Brewers may reportedly relocate if $448M stadium renovations aren’t made.
I am sick of this crap. Billionaire owners wanting tax payers to pay to upgrade stadiums so they can make more money. I like watching the Brewers but I say enough, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!
"Katrina Trinko, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Signal, noted that the Associated Press took a claim from Target that conservative backlash against the company had turned “violent” at face value, prompting the news outlet to quietly amend the story.
“Again, what are the specifics? What is a threatening video?” Trinko wrote in a commentary article at the Daily Signal. “What constitutes angrily approaching a worker? How many customers at how many stores knocked down Pride displays?”
The Associated Press did not include an editor’s note in the updated version of their article explaining the reason for the change."
Fooled Gov. Goodhair, though...
"Trinko noted that California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom recently used the Associated Press article as the basis of a social media post claiming that there is a “systemic attack on the gay community happening across the country” bound to impact racial minority groups."
Based on the earlier thread, it fooled some of the leftists here, too.

Well we had a 9-0 and a 5-4 SCOTUS ruling this week that went unremarked by Althouse. Usually I’d expect the possible erosion of Chevron to entice her interest. I’m looking forward to reading it when she does.
https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/biden-primary-bid-limping-rfk-jr-williamson-gain-footing-cnn-poll Biden claimed the support of 60% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters in a CNN poll published Thursday. By contrast, challengers Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Hollywood guru Marianne Williamson claimed 20% and 8%, respectively. Overall, one-third of Americans, 33%, said Biden winning would be a step forward for the U.S. will two-thirds said it would be a "setback or disaster" for the country.
This raises a REAL Question: Are there Really 33% of americans working for the federal government? But, i suppose the 33% includes members of the media too. Seriously; WHO the HELL would think that another Biden term would be: 'a step forward' for the US?

To be absolutely clear, there is no known innocent purpose or explanation for why these algorithms exist. Now, that I am learning how ChatGPT operates, it seems that human language may well be less difficult, less unique and magical, than I had once thought. Conscious is poorly understood. I am not certain that I can stand here today and say that it cannot be replicated. There may in fact, be less to it than we think as well.
I do understand, however, the fear of Frankenstein. But certainly this development; a conscious AI, would hold more promise, than that development surveyed by Robert Oppenheimer when he looked out and exclaimed "I have become death, destroyer of worlds". Perhaps Lord Vishnu has the right words.

I know this is not the direction of your post. But it triggered a memory. 20 years ago a morning talk show host, did the work, and calculated that Half of the Iowa population, were employed by Government. Fed, State, County, City, Schools.

Government and academia, plus a few other smaller groups. This is one reason why Dems are so hard to beat—large (and growing) groups of people who have strong personal financial incentives to vote Dem, public and country be damned. The Rep base is neither so large nor so motivated. To compete, they have to pick up a large majority of the votes that are in play.

The most frustrating part is that sports teams get huge financial and local regulatory preference despite not making much of a contribution to the local economy. They don’t employ large numbers of people, most of their money goes to a small group that generally does not live locally, the stadium sits empty most of the year, so it’s not an anchor for local businesses, and even if you give them everything they want, there’s no guarantee they won’t and move anyway because someone else offered more.
@Lem the misspeller - That's a pretty remarkable report there, and the audit summary linked therein is just as remarkable. Thanks for sharing that link.

You know who could use the AI indistinguishable from a human?
President Joe Biden.

Missing Mallard Formation for Memorial Day?
I'll have to put some flags out this weekend--it's little enough.
Amazing, what can't this miracle vaccine not do?
Dr. Jessica Rose - Psyche symptoms (hallucinations) in VAERS associated with COVID injections. Something notable here is that there is a clustering around the younger folks (12-39). This is not usual, and I have only seen this in the context of syncope and specific cardiac malfunctions (myocarditis). So this indicates that reporting rates of psyche symptoms, seizures and depression are higher in young people.

Just about a year ago Normal meant pre-covid.
What does normal mean now?

Otherwise known as "Friday".
I remember the Seattle Pilots.
They played one season in Seattle, and then moved on to become the Milwaukee Brewers.
I once would have thought this:
