So how in the world did Mayor Beetlejuice lose the election yesterday in Chicago? Here's a clue:

Headline: "Chicago man arrested twice in same day for breaking into cars while wearing ankle monitor for two pending cases where he also broke into cars." (Notthebee)

wouldn't you Think, that the FIRST time they caught him breaking into cars, while wearing ankle monitor for two pending cases where he also broke into cars.. That they would have been able to hold him for overnight, at least? I guess i'm living in a Dream World

NBC News goes to Crimea and reports that people there support Russia, and ends up on the famous kill list of the Ukrainians, the one where people disappear or are simply murdered.

I'm giving this one the Althouse tag for "using children in politics."

Using kids to protest mask mandates with House Republicans.

Drugs given at end of life AND to hospitalized COVID patients in 2020 (LS #162)

When in retrospect, covid care recommendations appear to increase harm rather than decrease it. It's worse than skeptics suspected.

There is an odd silence that has fallen over the Althouse blog lefties re:Musk/Tesla & Twitter.

Could it be that Twitter has shed 80% of the useless lefty DEI fakers/Govt controlled censors/deep state plants and is working better than ever while simultaneously reworking the entire code code and algorithms from the ground up and offering improved services and functionality every week...
...all while...
...Tesla announced record sales, record production numbers and record profits and has fully recovered 100% of the 2022 post-Twitter acquisition stock price dip...
...all while...
...SpaceX has so thoroughly kicked the arse of Old Space Morons that ULA, yes, ULA, has announced it is now up for sale because it cant compete with SpaceX, and neither can the lefties/LLR's beloved allies-the ChiComs.

Needless to say Musk has once again moved into the lead as the world's wealthiest person, and Musk doesnt even own a home.

Remember, this dude was called a "clown" and a "bozo" by our Althouse blog democratical operative LLR Chuck.

Hardest hit? All the Usual Lefty Suspects: Gadfly, readering, LLR Chuck, Dumb Lefty Mark, gadfly and assorted other buffoons.

Glenn Greenwald: The term "media critic" is spoken snidely in elite circles, attempting to separate accountability for their failures from "real reporting."

But this distinction *deliberately* ignores how their corporate employers are among the powerful institutions MOST in need of scrutiny.

Pray for people like Glenn Greenwald and Matt Taibbi.

More reactions to Scott Adams.

These people are so much smarter and more honest and decent than Charles Blow.

I am actually surprised by the depth and breadth of agreement with what Scott Adams said. There are many many of these reactions and articles coming out and the support is overwhelming.

The pendulum is swinging.

I doubt Adams thought he would have been this successful with what he did.

The Center for Politics at the University of Virginia announced . . . that former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has accepted an appointment to serve as a Professor of Practice with the Center for Politics.

UVA President Jim Ryan welcomed the appointment, stating, “Our students will have an incredible opportunity to learn from Liz Cheney, who has fiercely defended democracy as part of a distinguished career. I’m delighted that she has chosen the University of Virginia and the Center for Politics as a next step, and I very much look forward to working with her.”

Professor Larry J. Sabato, director of the UVA Center for Politics, noted, “With democracy under fire in this country and elsewhere around the world, Liz Cheney serves as a model of political courage and leadership. Liz will send a compelling message to students about integrity. She’s a true profile in courage, and she was willing to pay the price for her principles — and democracy itself.”

If Mayor Pete really believes that climate change is the most important aspect of his job, he should have been working on improving freight rail from day one.

@gadfly. I am surprised Liz Cheney turned down the position at the University of Wyoming. The overwhelming need for janitors remains unfulfilled.

A sign that they are going someplace they shouldn't be doing something they shouldn't.

I guess attacks at night don't need to be prosecuted, according to our esteemed Attorney General, Merrick Garland. So, according the AG, if the attack on the Capitol had occurred at midnight instead of noon, there would have been no investigation and prosecution. Good to know!

"I thought we weren't believing mainstream media reporting from Ukraine."

I thought you did believe them, confusing indeed.

However, we did a poll (probably as a prelude to fomenting regime change) just prior to the 2014 coup in Ukraine, and only 15% of Crimean respondents identified as "Ukrainian." So it goes along with the evidence, and common sense, since Crimea has been Russian or Soviet for all but 15 of the last two hundred years, those fifteen years starting with Ukraine's SMO to forcibly annex Crimea in 1995.
