RFK Jr. is — by far — the most approved-of political figure in the United States right now.

According to a new Harvard Harris poll:

By "approved-of," I mean the gap between "favorable and unfavorable." He's up 21 points, and the next highest is Musk, with 9 Tim Scott with 10 Ramaswamy with 16.

Lots more insights to be gained from that list. For example, Trump has — by far — the highest "very favorable" number (though his "very unfavorable" is much higher (and yet one point lower that of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris).

I'll repeat my admonition that public opinion polls are commissioned by people to further their public narrative.

Low bar.

Another poll. My first thought is always: What are the people behind this poll trying to affect or effect in the public sphere?

Are they trying to spur Democrat power brokers to dump Biden and nominate a "safe", i.e., more electable candidate? I know Dems who are very uneasy with the prospect of Biden running, but very few elites are willing to go public and admit the emperor has no clothes.

Our friend Vivek is +16.

Go Vivek!

Vivek Ramaswamy does well. Tho I need to copy and paste his name to speed things up.

It should be noted Vivek has the least unfavorable rating by a wide margin. A very likable guy. His favorability rating will increase at the same trajectory as his name recognition.

Interesting to see that BobbyJr would easily beat the Rich Orange Outsider, but he cannot be nominated by the Dems because he would not help them destroy the USA. The Dems stick to “go Globalist or go home”. And apparently they are confident that they have the election is rigged again.

Serious Question.. Do people have to have HEARD of you, in order to be unfavorable?

Old and slow said...

I guess to not know him is to approve of him. Or the American public is irredeemably stupid. Yeah, that might be it.

Polls are shit. 2016 proved it. Does this have to do with less knowledge?

The media, especially tv, depends on pharma money to survive. Perhaps 30-50% of their revenue comes from pharma ads. (one might call it extortion but that another discussion)

Politicians also love that sweet, sweet, pharmaceutical money.

Rfk (I'm not calling him junior anymore)

Represents a threat to that cash flow in 3 ways.

1) he questions why pharmcos need immunity from prosecution for unsafe "vaccines" and the sometimes successful attempts to get therapeutics classified as "vaccines" eg: kung flu shot.

2) he raises doubts about fda safety testing.

3) most importantly for media he would ban general advertising of prescription drugs leaving only New Zealand where it is permitted.

I think rfk (not Jr) being against the pharmcos is a bigger reason than presidential politics why he is reviled. Politics is a strong#2, but it is #2.

Trump's unfavorables are at 37%, which is one point less than Harris's and Biden's at 38%.

Vivek is the face of the H1B’s.

Putting him at the head of the MAGA movement, which is about taking care of the people who are already here, makes no sense.

Lots of working-class whites would fall away.

Nearly all the hispanics and 1619 blacks who went MAGA would also go back to the Dems.

LLR-democratical and Violent Homosexual Rage Rape Fantasist Chuck:

As others have noted: The masses are asses when they vote into power a government that we do not like and they are the repositories of profound wisdom when their choice of government coincides with ours.

And given we know LLR-democratical Chuck is a cult-like follower of democraticals he considers "brilliant"
(Andrew Weissmann, Rachel Maddow, Gretchen Whitmer, any radical trans agenda advocate, etc) its hardly surprising Chuck would be very pleased to be a "citizen" of a permanent 1-party state made up of democratical "experts" to which the entire nation should be made to worship and adhere.

That working theory quite nicely explains the last 8 years of Chuck's postings....

...well, that and his explicitly stated desire to smear conservatives and drive a wedge between Althouse snd her readers.

Who are these people that have 'no opinion' on Donald Trump. There's not many but according to this poll they are there.

I kind of live under a rock when it comes to news, but c'mon.

It's not that difficult to be likable.

Wow, another Democrat presidential candidate who has no real background for the job except being a party apparatchnik. The Republicans for decades after Reagan ran the leaders of their Party, and to hell with the idea of winning. The Dems now have found that running a nobody, or a senile old fool, lets the Party run the administration. And they actually win elections doing this. God help us all.

You misquote the last sentence - Trump has the highest very favorable, but his "very unfavorable" is higher than his "very favorable." His "very unfavorable," however, is still lower than Biden's and Harris' "very unfavorable" (each are 38% very unfavorable, while Trump is only 37% very unfavorable).

Further, the only two people with a higher net unfavorable rating than Biden and Harris are Hillary Clinton and Mitch McConnel, of all people.

Where is Francis Suarez on this list - he has announced a run for president and won the Miami mayorship in the last election with 86% of the vote. No love?

Interesting reaction by a Democrat. The traditional Democrats are now Republicans while the country club Republicans are now Democrats Anita Dunn, a fan of Mao, is still a senior White House advisor. Black is white. Up is down.

"It should be noted Vivek has the least unfavorable rating by a wide margin."

He has low unfavorables because most of the left has never heard of him and the media hasn't bothered to train them to hate him. So far.

Rabel said...

Also, the poll gives us something to chat about but I wouldn't go so far as to say it provides any "insight."

Rabel said...

As for Kennedy, I wouldn't vote for him for dogcatcher (unless he was running against Biden) but, like Trump, he comes across as a real person saying what he really believes. A rarity.

But then, so did Adolf.

Seems clear that Lady A means that Trump's unfavorable is much higher than his favorable. 37 v. 26.

Unfavorable + Very unfavorable: Congrats, HRC. Only JB is loathed more, and by a single point

Mikey NTH said...

At this point the favorable and the unfavorable depends a lot on how many people have actually heard of the prospective candidate and know what his postions are.

Big Mike said...

This poll says absolutely nothing about which candidates can win enough delegates to get nominated, much less which candidates, if nominated, have a path to 270 (or more) electoral votes.

Donald Trump’s high “very unfavorable” numbers are no surprise, given that the press has spent seven years nonstop downplaying the man’s positive accomplishments and magnifying his faults. But there are people who remember the state of the economy in 2019 and can readily compare to how they are doing under Bidenomics and they. Will. Not. Vote. For. Anyone. Except. Donald. Trump. I’m talking about people who work at jobs like electrician, carpenter, HVAC repair, trash collector, auto mechanic, etc. People who the Democrats, since Obama, have taken pains to sneer at.

If this were a state-wide poll for a statewide office (governor, US Senator) I’d ask who has the easiest route to 50% + 1. But this poll is pretty useless.

As a 25-year resident of CA until I recently left, I can state with confidence that Gavin Newsom will be the next D-candidate for POTUS. The suits are faced with just two “problems”: Retiring Joe, and placating Kamala who feels anointed; Newsom is the fly in her anointment. He would be terrible POTUS because he is utterly under Chinese control—even worse than Joe.

If you're rejected by the nutcases, that probably makes you sane rather than a nutcase.

Alot of JFK's positions are grossly misrepresented by the MSM. Listen to him explain them in one of the many podcast interview's he's been doing.

You don't become a successful litigator by being a nutjob. Perhaps its not his views that are wrong ?
