My in-laws bought a beautiful condo overlooking the Willamette River, and looking north you can see the city of Portland. To the east, the view is fill with vistas of Mt. Hood.

Bonus, it's right next to the Portland State University campus.

They bought the place 12 years ago for $850,000. They promptly dropped $100,000 in cosmetic improvements.
