"A neuropsychiatrist, [Dr. David] Williamson has been treating Fetterman. "He had markedly reduced motivation and drive," Williamson said. "The RPM in the brain, how fast you think and how clearly you think, is very substantially degraded when patients get depressed."
One can't help suspecting that the "very substantially degraded" thinking had to do with the stroke.

The people who put him up for this position, knowing how serious his stroke was, are simply more interested in getting and keeping power than life itself. Period. I include his wife in this.
I would love to see the raw footage from this interview. You can tell they have cut it up into lots of different pieces, and stitched it back together. Every single camara cut-away continues with just a slight discontinuity in Fetterman's words- a sudden extra fraction of a second, or a change in pitch or volume.
I certainly hope our elected officials care about living.
Fetterman will do as he's told.
Only the Democrats would nominate a head case to be Senator, probably because most of them think mental illness is normal.
Why was this on CBS Sunday Morning?
"since i'm a PAID shill... That is Here.. to make You look Good...
I will put LONG pauses.. in my speech...
In the Hopes.. That you will be able.. to keep up.....
I'm Hoping... That Maybe... People will NOT.. Realize..
Just how brain damaged... You Really are."
"Well thanx. I appreciate that."
Much like proxy statements in the world of finance, we now have proxy office-holders. Fetterman and Biden are two examples. Their handlers don't really care if they are functional; in fact, it's probably better if they're not, as long as they vote for or sign things as they're told.
The odds on getting the truth are next to zero.
"Hey, I've a good idea. Lets inflict the downsides of my illness on the country at large. I'll run for the Senate."
"He had markedly reduced motivation and drive,"
But others had enough drive to drive him to run.
"The RPM in the brain, how fast you think and how clearly you think, is very substantially degraded when patients get depressed."
Just to confirm that clarity of thinking is of no concern to Dem voters.
"One can't help suspecting that the "very substantially degraded" thinking had to do with the stroke"
Well, yes. But the degrading was obvious before the election. When another doctor lied about his fitness and the MSM did their best to downplay it. It really is a nice case study in Dem cynicism: they will do anything, with anybody, and say anything, however absurd, for the sake of power.
"markedly reduced motivation and drive"? If so, whose motivation and drive was it that led him to ignore medical advice in order to become a senator?
Fetterman himself or his wife are the only possible choices.
Vegetative? Catatonic? Depressed? What's the difference for the propagandists? I'm sure they market tested the options before saying he was 'depressed.'
Those of us who've known people with strokes know that there is no coming back. Never 100% back and maybe never 75% back.
Fettermann is an example of how Democrats will elect a retard.
Did they edit out the part where he said,"Jane, you ignorant slut, I'm not a circus freakshow attraction despite the fact that I look like one and I'm not going to discuss these intensely personal issues with you just so you can sell advertisements."
Also, Pauley's leaning in with those glasses and that puckered face and that preening solicitude gives me the creeps.
OT, but important!
If you’re a basketball fan, the women’s championship game today is worth a look. A good friend tells me,
“Caitlin Clark (Iowa) is the real deal. Never thought I could say that about a “chick” playing roundball.”
A sexist would say! But please excuse my oldtimey friend’s regional colloquialisms…
Anyways, I’ve heard great things about this young lady’s abilities and am looking forward to watching her. 12:30 PST today.
Whatever the treatment, Fetterman sounds better in this interview than he has in any previous public appearances. As with his brain's recovery from the stroke itself, I can't help thinking that having to endure the extra pressure of being a public figure is not optimal for him. But that is the life he's chosen.
I don’t think Fetterman is religious. That’s part of the problem.
Pro-Choice religious dysphoria.
This IDIOT "journ-O-list" actually thinks he could become president. The more I hear and see, the more I KNOW Progresives are mentally ill.

Twelve weeks in office with six of those in a psych ward. He couldn’t do any worse than Joe Biden, right??

President Fetterman? Jane Pauley thinks that's a realistic goal for him: "Your trajectory from mayor to Lt Governor, United States Senator, was still pointing up at 53 in politics, that's a young man. Can you have aspirations? Can you serve beyond the United States Senate?"
I believe Fetterman suffered a severe stroke. I believe his depression is real. I think he has strokes and depression episodes in his future.
I do not think his handlers and wife had his best in mind. I do think he had his wife in mind given his precarious life and death situation. His wife leaving when he was admitted to hospital was a planned escape. As a member of Congress, his financial future was assured. As was hers. Whether he survived or died, she would benefit from a lifetime income stream and she would not have to be concerned about his medical bills.
Sorry, I find Fetterman completely unintersting both as a man and as a Politican. I don't feel sorry for him. I dont dislkike him. I just don't care.
And it doesn't even matter that he's a Senator. you could grab any leftwing Democrat off the street, put him in the Senate job, and it would be the same. And if Fetterman was 100 percent healthy he would just follow the Schumer party line.
51 Democrats following Schumer like robots. None of them read the bills. All they have to do is vote the party line. Maybe someone could build a AI Democrat Robot Politican. It would save us the salary and secret service protection.
I had no idea Jane Pauley was still around. Thought she disappeared in the 80's. I even forgot that she's married to Democrat Party member and far-left asswipe Garry Trudeau.
I hope he gets better. But he'll still be surrounded by shitty people.
Mentally ill people cannot be allowed to hold political office in our country.
It's hard to turn away from watching a train wreck.
his scribes were not appreciably better,
Rabel said..."Also, Pauley's leaning in with those glasses and that puckered face and that preening solicitude gives me the creeps."
I always liked Jane Pauley, but I found her approach to this interview to be grotesque. Maybe I've become too cynical, but I have a very hard time imagining a similar approach being used for a Republican politician under equivalent circumstances.
If Fetterman had an R behind his name - non-stop ridicule from hack D press.
What they did too him - where he went. Glimpse of Demcratixix run health care - sooon.
"Mentally ill people cannot be allowed to hold political office in our country."
Why not? They are easier to manage if they do not possess their full brain function. There is a high level example of this, but the name escapes me.
"Fetterman is an example of how Democrats will elect a retard."
When he's in the same room as Biden they call him "the smart one."
"Democrat Party member and far-left asswipe Garry Trudeau. "
Between Biden and Fetty, job security.
I guess the Pennsylvania citizens who elected Fetterman truly and richly deserve to live with the consequences a brain damaged senator can inflict on all US citizens. Too bad those consequences can't just be limited to PA.
Reminds me of this from Planet of the Apes (1968), it's more like Sen Landon.

He seems like a man who was pushed along and finally broke. Not a man who will do as he’s told- just a broken man who listened to the wrong people.
Depression sucks the life out of you. I’ve watched it happen. I hope this man heals. Idk if he’ll continue in politics- I don’t care. He’d have been happy being mayor w/out climbing the ladder. He might have been exactly what the people wanted. Instead, they got to watch a man dying on his feet and not caring about it.
… and no one else caring about it, either.
Wow! A Gold Check ...

... we’re replacing the “official” label with a gold checkmark on some business accounts on Twitter. Soon, we’ll also add a gray checkmark for government and multilateral accounts.

Graciously said, doctor!
After my brain injury in 2015, doctors observed increased anxiety. Well yeah no question of that. The world feels much more noisy and stressful. One doctor said increased anger and depression. That surprised me. Partly because brain injury survivors commonly experience "flat affect". We don't feel as much any more. I've visited and ministered with many parishioners who survived strokes. The most common emotion I observe is intense frustration.
My point is this doesn't surprise me. We can empathize with the senator. But he should not have run for such high office.
