Nobody in Miami Says ‘Latin_’

Five Latino members of the Connecticut Legislature co-sponsored a bill last month to ban the word “Latin_” from all state documents. As lawmaker Geraldo Reyes Jr. put it recently, “We don’t really use it, and we find it very offensive.”

So it looks like Joe Biden authorized an act of war, not only against Russia, with its 6,000 nukes, but our ally, Germany, and he authorized it long before Russia moved into Donbas..

The CIA argued that whatever was done, it would have to be covert. Everyone involved understood the stakes. “This is not kiddie stuff,” the source said. If the attack were traceable to the United States, “It’s an act of war.”

They went to great lengths:

There was a vital bureaucratic reason for relying on the graduates of the center’s hardcore diving school in Panama City. The divers were Navy only, and not members of America’s Special Operations Command, whose covert operations must be reported to Congress and briefed in advance to the Senate and House leadership—the so-called Gang of Eight. The Biden Administration was doing everything possible to avoid leaks as the planning took place late in 2021 and into the first months of 2022.

Then there is this:

On September 26, 2022, a Norwegian Navy P8 surveillance plane made a seemingly routine flight and dropped a sonar buoy. The signal spread underwater, initially to Nord Stream 2 and then on to Nord Stream 1. A few hours later, the high-powered C4 explosives were triggered and three of the four pipelines were put out of commission. Within a few minutes, pools of methane gas that remained in the shuttered pipelines could be seen spreading on the water’s surface and the world learned that something irreversible had taken place.

An unreliable acoustic trigger explains why the fourth pipeline failed to explode. The triggering sound had to be carefully filtered electronically, to prevent the device from triggering by accident. If this is the case, Sweden knowns exactly who blew up the pipeline, because they would have found the fourth bomb intact, which explains why the Swedes just recently passed a law against investigative reporting that might cause tension with NATO partners. They made it illegal for any Swedish reporters to use their connections and report on this.

McCarthy will never impeach Biden over this, because McCarthy and McConnell both love this war that John McCain set in motion.

U.S.-Led West Opposed Peace Deal in Ukraine
Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said Russia and Ukraine seemed eager to end the fighting early last year. But the U.S. and its allies had other plans.
According to Bennett, Russian President Vladimir Putin made two major concessions during their March 5 meeting. First, he renounced “denazification”—that is, regime change in Kiev. Second, he dropped his demand for Ukraine’s demilitarization. Bennett said President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to abandon Ukraine’s pursuit of NATO membership in exchange. Both Putin and Zelensky seemed eager to end the fighting. But the U.S. had other plans.

Who's War Is this? Russia's? The Ukraine's? They BOTH seemed to be MORE THAN WILLING to end it.
BUT; the USA said.. NO WAY!! We won't stop (funding) this war, until EVERY slav is DEAD!

Testified today. Heartbreaking testimony from many witnesses. A college student said that Nebraska Medicine whacked off her healthy breasts at age 16. She regrets it and has gone back to being a woman.

One thing I said is that the parents and docs need to ask themselves, “What if I am wrong?”

All of this is experimental on children.

Giant leftwing moneymaking scam.

A trans man said that after age 42, over $1m had been spent on him converting from a woman to a man. As a woman, he gave birth to two children but is totally against this trans stuff for kids.

It was all very emotional. I was astounded. Very, very sad.

Matt Taibbi alerts followers to a tremendous piece by Jeff Gerth at the Columbia Journalism Review: The press versus the president, part one.

My own take: The press biggest black eye - The Trump/Russia collusion hoax.

From Matt's review:

Gerth’s story is a long, weedsy tale, and though some have described it as hard to read, I disagree. The piece is a thorough chronicle of a classic tale of human folly, describing how a business that depends on independence of thought, honesty, and a strong instinct for self-preservation to survive, fell victim instead to herd-think and walked en masse off a very high cliff. The story is scrupulously documented, as Gerth worked hard to get everyone from Woodward to former FBI spokesman Mike Korten to Donald Trump on the record, providing an immediate contrast to the anonymous “people familiar with the matter” (an attribution used a thousand times by the Times in the Trump years, Gerth notes) who propped up so much of the Russiagate reporting. It’s conspicuous that the people who mostly refuse comment in this article are the reporters themselves, who clearly still haven’t grasped what happened here and what they need to face to save their profession.

But really, what do we make of an act of war against both Russia and Germany?

I am sorry to see so many commentators -- many of them people whose comments I normally appreciate and generally find to be incisive -- have fallen for Seymour Hersh's latest hoax. Hersch performed a great service to the United States when his reporting exposed the My Lai massacre. However since then he has been at best slipshod and at worst so eager to push a scandal that his storytelling would embarrass the gossip columnists of a half century ago.

For instance, were you aware that John Kennedy was married before he married Jacqueline Bouvier? And he never divorced his first wife (Catholic, you know, back when that meant something) so his marriage to Jackie was bigamous? That's one of Hersh's hoaxes. There are plenty more, and you can find a few of them listed on Wikipedia.

So who blew up the Nordstream pipeline? There's a very plausible discussion of what most likely happened at this weblog. Seems pretty plausible to me. I can picture a Russian muckety-muck ordering an underling to turn on the pipeline, the underling trying to explain why it will take weeks to clear hydrates out of the pipeline and make it safe to pump, and the muckety-muck asking whether the underling wants to spend the next few years in Siberia. Very easily I can picture that.

There was a follow up post by the same blogger that adds information, unsurprisingly information that supports the first post. Both are very good reads.

All the noise in the news about the Chinese balloon took up a week's worth of news, but we have waited what seems like forever to have Seymour Hersh, famed for his 1968 My Lai massacre and the mid-2000s Abu Ghraib scandal news, claim that U.S. Navy divers rigged the Nord Stream I and Nord Stream II pipelines in the Baltic with C-4 explosives set to be exploded remotely by the good guys.

Gospace said...

There are only a few countries that could blow up a pipeline in the manner Nordtram was blown up. We're one of them. Russia is another. Alomost of the littoral countires alond the path of the Nordstram pipeline. And Great Britain.

I just googled and duckduckgoed images of the damaged pipeline. And several of the pics I've seen look like weld failure, which usually comes from internal overprssure, like as from a water hammer- or gas pipeline equivalent. One pic- which I'm not sure was a picure of a hole and not a pipeline failure, showed metal bulgin out- another undication of internal failure.

I'm still not convinced it wasn't poor quality material used in construction combined with typical Russian careless operation that caused the failure. Take a look at this pic- teh most common pic found- from the Moscow Times:
https://static.themoscowtimes.com/image/article_1360/a1/6345345345-3.jpg

Looks like a smooth metal surface all around- indicataive of a poor weld that failed. I'd like to see anyone duplicate that with an underwater pipe section and an external explosion. I couldn't find ANY pics with a hole in the pipeline, just pics of complete pipe severing. WHich would be extremely difficult to do with external explosives.

And- all the breaks, not holes, breaks reported as holes, came near a bend. Where fluid hammer would have the most effect.

Since none of the ppics show metal caved in there's one of two possibilities.
1. The powers that be have censored all the photos showing such evidence- which is odd considering at least one nation says it was an external explosion.
2. It wasn't an external explosion.

I've seen the aftereffect of a small diameter pipe failure caused by a fire INSIDE the pipe combined with sudden pressure increase caused by that fire. Welded seamed pipe, not drawn. All teh failures were aling the seam, none at the pipeline joints, and every one of the holes was bulged out. I've also seen copper pipes break apart due to water hammer and poor solder joints. They break smoothly right at the joint. Haven't seen any poor weld joints come apart. But- the pics that are shown of Nordstream look just like one should look.

LOL. Joe Biden, who is a famous blabbermouth, openly stated that the US had the means, and would end the pipeline, "one way or another." If it were a structural failure, the Swedes would have found it during their examination of the rupture, and announced it to the world. Instead the Swedes passed a law forbidding the publication of stories that might hurt their relations with NATO.

https://twitter.com/MarkAmesExiled/status/1594760417997623298

Here is the refutation of the story summed up:

"Joe Biden would not be that stupid, it's the Russians that are stupid!"

Good luck with that one. We know that Joe Biden is reckless and stupid, look at his open corruption, look at how he refused to negotiate with the Russians and broke up the negotiations that could have brought peace to Europe, and now hundreds of thousands are dead or maimed.

tim in vermont said...

"it will take weeks to clear hydrates..."

Three of them all at the same time in the same spot, but not the fourth? Sweden's careful examination of the spot would turn up no evidence of this? I know it's hard to believe that our government could be so reckless, and your judgment rests on this idea, but Joe Biden is our president now.

There is a huge propaganda payoff if you can convince people that an enemy is as stupid as Joey in Friends, because you can use it to explain why that enemy would do things that are plainly against its own interests, things that you are doing to it. You shouldn't underestimate adversaries. It's dangerous.

Germany is so mad they are doing everything they can to tap out on this little adventure in Ukraine of Joe Biden's, they hinted in the London Times earlier this week that they didn't believe it was the Russians and that the west was probably behind it. Immense pressure had to be applied to Germany to give Ukraine main battle tanks, which they plainly did not want to give. Germany would know if Sweden had concluded it was an industrial accident. Most likely Sweden found an unexploded fourth bomb.

One of the best ways to validate a theory, in absence of direct evidence, is if it can make predictions. Hersh's story claimed that the Navy used an untested acoustic trigger mechanism, and the sound had to travel across all four bombs from a single point. This is from Hersh's story.

From real life we had the mystery of why only three of the four pipelines exploded. This is not something Hersh pointed out, but it falls out from his theory. Sweden investigated, found it was definitely sabotage, not broken welds. Sweden passed a law making it illegal to print any leaks about the investigation. This is also something that Hersh did not point out, but adds weight to his theory.

The Hersh's report was very detailed. There is really no need to judge the report by Hersh's credibility, he has broken true stories, and stories that turned out to be false, probably. The story needs to be judged in an of itself. The story adds up, only the denials are vague and completely without evidence. If you were angry that your country had committed an act of war and found ways to circumvent the legal requirements to notify Congress, Sy Hersh is exactly the kind of guy you would go to.

I don't wish our new Senator I'll, but I wonder if he's not diligent about self-care. Reported today (Epoch Times):

"Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman spent Wednesday night in a Washington, D.C. hospital after feeling lightheaded at the Senate Democratic retreat.

“He left (the retreat) and called his staff, who picked him up and drove him to The George Washington University Hospital,” according to a Wednesday night statement from his Communications Director, Joe Calvello. “Initial tests did not show evidence of a new stroke, but doctors are running more tests and John is remaining overnight for observation. He is in good spirits and talking with his staff and family. We will provide more information when we have it.”

Fetterman’s health was under scrutiny after he suffered a stroke on the campaign trail the weekend before the May primary.

At the time, Fetterman said the stroke was caused by a clot from his heart being in an atrial fibrillation rhythm for too long.

After the stroke, his speech pattern changed and he sometimes garbled his words or had halting speech as he struggled to find certain words.

Fetterman, a Democrat, agreed to just one debate with challenger Republican Mehmet Oz, but required closed captioning of the questions to manage what his campaign called auditory processing issues.

I wouldn't put it past the Biden administration, but there is a lot more Russian incompetence than there are CIA ideas. So unless someone who was directly involved comes forward I'm going to go with incompetence. Petroleum/natural gas pipelines are labor intensive. They have to be monitored all the time. Even more so when they run underwater.

Hersh and I are far from being ideological bedfellows, but I have recently come to appreciate that rejecting someone's reporting because of their political biases can be self-defeating. See Greenwald and Taibbi for example. Hell, Robert Cook gets plenty right as well, and I disagree vehemently with most of what he professes to believe.

NJ Councilman Shot Dead 1 Week After Councilwoman Was Killed in Her Car

"A New Jersey city’s council member, Russell Heller, was shot dead in his car, coming about a week after another New Jersey council member was killed, officials said.

Heller, 51, was found shot and killed outside of his vehicle at the PSE&G facility in Franklin Township, the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office said. Heller, a Republican, was a senior distribution supervisor at PSE&G, according to reports.

“The Milford Borough Council is deeply saddened by the loss and our hearts go out to his family,” Milford Mayor Henri Schepens told the New Jersey Star Advance publication. “He was so full of life, it’s just unbelievable that he’s gone. Something like this has never happened in borough history. We are very shaken by this.”

A week ago, Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour, also a Republican, was shot and killed inside her SUV outside her home about 15 miles away. Her home is located about 15 miles away from where Heller, a council member for the city of Milford, was reportedly killed.

The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, in a statement issued Wednesday, indicated that the shooting appears to be an “isolated incident.” An investigation into the matter is ongoing, officials said.
