I commented a few days about the 51 intelligence officials who stated the information on the Hunter Biden laptop was likely Russian disinformation. It was clear that publishing their letter was to influence the 2020 election so as not to harm Biden. But why would they risk their reputations publishing the letter? Surely they knew the information was factual. Did they think the truth would be buried forever? Did they have that much confidence (hubris) in the deep state to cover for them? Or were they just stupid? Stupid? Couldn't be. After all, these were our top intelligence personnel.
The level of distrust in our national leadership continues unabated.
I have been forced, against my will, for family reasons, taking care of a loved one, to spend the winter in Florida again. I just want to say, the robins are gathering up into large flocks, so they are on their way north as we speak.
"It is plausible that Ray Epps worked with the FBI, but the MSM's unusual support of him, along with the Jan. 6 committee's removal of him without charge adds more proof that Ray Epps is being shielded by the Democrats,"
"I think they were looking for other things because they knew that Republicans were going to be taking over the Congress and would have subpoena power, and Republicans could subpoena UPenn to turn over all those documents and all those records. If the records are not physically at UPenn, Republicans in the House can’t [subpeona UPenn). They’d have to subpoena Biden, which raises all sorts of issues.
So I think that this was a cleansing operation conducted by Biden’s lawyers. Why else would lawyers be doing this rather than just hire a moving company and move the boxes? I think this was a cleansing operation. And in the course of that cleansing operation, the Biden lawyers were like, oh crap, we’ve got classified documents in here. What do we do now?"
"But why would they risk their reputations publishing the letter? . . . Did they think the truth would be buried forever? Did they have that much confidence (hubris) in the deep state to cover for them?"
They enhanced their reputation as Dem servants. They followed the Reid rule: what matters about a lie is that works. Not only the deep state would cover for them. Which one of them has paid any price?
For that matter, has any Dem paid any price for any lie? Schiff, a small one, thanks to the GOP majority. But even Ilhan Omar, who has brazenly lied about her own family circumstances, only got in trouble for her rank anti-Semitism. And of course, as another post reminds us, 99.99% of Dems are expected to line up behind Joe. His untruths are clear to all; it does not matter, and his "reputation" among Dems is fine.
Hunter himself has yet to be prosecuted for the actual crimes he committed, even leaving bribery out of it. So what does any Dem care?
The 51 intelligence officials haven't damaged their reputations at all. Not with the people who matter. They lied. Everyone knows this, and many people approve wholeheartedly. That's what is really unfortunate. There is no cost to them reputationally or otherwise.
The FBI has arrested two people with "extremist views" in a plot to blow up some Baltimore power substations. I just wonder how much help these two had from the FBI in planning these attacks. I don't trust the FBI anymore and any plot that they foiled must be assumed to be suspect until proven otherwise.
I see that the government is mandating systems that "detect driver impairment" and shut down the car. My car has a system that is intended to detect when the driver is weary, and suggests a coffee break. It goes off a lot of times when I am in construction zones where the lanes are narrowed. Imagine if it shut my car down and parked it in a construction zone with no shoulders.
Damn Global Warming. Without that terrible CO2 effect the temps could have reached minus 80F and set a record. Oh yeah, they already did that in New England last week.

As a reminder, the Constitution allows for one member of the House of Representatives for every 30,000 inhabitants. So that means up to about 11,000 members of the House, But we have 438.

Bleak, cold, forlorn. Others have been here before us - I see the tracks; I hope they have survived.

A human being is a rational mammal.

Beyoncé is the winningest Grammy award winner of all time and I can’t remember one of her songs.
I’m no expert but her songs are just not memorable.
That pic could be the cover of a sci fi dystopian novel about Ice Planet...

WTF can you see from a high altitude balloon that you can’t see from a satellite?

US resolve or lack of it.

Bingo.
