"Transgender rapist Isla Bryson moved to men's prison."

BBC calmly reports.
Isla Bryson was remanded to Cornton Vale women's prison in Stirling after being convicted of the rapes when she was a man called Adam Graham.... Bryson decided to transition from a man to a woman while awaiting trial... She was taken to a male wing of HMP Edinburgh on Thursday afternoon... after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that Bryson would not be allowed to serve her sentence at Cornton Vale.
The Scottish Parliament passed legislation last month aimed at making it easier for people to change their legally-recognised sex, but Ms Sturgeon has said the changes did not play any part in the Bryson case.
J.K. Rowling reacts with fury:

I'm not saying that I hope he meets the predictable fate most sex criminals meet when they're discovered in the general population of men's prisons, but I'm certainly thinking it loudly.

J K Rowling is 100% right about everything she says here. So is George Orwell. Proof that the apocryphal Chinese curse is true "May you live in interesting times". The trans madness (and I use that term in it's true sense) and eco-catastrophism, and identity politics driven racism will be as interesting to any future historians as late Roman decadence is to many current students of history.

A cis man can rape another cis man in a public bathroom and cis woman can rape another cis woman. These things have happened before. Why do these potential rapists get less scrutiny that one who is trans?

You should check out the book/video Cormoran Strike (or CB Strike in the states).
They're written by some guy named: Robert Galbraith.. And are excellent.
WHY? Why should you care? Well, because they're really good crime stories for one reason.
For another reason...

Transgender pedophile rapist convict is bad enough. Is "Katie" also a furry?

I can't tell what Rowling is upset about. That Graham aka Bryson is being transferred to a men's prison, or that Dolatowski isn't? Or the "inconsistency"? One difference is that apparently Graham committed his crimes while he was a man, and Dolatowski's crimes were after transitioning (as best as I can tell). Maybe they both should just be held in isolation.

It seems to me that JK Rowling is really being criticized because Our Betters have begun to realize what she is saying in her adult fiction, her detective series following Cormoran Strike, and his sidekick/partner, Robin Ellacott. This series lays out the squalors, distresses and strengths of present-day English society in Dickensian detail. It does not attack gays, gay marriage or transitioning or the administrative state or secularism or the aristocracy or men - the series just shows that no social group is free of predatory, dangerous criminals and no social change has freed society as a whole from them. And it shows that the pretense that a given social group is pure and free of predators enables them. Knowing who the other person is and knowing yourself is key.
There are social groups that are doing well by their members and members who are doing well by their social group. In such groups people know each other - families, small towns, small groups of friends in London.
As far as knowing yourself goes, it's over-simplifying to say that Cormoran Strike has to come to understand that a deep bond with one of the most beautiful models in the world will not solve his problems and might even be his worst one; it's also over-simplifying to say that Robin Ellacott has to come to understand that life as a DINK, married to a handsome, athletic, caring man while ascending one's own career ladder, may not be all a woman could ever want. But it's subversive to be writing a series that seems to be in the vicinity of such thinking about society and the person. And Our Betters are trying to make Rowland pay for thinking, making her the first women in the group of Non-Conforming-Billonaires-Who-Must-Be-Brought-Low. The Gang of Four - Trump, Ye, Musk, Rowland. Yay, team.

I think it's quite possible to like J.K. Rowling more for her tweets than her novels. I just went to her tweet site. She focuses attention on those who are being beaten and executed in Iran for their transgressions against the current regime's position on woman's rights. These people are genuine martyrs. They don't seem to get much publicity elsewhere, particularly among LBGTetc groups in western countries.....Why? Does Islamophobia trump homophobia? Are western activist groups more opposed to J.K. Rowlings than to some of the indisputably worthwhile causes she champions?....Re transgenders: I'm sure that there are some who are perfectly okay and face down the challenges of their lives in an honorable manner. I'm also sure that there are others who have lots of attendant resentments and anger about their condition and about the way they are treated for their condition. I personally don't know any transgenders and don't know the proportion of sane, well-adjusted transgenders versus those who are acting out that anger. The bet here is that Hollywood and the media will present all transgenders as admirable and exemplary and that nowhere will you find a discussion as to whether might, in fact, be wrong as regards to some of their demands.

I can do without rapist pictures on page 1.

For the plain and obvious reason that women are more vulnerable to sexual assault than men are.

There is a secondary reason that, on some level, the Scots know their gender policies are insane, and they want to avoid having the insanity exposed in such stark relief.

a person that was born a man (that is to say: a man) is generally bigger and stronger than a woman.
So, if you allow men to go into women's restrooms, you're making it Easier for them to rape
If you allow them to go to women's prisons.. You're making it a LOT easier to rape.

Also (and i'm going to Pretend that you don't know this); men are a LOT more likely to be rapists

The Orwell quote sums it up nicely.
As I understand it, "transitioning" is a very fluid phrase. It doesn't define any particular action. AFAIK, one can simply dress up as a woman and be considered "transitioning".

If a cis woman who looks and dresses masculine uses the women’s room is that ok? What about a cis woman who looks like a man? I suppose they would be suspected as being trans rapists. So how does it work? Do we police what kind of clothes people wear in public bathrooms? I’m sure genital inspections are not far behind, if that’s case. Watch out.

Kay said...

If a trans person who passes as a woman uses the women’s room how would anyone know without inspecting genitals?

Kay said...

Regardless of what you think of trans people, dress codes and genital inspections for using a public restrooms seems like authoritarian overreach by the gov.

Cis- or same-sex? Trans/homosexual. Yes, that's a problem that has been covered-up with AIDS recharacterization as an "STD", homophobic projection, etc. for social progress.

Yes, both of these are fine. Very few rapists have vaginas. However, it may be off-putting to women in the restroom because they may not realize the person is a woman.

I didn’t doubt that they would be allowed, I just don’t think that they should be suspected of being rapists because of how they dress or look nor should they have to have unwanted encounters with the police because of it.

To your point about rapists with vaginas, it’s worth mentioning that statistically trans people are much more likely to be the victims of rape than the perpetrators.

Because a "trans woman" with a dick is quite a bit different than a "cis woman."

What’s with all the retrograde binary thinking? I thought we’d moved beyond that by now. Man/woman isn’t either/or, it’s a continuum, along which people must be allowed to flow freely, as their true inner identities manifest themselves from moment to moment.

Tina Trent said...

Mtp: cis is a slur, engineered by both gay and trans activists to slur heterosexuals until all the trans jerks realized they could also punish the gays and lesbians who gobbled up all the grant money by defining them as cis too.

It's all a giant pissing match for power on the left and money from the feds - cough -taxpayers.

Stop calling me cis. I don't call people faggots. It's the same thing.

If he identified as an 11 year old girl, are we suggesting he could serve his time in a Girl Scout Troop?

Even a Youth facility for girls?

I have a simplistic view, I suppose, if someone has a functional penis and uses it to rape women, that person should not be "punished" by incarceration in a woman's facility.

In some cases nuance is for fools.

Tina,

I used the word cis in a quote.
I agree it is a slur, but I don't come unglued when I read it. I don't think SJWs are serious people, and I don't take them seriously.
