Goodbye to Tina Turner.

"Tina Turner, the earthshaking soul singer whose rasping vocals, sexual magnetism and explosive energy made her an unforgettable live performer and one of the most successful recording artists of all time, died on Wednesday at her home in Küsnacht, Switzerland, near Zurich. She was 83."

Became aware of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue in the '60s from their posters nailed on telephone poles all over my neighborhood. Rising up and away from Ike was a beautiful thing for her.

Oh man, that hurts. I've had a crush on her for years. Glad she was with us while she could be.

Say Ike and Tina Turner and the Iketts in 1965 at the Cinnamon Cinder in Long Beach, CA. Sat within touching distance of Tina as she performed. What an amazing experience. RIP you amazing woman.

One incredibly fabulous person, singer, and performer. She'll be back, but maybe not as a singer.

My goal in life in the 60s as a teenage boy was to grow up and marry Tina.

She was absolutely one of greatest performers of all time.

Sad to see you go, Tina. Rip

Probably my era but not my style.

I get the admiration for her singing, but could never understand the 'she's so hot' accolades...

I don't generally comment on celebrity deaths, but man, Tina was the best.

I had a friend who said he used to see Ike and Tina back when they played bars in downstate Illinois. He normally was the only white face in the audience. He learned not to sit close as she tossed a lot of sweat into the audience due to her frenzied style of performing. She was exciting.

Look, she was a hot chick with legs up to her neck. And she knew how to work it. Da Thing!
