"My name is Joe Biden. I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband. And I eat Jeni’s ice cream — chocolate chip. I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream."

"By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs. You think I’m kidding? I’m not."

Remarkably, Biden again returned to the subject of ice cream with another shout-out to a rep from Jeni’s....
Remarkably?
“The businesses represented in this room stretch across industries, from restaurants to architectural firms to hardware stores, plus Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. And by the way — by the way, it is splendid,” Biden gushed.
The scheduled event involved businesses, including Jeni's, and the audience had businessfolk, including from Jeni's.
“If I were allowed to take you upstairs, you got a whole freezer full of Jeni’s chocolate chip ice cream,” Biden went on — closing his eyes slightly as if to reminisce about taking a bite. “You know it’s pretty dull when you’ve been in public life as long as I have and you’re known for two things: chocolate chip ice cream and Ray-Bans sunglasses, but what the hell,” the president added.

There are light and heavy things swirling all of the time around a President, so there are always opportunities to catch an awkward juxtaposition. Now, watch this drive:

And Presidents have always been known for their food preferences. If you loved Ronald Reagan, you loved knowing that he loved jelly beans. If you hated him, you may have felt enraged that he enjoyed candy while something terrible was happening somewhere.

Show some respect for the three 9-year-olds who were shot to death yesterday by refraining from using them for a cheap (and probably hypocritical) political point.

I'm pretty sure GWB would take back that golf moment if he could. Well, he did, right? He stopped golfing while POTUS.

Yes, a President will get caught in an awkward moment while events unfold. What happens afterward, though? That's the test of character. I don't care if Biden likes ice cream; I do care that he talks about it instead of other issues. How often did Reagan talk about jelly beans? I don't remember, but I think the press made more of it than he did. The bowl sat on the Resolute Desk and they ran with a story.

Even when Democrats have had a super in all houses of government, they have never passed such a ban. And they know the Supreme Court would strike it down anyway.

Biden has learned that the press will print his demand, knowing that it's a fake demand, to cover for these events occurring on the Democrat Party's watch. Which is why it was the SECOND thing he talked about after his ice cream fetish.

It's pablum for the idiot masses. And it's very effective. It works.

The president can't always be talking about the most important issue of the moment. The business leaders who organized this event deserve to have their event even if there is something else going on that counts as heavier news (this isn't unlimited, of course--the 9/11 massacre, for instance, superseded everything for a while). It's also absurd to demand the president look dour all the time when something serious has happened.

I don't believe anybody actually wants any of this, however much some people pretend to.

Refraining from cheap political points, that's the Biden way. What more respect could he show than by focusing on ice cream? Kids like it.

Why the allusion to hypocrisy? Does anyone expect Joe to call out a trans murderer for her (?) ideological terrorism?

So much to unwrap here. Not in the story, but in your reaction. Why is the Post being unnecessarily or unjustifiably "political"? Isn't there something deeply political about Biden's ice cream talk and aviator glasses? Isn't all that part of the political show? Wasn't all that concocted with a political aim in mind? Is the Post really being "political"? They are reporting something that happened. How did the Washington Post and New York Times report the story? Did they report it at all?

And how is the Post being hypocritical? Every media outlet has a tilt. The end result is that, if we take a wide variety of sources in, we get a bigger and better picture of events. I'm not sure that the paper would have avoided the story if it had been about Reagan or Trump or one of the Bushes, but I'm glad that somebody covers things that the rest of the media ignores. When Obama comes out after the Fort Hood shooting and gives a "shout out" to an acquaintance in the crowd it's not a big story, but it is a story, and if Trump had done the same it would have been made into a very big story.

And why the indignation about the Post and not about Biden coming out to talk about a tragedy and making it once again all about himself and the goofy persona his advisors have invented for him?

Biden is allowed to like ice cream. I'm sure the ice cream in question is quite good. The President is allowed to have fun. That's fine.

The entire problem here is it was completely inappropriate, and our President does not seem to understand that fact. Being President is supposed to be a sacrifice. We expect this person to lead. We also expect this person to care about us, or at least have the decency to fake it believably. Biden can't do that. So, we have a mass shooting involving children and the facts are not in, and his first thoughts are to give a shout-out for ice cream and push gun control legislation. I'm not sure which is the worse of the two.

To put it frankly, Biden is a jerk. This would be forgivable if he was good at his job, but he's a stupid, corrupt, mean jerk. It baffles me why anyone would want this man representing them in anything. The only question here is whether his lack of a filter is a product of his senility or if he has always been like this. I suspect it is both.

With royalty, there is always the excuse that the bad king is bad luck; he just happened to be the son of the prior king and had to be chosen. What's our excuse?

Show some respect for the three 9-year-old who were shot to death yesterday by refraining from using them for a cheap (and probably hypocritical) political point.

The cheap political point I will make is about hypocrisy. I would dearly love to someday see an online article, a print op-ed, or even a blog post which doesn’t begin “out of respect for the victims …” and go on to eschew making political points when the heinous incident can be plausibly blamed on someone right of center. I only ever notice calls for restraint “out of respect for the victims” when the perpetrator is clearly on the left side of the political spectrum. I’m pretty certain I know why thst is.

Still, I’m glad that I held off commenting on this atrocity until after reading the article by David Strom over on hotair.com and listening to Dr. Helen Smith’s discussion on Fox News this morning, as linked by proud husband Prof. Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit, because my first reaction was to be livid with rage. The LGBTQ (and God knows how many other letters)community has fetishized their hatred of Christianity and Christians, but murdering children for an ideology is beyond the Pale.

I admit to also being influenced by seeing the head of Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull (aka Posie Parker, not to be confused with Hollywood actress Parker Posey) covered in what appeared to be blood after an attack by someone described as a “trans activist.”

But Smith and Strom are right. The killer left behind writings described by authorities as a “manifesto.” We need to see what she had to say for herself prior to combining the murder of children with suicide by cop, before rushing to judgement. Especially after discovering that the red on Posie Parker’s head was tomato paste.

You misrepresented the Post's article. The Post story was this: Biden showed up, made jokes about ice cream, and only after joking around did he mention the school shooting. The Post was commenting on the grossness of this juxtaposition. You didn't even mention that he juxtaposed jokes with a school shooting : instead, you concealed what he said that was wrong and being criticized, then preemptively hectored us about something we didn't even say.

The article section actually reads:
"“By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs,” Biden added at his only scheduled public appearance of the day. “You think I’m kidding? I’m not.”
The president then turned serious to address the shooting at the Covenant School, in which three students and three staff members were killed, calling it “sick” and “a family’s worst nightmare” before demanding once again that Congress pass a ban on assault weapons.
Remarkably, Biden again returned to the subject of ice cream with another shout-out to a rep from Jeni’s, an Ohio-based chain with shops across the country, including a location near the White House.
“The businesses represented in this room stretch across industries, from restaurants to architectural firms to hardware stores, plus Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. And by the way — by the way, it is splendid,” Biden gushed."

I wondered why in the world Jjoementia/Pedo Pete would be celebrating business.
But of course:
"“My name is Joe Biden. I’m Dr. Jill Biden’s husband,” the 80-year-old president began his remarks at an East Room gathering of women-owned businesses."

Psychiatric dysphoria, exceptions, and incongruence. Distinguishes the stability of trans/neos from trans/homos and other classes in the transgender spectrum, which was clinically established at Johns Hopkins several decades earlier. The majority suffer from a progressive psychosis that is not aided through medical, surgical, and psychiatric corruption, and, in fact, the treatment aids and abets their dysfunction and abortive choice(s).

That said, mass abortion fields opened with psychiatric dysphoria, diversity (DIEversity), democratic/dictatorship, CAIR, etc. One step forward, two steps backward.

Then he snickered and responded to a reporter's question by saying that if Josh Hawley thought so, he probably didn't. He laughed throughout the exchange.

Repeatedly laughing at and joking about murdered children. If they were Jewish congregants or children and staff at a black school, the White House flag would be at half-mast; Biden would declare national mourning, and the FBI would be helicoptering in to begin hate crime investigations so they could statistically file both state and federal hate motivated deaths.

Any "terfs" commenting negatively about the trans killer would be investigated.

The picture of raw political abuse of these hate laws, and how they dehumanize unwanted groups to the point of mocking them in their time of suffering, grows ever clearer. No ice cream this time, eh?
