You are a bad person if you think the lost sub is funny or something to be celebrated because the passengers are rich

Every single thread that I’ve seen about this tragedy has been filled top to bottom with jokes and celebration because the people on board the sub are “super rich”

I’ve been a part of multiple conversations about this tragedy at work and in social settings over the past few days and not once has the wealth of the passengers come up - leading me to further detest what I’m reading about the story here on this site .

Thinking that you know anything about these people because of their socioeconomic status is incredibly naive at best and absolutely willfully ignorant at worst. Making jokes and even openly celebrating what those poor people (including a 19 year old kid) went through/are going through speaks volumes about your level of mental and emotional development.

I have trouble even conceiving a worse and more frightening death than what is potentially currently happening to the passengers. Reading jokes about it - open celebration even - makes me feel embarrassed to even use this site.; 6/21/23, 6:38 PM

If the 4 passengers had/have to wait 4 days to die, that is a terrible death. No denying the passengers who were lied to deserve sympathy.

But it is hard to contemplate the the magnitude of the hubris of the company without resort to that most human of responses when faced with the infinite. Humor. And Darwin in action. That man, pilot/ owner/whatever, killed 4 other people. I have no sympathy for him.

I have an old acquaintance that is a law professor at Arizona State. He was in the top 10 of the high school graduating class. He might have been top-of-the-class. I don't recall to where he matriculated, but I'm sure it wasn't one of the state supported schools.

I stumbled across his profile on Facebook, and thought this should be interesting. We have several mutual friends.

I'm looking at his profile, and his most recent activity is filing claims against climate change in the International Court of Climate Change.

I had to look it up. There is a recently established Court of Climate Change.
