithium-ion batteries under the same conditions."
"The solid-state battery, as its name implies, employs solid electrolytes, a departure from the liquid ones found in conventional lithium-ion batteries. This shift is more than just a technical nuance. It’s a potential revolution for EVs, promising to slash charging times, boost capacity, and mitigate the fire risk associated with lithium-ion batteries."
"Toyota’s solid-state battery technology could be the silver bullet the EV industry has been seeking, addressing the key drawbacks of conventional lithium-ion batteries, namely limited range and lengthy charging times. The company has been nurturing this technology since 2012, and its efforts have borne fruit in the form of over 1,000 solid-state battery patents, outpacing any other carmaker."

No, Tim, the violent 2014 coup in Kyiv was much more complex than your US political view. Read the whole story here:
Andy McCarthy (The unwritten agreement): "Hunter pleads guilty to two trivial misdemeanor counts for years 2018 and 2019 with the expectation of no jail time, and the government further makes a firearms felony disappear; in exchange, the Justice Department will not prosecute him for any other tax crimes, money laundering, felony failure to register as a foreign agent, bribery conspiracy, or any other criminal offenses arising out of his business dealings from 2014 to 2019."
"The Biden Justice Department didn’t dare say that publicly, so the sweetheart deal went up in smoke."
Astute analysis. The prosecutors and the defense were on the same team and the good judge sniffed that out.
Sinéad O'Connor recently wrote a possible suicide note referring to the loss of her son Shane:
“#lostmy17yrOldSonToSuicidein2022. Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”
The circumstances of her death remain unclear at this time. She is survived by three children, none of whom were living at her home full time. Her youngest son, Yeshua Bonadio was shared with his American father, Frank.
There is a lot of double talk in the Toyota announcement, but that just may be the person writing the story doesn't really have a good understanding of what they are writing about, but this seems to be the key part:
"A higher performance version is still under research and development but has the potential to deliver 50% more cruising range"
It's Toyota, so I will listen, but there seems to be a bit of hand waving going on. But I understand that the powers that be got the head of Toyota fired because he was not on board with EVs so it might be that the new guy is a little less brutally honest about the realities if EV tech.
Just looking at the post about Judge Noreika asking if she was expected to just “Rubber stamp the agreement”. A lot of the insurrection talk regarding Trump was because he dared to suggest to his VP that his duty wasn’t just to rubber stamp the election certification. Trump was hardly the first to suggest that is not the role of the certification process, but it was convenient to suggest it was inappropriate for Trump to say, “perhaps we should as a few questions here.”
It seems the one thing elites want to stamp out more than Trump or anything else is skepticism of the decisions they are making for us. Judge Noreika showed just a bit of skepticism, hardly a lot, and it was enough to devastate the plea deal carefully crafted by the DoJ and Biden’s lawyers to hide decades of crime.
I read this morning the reason for Devon Archer's three-time cancellation of his testimony before the house was he waiting for the Hunter plea deal to get completed. He did want any further investigation into Hunter either as he may get caught up in the wash. He may never testify or may mute his testimony.
William50. That is good news. Maybe now we can get electric vehicles that are worth owning. Do they weight less than Li batteries? I could go for an electric F150 or a Suburban.
"gilbar said... Serious Question Does Wisconsin have a State Fair? I assume they Do, but i've never heard of it? Is it in Madison? Is it any good?"
Yes we do, and it started in 1851. The Fairgrounds are in West Allis, a suburb of Milwaukee, and are right off I94. It's a great time. Good food (and bad), beer, music, animals, and rides.
The simple facts of the coup are that whatever the issues, they could have waited for an election. The snipers shooting randomly into the crowd were in a building controlled by the coup plotters. The democratically elected parliament was driven out by an armed mob, and the US recognized the new “government” without asking any questions, and the Russian speaking areas of Ukraine, unlike the US, which is thousands of miles away, have refused to recognize the legitimacy of the coup now for nine years. It’s been a civil war for that long and we have been involved for that long, same as Russia.
What’s especially funny is that the US is maintaining that if one side of the civil war, that we helped to ignite, wins, it’s an affront to international law.
Bill Stevenson, who was married to the First Lady from 1970 to 1975, previously told DailyMail.com that he was still married to Jill when she met Joe, and has always denied the Bidens' well-publicized story of having met on a blind date.
Speaking to Newsmax on Wednesday, the 75-year-old said the president's brother Frankie Biden tried to intimidate him during his divorce to Jill, and claimed he faced repercussions when he did not listen to the alleged threats.
'Frankie Biden of the Biden crime family comes up to me and he goes, "Give her the house or you’re going to have serious problems,"' Stevenson claimed.
'I looked at Frankie and I said, "Are you threatening me?" and needless to say, about two months later, my brother and I were indicted for that tax charge for $8,200.'"
"Hunter Biden must actively seek employment and not use drugs in order to stay out of custody, according to an order from a Delaware judge setting the conditions of his release"
I like mornings that start off with a chuckle. Hunter stay off drugs??? Are they planning to sew his nostrils shut?

But, that's not until Late August.. Right Now, it's still county fair time, and that means Summer will last For Ever! Yea Summer! 87 degrees with 70% humidity right now.. PERFECT weather for ice cream!!

Jan6 defendants could have used that skeptical judge asked to rubber stamp Hunter’s plea bargain deal.
People are still getting prison over Jan6.

I think so, somewhere in Swillwaukee. I saw Willie Nelson there years ago, but I don’t really remember much of it.
