This one took a serious amount of forethought; and Pelosi's calculations must have come to pass as she expected. In fact, about as well as she could have wished! She has just about run the table, and when they arrest Trump, the deed will be done. Yet she also had to be careful to keep her fingerprints off the business to the extent possible, and even her theatrical nature was subdued to that end. So she will probably never receive the proper credit for this crippling of the Democrats' most feared antagonist. But she did it. She kept police and security at the minimum and she and others framed the event very shrewdly as the most dangerous assault on democracy ever. I am not sure Trump played into her hand, but he did and said just enough for them.

The gullible have bought it every step of the way. Here comes its climax. I hate to admit it, but it seems like her masterpiece.; 5/14/23, 6:53 AM

Since rebounding from last year's selloff to 12,269 back on Feb. 2, the Nasdaq Composite index continued to climb over the succeeding 3+ months to Friday's high of.... 12,364. That's 95 points, or less than 1%.

There was an intervening dip in late February, early March, but the Comp hit 12,227 on the last day of March and all its movement since, even intraday movement, has been confined to an extraordinarily narrow band in April and May to date.

Kai Akker said...: The main local pharmacy closed unexpectedly this past week. A sign in the window directs us to a Rite-Aid in another town. I'm told another independent pharmacy 10 miles away also closed recently, also with redirection to Rite-Aids. This local failure, even if they were able to sell out via their customer list, carried much more hurt than I would have expected to feel.
