The purported "leak from the Pentagon" has strange features suggesting that the supposed info may be disinfo. First of all, a US Air Force Airman, basically a private, would not have access to the briefings. Someone gave them to him. Who? Why? Second, the statement that the Ukraine is losing 7 soldiers for every 1 Russian killed is simply false. In Bakhmut the Russian are attacking entrenched defenders and in those circumstances the attackers, that is the Russians, lose 3 or 4 times as many soldiers as the defenders.. Another example. Outside Kiev last year the Russians retreated, hardly the action of an army killing 7 Ukrainians for every Russian soldier. The Russians retreated again in September, yhis time from Kharkiv. Were they again victoriously killing 7 Ukrainians for every Russia just before a retreat? There's a reason for all this talk and for this leak at this time and here's what I think it is. The Ukrainians have got battle tanks at last and are now training on them. This is creating a delay which the Russians are filling with talk about a frozen conflict or about the Ukrainian casualty ratio and an inevitable loss. People I respect are against the Ukraine war but with all due respect this is not Afghanistan; we are not the invaders; our Army is not there. Most important - our money has bought weapons and assisted fighters who have crushed the Russian Army and destroyed its aura of invincibility. We couldn't have done better ourselves in a NATO war and with all the box-checking women in combat roles and all the wimps planning military strategy as a series of signals, we probably would have done worse. We've been saved - possibly by blackmail - but saved. We've been given time, a little, little while, to get a real leader as President. But oddly, the best leader we could get opposes the war that's going to bring him back. My response is: In a crazy world, I have faith in Trump's insight when he is back.
There is a lot of physics in that picture. A lot of complexity and underlying structure. If I were doing PBS painting, I could pull the trees down into the lake with my 2 inch brush and make those perfect reflections. I don't think there is a simple way to paint a duck's wake when the duck is curving. I could model it with finite element CFD and make a colorful jpeg, but no one would pay me to do it, it's a duck.

Mirror lake... with slight ripple.
Lovely.
That light is quite something.
And the duck is a nice touch.
A surreal photo. Beautiful!

Oh, my! As Mary Berry says about perfectly baked pastry, "That's a little bit of alright."
Awesome pic, thanks.
Makes me wonder what the duck thinks of that sunrise. Probably: “where’s breakfast?”
Via duct, vi not a chicken?
:0). I might like this one even better.
Embrace the blessings…
Classic duck a l'orange...
Amazingly beautiful photograph. The lake is so calm that the duck leaves a wake.
Exceptional.
I would pay to have a copy of this photograph to put on the wall in my home office.
I like the duck-inscribed arc.
You should print and frame this one.
Very nice.

It takes a still pool to reflect the stars.
Well, it takes a damn still lake to preserve the path of a duck for what, 20 feet?
