True. I deleted an earlier comment on this.

I was very precise in my complaint. Sen. Hunt opened the door when she informed the world that she has a daughter (age 12) who wants to become a boy. Sen. Hunt also said on the floor of the Unicam that her daughter gets her health insurance via Medicaid and that NE DHHS turned down the request four times. There is a NE DHHS reg. that prohibits this.

Nebraska law requires that a senator file a conflict of interest notice if a family member could financially benefit from proposed legislation. However, a farmer state senator who grows corn can vote on ethanol legislation because the law benefits a broad class of people. Per the Williams Institute estimate, there's a tiny number of trans minors in NE.

Hunt is a vocal opponent to LB 574 which would ban minors from getting trans surgery or drugs. After age 19, have at it.

Hunt and her friends have been filibustering every single bill this session. The session is nearly over and, I think, only 2 bills have passed. She's mad about this one bill and the fact that it keeps on advancing.

So, if LB 574 doesn't pass then the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine can continue in the trans business for minors. Nebraska Medicine cut off the healthy female breasts of a minor (Luka Hein) and then pumped her full of drugs. She's 21 now and regrets the pressure she and her parents were put under by the "experts" at UNMC. She has health problems now.

Hunt would have to file a lawsuit in federal court to force NE DHHS to pay for her daughter's medical services. (MT has paid $173k per year for "gender-affirming care" for minors.)

Remarkably, a federal court case out of Madison, WI would be a favorable precedent to force NE to pay for this trans business for kids on Medicaid. I wrote in my Complaint that I think she has a better than average chance of winning her case, in my legal opinion.; 4/27/23, 7:59 AM

Old and slow said...: Everyone loves to mock the Toyota Prius and its drivers. And to be fair, it is an ugly and underpowered car. What most fail to understand is this: the Prius has a superpower. You will never get a ticket in this car, and not just because it is slow. Cops simply do not see you as a potential target. Also, they aren't all that slow. Off the line, they have a great start because of the electric motor. You can jump into traffic moving 35 or 40 mph as quick as most any car, and if you have time you can get to 115 mph (I've done it). I've been pulled over a few times in mine, and always the cops are friendly and accommodating. I've never been cited, even when I couldn't find my proof of insurance. It has a second superpower that is great fun. You can make big pickup trucks drive as fast as you like. Just keep inching up on them, and they will keep going faster. It's a cute little argument, but however you couch it, the implication is that the people most impacted by the law shouldn't get to vote on its passage. She's supposed to recuse herself from all trans related laws? She can't have a say precisely because the law will impact her so personally? What about laws involving women getting obstetric care? Or the mortgage deduction? If the Republicans proposed a bill to raise taxes on Democrats, would the Democrats have to recuse themselves given their financial interest in blocking the passage of the bill?
