"Ultimately, Hunter Biden will himself be called to testify before the House. Maybe he'll refuse to say anything."

"That may be best for him. But for his president father, running for re-election, having his son come across like Vito Genovese taking the Fifth dozens of times before questions about shell companies and payments to himself and his dad isn't a great look. When Hunter Biden agreed to his plea deal last week, his lawyer said he did so with the understanding the investigation was resolved. Perhaps that part is. But for Joe Biden, Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray, it's only just begun."

Writes William McGurn in "Joe Biden's 'Malarkey' Defense" (Wall Street Journal).

If Hunter Biden were some rando named Hunter Smith, he'd be a methhead routinely boffing homeless skanks under some overpass. Without his daddy's name and money, Hunter is a wastoid.

He'd be a serial drug-abusing john who wouldn't have the money or connections to buy high-end child prostitutes, forcing him to settle for toothless addicts seeking gas money to get to the next truck stop. Judging by his texts and emails, he's got zero charisma, and will even screw family members because the whole Biden line is a degenerate freak show.

These people make me sick. They should make you sick. They should make everyone sick. Times have changed.

CAN'T Hunter just point out, that
a) he is a DEMOCRAT, and thus exempt from laws
b) he is a BIDEN, and thus ABSOLUTELY exempt, from ALL LAWS
c) his accusers have named Both dates, AND years for the crimes.. Which means they are inadmissible

For a crime to be proven,
a) the accused MUST BE a republican
b) the accussed must be supporting Trump
c) and THIS, is The IMPORTANT ONE.. There can be NO MENTION of a date, of GOD FORBID a year

"Mr. Biden? In your opinion which eastern European country outputs the hottest young hookers and a reasonably affordable rate"?

"Mr. Biden. I smoked some pot in a marijuana legal state, and got drunk last Saturday. I need to apply for a gun permit. Do you think I should wait, or does that not count as a drug addiction"?

"Mr. Biden. Are naked penis pictures more enticing taken head on, not pun intended; excuse me...lol...or better from a profile pose"?

"Mr. Biden. I dabble is oil painting. A little water color sometimes. I painted this one last week. Do you think I could get $500K for one of my paintings like you do"?

"Mr. Biden. You have quite an impressive record. Tell me. It's kind of a fantasy of mine. What is like to bang your bother's widow?"

He will be cleaned up, shaved, have a $100 haircut and a $4000 suit, and zero prostitutes or smoking crack pipes will be within his reach in the hearing room. He will adopt an attitude of "how can you think such things of me, the prodigal, returned son of Joe Biden: me, the bereft brother of Joe's other, dead, son; me, the wealthy international businessman with worldwide respect and contacts among all the elite of the elite?

And when every email and picture from his laptop is put up on a big screen for his explanation of his vile personal behavior and corrupt criminal practices, he won't remember anything, will say he doesn't do that nasty stuff any more, and he will say it is a mean thing to do to him in public. And that will be that.

Hold the hearings in camera, send criminal referral after criminal referral to the DOJ, and get something done other than kabuki political theatricals.

Yancey Ward said...

He will surely decline to appear since the DoJ will still have his back and ignore any contempt referrals made by the House.

Somewhere in Arkansas is a little 5 year old girl whose mom is a stripper, her father is a crackhead, and her grandpaw is the president of the united states.

Not even Joe Ezsterhas could come up with a storyline like this. Life is frickin' trippy.

Can we just see Hunter Biden, Devon Archer, and Tony Bobulinski all testify on the same day? Please? The nation needs it. It'd be like an enema for a very constipated national discourse. Kinda clear things out.

I'll believe when I see it. These fuckers are set to skate. Nothing will be done.

Maybe Hunter Biden will not testify under oath before whichever House Committee calls him because the "whistleblowers" did not testify in open session under oath before Ways and Means and Jim Comer isn't smart enough to understand that his Oversight Committee just reread the FBI Form 1023 which was old news not germane except in a conspiratorial way.

More likely, Biden's lawyer will simply remind the House that the legal proceedings on his client's plea are ongoing and are not the business of the legislature.

Funny. I remember your boast that Weiss was a Trump appointed US Attorney, so the statement had to be true.

Oh well. Those "Conspiracy Theories" keep coming true. Trump appointed Weiss on the request by Delaware's two Democrat Senators. That's pretty much standard.

Where does the DOJ get the authority to make a deal that binds the Legislative Branch?

Perhaps Mr. McGurn could find an Irish mobster with whom to compare Hunter Biden, rather than impugning my people.

After all, the Bidens are Irish mobsters, right?

"When Hunter Biden agreed to his plea deal last week, his lawyer said he did so with the understanding the investigation was resolved." - from the article.

I don't usually read gadfly's posts because they are almost always equally laughable. Amazing how it seems to be a monomaniacal quest for our dollar store LLR, not only to fill us in on details of the size and shape of Trump's penis, obviously to make sure it meets "presidential standards," but to defend the honor of the Biden clan at every turn.

But, if he does this Hunter might not ve able to plead the fifth.

When will some republican DA find a state law that Hunter broke and file charges? Seems inevitable.

iowan2 said...

The case has been settled out of court.

Hunter has no basis to plead the 5th,he is no longer at risk. A Pardon would double down on stripping Hunter of the ability to refuse to answer so as not to incriminate himself.

Mikey NTH said...

Gahrie - I think a presidential pardon only applies to federal prosecution. Congressional investigations wouldn't fall under that.

Josephbleau said...

If Hunter has a plea deal he can no longer incriminate himself regarding such charges, so no 5 th amendment right against it. I would like to hear Hunter say, yea, but I am guilty of many other things so I can’t testify anyway, because it will be used against me.

So the Democrats can put on a show, and tell them how proud they are of him for quitting his habits?? You know, the softball questions and the praise they always show instead of actually doing their jobs, and asking proper questions that are the reason WHY he would be there?? It all a political show, and the media will only show what fits their narrative.

You're wrong. A presidential pardon is an absolute pardon, which is why the Democrats never forgave Ford for pardoning Nixon.

The plea deal only involves tax violations and his firearm violations. He can still be prosecuted for bribery and possession of classified material.

Megyn Kelley came back from vacation yesterday and she was on fire with Glenn Greenwald.

Lots of talk about Hunter. One of the things that pissed her off is that Hunter is still under investigation for some other stuff. This allows him to refuse to answer questions in Congress.

Megyn thinks this was left pending on purpose to keep him quiet. She thinks the DOJ is a bunch of sneaky fuckers trying to protect Brandon.

Kelley is, or was, a lawyer and seems better on legal stuff than a lot of other commentators. I'll tend to take her word on something like this.

From the ABA website,

“ The U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 reads: “The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any Subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment (emphasis added).”

There is a strong consensus among legal experts that a president cannot pardon someone for a state offense, as the Constitution notes “offenses against the United States.” In other words, state law enforcement authorities could review any criminal allegations, without presidential intervention, to determine if they rise to the level of a state offense.”

If so I guess scotus gets to decide, someday, what constitutes an offense against the US. I would think that the United States includes the states so a crime against a state would be a crime against the United States, but perhaps not. States were more important earlier in the nations history. As I recall New York said they would indict Trump for state crimes if he was pardoned, perhaps that is why the ABA wrote this blurb being against Trump, but it may apply to Hunter or Joe at some point.

I don’t see how a pardon could keep the Congress from investigating, censuring, or impeaching anyone.

I suspect John Roberts and 1 other "conservative" SC justice will, in a future proceeding, join with the lefties to prove you wrong.

Naturally it will be a Trump only specific ruling, applicable to no other President/ex-President.

If prosecution is foreclosed, Hunter has no grounds to invoke the Fifth. And if he does, the House should use its long-unused inherent power to jail him for contempt.
