Republican lawmakers wrangled just enough votes to end a filibuster and pass a bill with both measures. Gov. Pillen, who pushed for the bill and met with various lawmakers to shore up support, has promised to sign it into law.

Omaha is a very small town. I used to live on the same block as her parents. She went to the same high school as my sisters. I campaigned for her dad when he ran for Congress.

We’ve had some recent interactions. Before the hearing on the bill, I was in the Rotunda and snapped some pictures of some protestors. Didn’t think a thing of it. Some were minors. She had it in her head that I didn’t something wrong notwithstanding the fact these kids were in one of the most public places in the state. She politely asked me stop. I was surprised she knew my name.

She recently reprimanded me on social media.”I’ve seen your behavior on social media.”

Her grandfather was Jack Cavanaugh; a county commissioner. He’s probably buried in the same Catholic cemetery with many of my relatives.

Her dad and brothers all went to Creighton Prep; my alma mater. Prep is a big deal in Omaha.

So, the Begleys and Cavanaughs have somewhat of a history in Omaha.

She praised her mother on the floor of the Unicam this week. Said how much she loved her. Raised 8 kids. Catholic schools; just like my family. Mom is Catholic and opposed this bill.

This is really very sad to me. How could she go so wrong? How could a person raised Catholic end up with these political opinions? What the hell happened?

This bill stopped mutilation of kids and subjecting them to medical experiments. We were both in the hearing room when Nebraskan Luka “Bunny” Hein testified. The doctors at Nebraska Medicine cut off her breasts at age 16. I wasn’t expecting that testimony. I’m not an emotional guy, but I wanted to cry. M. Cavanaugh was in the room and heard the whole story.

I think two things are going on here. The Dem party has driven these people insane. Their ability to reason is gone. And, of course, we have this poison popular culture. The Gramiscian Marxist march through the institutions has been incredibly effective.

The other thing is that this is the work of Satan. I don’t know how else to explain it. My best friend is a 40 year old single mom who is a lawyer. She has good instincts and judgement. We are in agreement that this trans thing is Satanic.

For our country, I don’t know how this is fixed. Or if it even can be fixed.

Maybe prayer will help.

I’m friends with the state Senator who got this bill passed. The Governor and I talked about this issue months ago. Just glad we won.

Winning matters. But the Left is so insane that they won’t acknowledge defeat. I completely underestimated the insanity of today’s Left. That’s a giant problem.; 5/20/23, 10:01 PM

The air quality was rated at 20 when I took the picture. The previous day it had gone up over 100, because of the Canadian fires. The bad part had already passed over.

I was skeptical of the story as soon as I learned that the “innocent” young black man was with friends and that she was pregnant. I mean, one bicycle but a group of teenaged boys? Did the dude rent it but then walk it while he strolled with his buddies? And why would a pregnant woman pick a fight with a bunch of guys? One solid punch to the stomach and she’s going to miscarry, amiright?

Well it turns out the story really was dead wrong. She is the one who paid for the disputed bike; the black teenagers were getting their kicks by forcing her to pay twice for a single bike. She has the receipts, proving her story, and more importantly she also has a lawyer. She’s going to sue, and I hope she puts outfits like BET and tabloids like the New York Times into receivership.
