As much as I love Trump and think he would do a great job in a second term, he can’t win. He’s been demonized. And women hate him.

That's the root cause and the reason why many freely attack Trump with no fear of retribution. Many women indeed passionately hate him and it's easy enough to buy off / bribe others to push an opponent to victory. Men would reelect him no problem, but I don't see a 2nd Trump term in the cards.

I voted for the guy twice, knowing full well that he's a tireless self-promoter - but in politics many if not most people either are or get that way as their public profile rises. That in itself isn't a barrier, to me, to his election. But it is very enervating, and we can be sure that (even on Fox) instances of his self-promotion will be primarily what will be reported on, rather than anything resembling substance.
It's no wonder those who hate him hate him so much. They're barraged with stuff like this rather than reportage dealing with what he actually does or did, often in contrast to what he says or said (something that used to be part of the diplomatic and political skillsets - say what you must to keep things calm, do what is necessary and proper to further the aims of the country). He wasn't a perfect president (his own opinion no doubt notwithstanding), but he was very far from the mendacious buffoon those who hate him think he is.
And Biden is very much closer.
Look at Trump's vitality.
Compare/contrast to Biden.
This is a good juxtaposition for America as we debate age limits for elected office.

I'd be satisfied to simply know the names of each of the court officers, NYPD officers, and courthouse staffers who were crying, with tears streaming down their cheeks, and urging Trump to win in 2024.
Then we'd know what was fake.

I just read that Trump is suing Cohen for $500 million and any profits Cohen makes peddling his stories about Trump. Trump fights back, he doesn't quit. Somehow I think it's because he was raised at a church where the pastor taught the power of positive thinking. (Marble Collegiate church, led by the Reverend Norman Vincent Peale). That's the energy Trump exudes and what this country needs, and why so many people love him. That's what attracted me to him.
As far as whether there was anyone in NYC who got teary-eyed about Trump being booked and humiliated for political purposes, I bet there was at least one person there who was grieved about doing that. Just like I bet there were some officers at the Capitol on 1/6 and afterwards who were appalled by the corruption and deliberate incompetence of their bosses and how the American people were being gaslighted and duped by the powerful, and how the police were forced to do the dirty work for them. Might account for all the suicides afterwards, but I don't know.
