The woods at midday.

IMG_4455

It was 12:36 p.m. and snowing when I took this picture today. This is a full color photograph, with absolutely no adjustments made to it. It looks so black and white, but there is a slight blue cast to the snow and some brownness to the twigs.

well, The Good News Is: Our Abrams Tanks are (fairly) old tech, so; it won't be That Bad, when the russians take a couple (by hook or by crook*).. So, the russians (and the chinese) won't learn THAT MANY secrets from them.

by hook or by crook*
1st the crook: the Ukraine, is The Most Corrupt place on earth; Every Thing is for sale
2nd, the hook: if you don't think the Ukrainians will lose (at least) one in battle, you don't know much about battle**

don't know much about battle** here's your chance, to say "we didn't lose any in desert storm!"
and then *i* can say, yes; we Recovered those (4?) that were destroyed on the ridge.. BECAUSE we captured the ridge. If/WHEN the Ukrainian M1s get hit; it's unlikely that they'll hold their ground***
it's unlikely that they'll hold their ground*** and HERE is your chance to say "The Ukrainians will Walk right over the russians.. which will be MY chance to say: Keep Dreaming

these March-December romances are the last of the bigotries, I swear to God

Or is it April-December?

I don't think it's May-December.

I'm going to have to google the motherfucking rom-com chicklit thesauraus.

And Mr. Blogger has helpfully red-lined "motherfucking" and "chicklit" and "thesaurus" and I had to do six fucking spelling attempts to get the red-line off thesaurus.

"Damn if I'm going to Mr. Google to get any help spelling thesaurus!" That's what I say.

Now that I've conquered the spelling universe, I can with confidence tell Mr. Blogger that "motherfucking" and "chicklit" are both words. One or both might possibly need a hyphen. The English language is dynamic, you stupid robot, and you need to up your game. That's right.

This post would be funnier if you could see the fucking red lines like I can. Blogger is Satan with a red fucking pencil.

Where was I? Oh yeah, I don't know what month I am in this damn feminine universe where age differences have crossed the space-time universe and somehow morphed into months on the fucking calendar.

I'm willing to call it a January-December romance, if that's what it is. January-December, I'm so far away, I've gone around the fucking calendar and now I'm right next door to her month. Which is confusing as shit.

Why are Saudi Arabia’s M1 Abrams tanks being knocked out so easily in the Yemeni War?
In short:

1). the Saudis aren’t employing the tanks properly.
2).The tanks aren’t designed to do this kind of work.
3). The enemy has learned how to destroy this kind of tank.
4). The Saudi soldiers aren’t trained like Americans, and are not nearly as proficient, or aggressive.

I did some math on the federal budget. If congress wanted to reduce spending to pre-covid levels, and if congress refused to make cuts to defense, medicare (not medicaid), social security, and interest, then congress would need to reduce the rest of government spending by 44%. Who thinks this will happen? The size of gov't will not be shrinked (shrunken? shrunkened? shrank? shrankened? well you know what I mean).

a desire to "keep it real" and so to squirt some ugliness (I think I just got an R rating) into the canvas of life

more common humanity

a release of tension from any uptight crusading

a belief that down here in the commentary it's funny and not-so-public

semi-anonymous children who scoff at authority

more fucking humor

Follow up question (I really don’t know) can a defendant use a law library to determine their answer to questioning and what questions to answer? If they were quick about it, why would that be a problem?

Can a defendant elicit the assistance of another person, for defense, even if that other person is not a lawyer?

Humperdink, I love your stuff. It's short, it's pithy, it's very good. In many ways, you are a better poster than I am.

@Saint Croix. Back in the day this language would have been labeled controversial (see Howard Stern). Not anymore. We have moved so far past controversy it's laughable.

I'm not sure that you read my post at 10:06. Maybe if you cite the language that offended you? That might help.

I will try again to explain again why I like and use the word "fuck."

I like sex.

Now you should probably explain why you dislike the word "fuck."

(It's a complicated word with many meanings, and it can have positive or negative connotations. It's a bad word, but it's not a simple word).

For instance, I think "fuck" is a powerful word because it references all of human history. Sex is the profound and hugely important way that humanity reproduces. Heterosexual sex is key to Darwin, for instance.

Fuck is also a bad word among Christians and other moral thinkers because we know it references sex outside of love, and often leads to horrific atrocities like rape and infanticide.

I get mad when authoritative people want to focus on my bad language, while these nice and proper people say it's "right" to stab a baby in the middle of birth.

I veer back and forth between my love of fucking ("Fuck!"), and my hatred of infanticide (...fuck...)

Sometimes people get confused by this. You can either quit reading me, or pay a little more attention.

I'm happy either way.

It would appear you are fully on board with the direction our society is taking.

I'm guessing you have not read my book.

I always ask the question: Is this the language I want my children and grandchildren to hear/ read from me?

I have yet to ask the question, "Are you going to abort my baby?" to women that I like. But it's floating around in the back of my mind. It kind of fucks up my sex life, to be honest.

That's the not-so-notorious "Fuck the Draft" case.

Guy walks into a courtroom with "Fuck the Draft" written on his jacket.

Nowadays it would be "White People Matter."

Oh my God! White people matter! The violence! The Klan! Hate groups! Call the FBI! White people matter!

Anyway, 50 years ago, the cops arrested you in California if you want to have sexual relations with the draft.

Which sounds like a fucking metaphor?

He's not even fucking human beings and we're arresting him.

Okay!

"We have to stop this sexual predator before he realizes that his mindless draft-fucking might through ESP thought-transference impregnate the helpless females that I am sworn to protect."

Or something. Couldn't tell you, it's too fucking stupid.

Two years later, when Jane Roe shows up, Harry Blackmun is freaking out. "I knew that Fuck the Draft fucker was up to no good! Look what happened. Pregnancy! The horrible pregnancy! We have to stop that. Immediately."

When told that she was not, in fact, pregnant, Harry realized it was too late. The Fuck the Draft fucker had fucked her and she was fucked and the baby was out.

"Damn it!" said Harry, furious that he had not thwarted this reproduction from the lower classes. "I told you about fucking the draft! What did I say? You can't have boys showing up fucking the draft. That's not what drafts are for. And this fucker fucked the fucking draft, it was a humpa humpa humpa, and now we've got a damn baby running around on two legs. Another one! And we'll never get a chance to stop this evil unless we pretend she's pregnant, a sort of pregnancy simulacrum! And we'll abort the shit out of this avatar. Who gives a damn, anyway, it's all words. We all know biology doesn't exist in the U.S. Reports."

I guess this was directed at me, since you started off by quoting from my comment.

It is hardly rare anymore to encounter the F-bomb in print. Dialogue is often full of it. Narration less so, but still not what anyone could call rare. Although they made Norman Mailer spell it with a g, way back when.

IMO, Saint Croix, your writing would be better without the forced bravado. It sounds like it's trying way too hard that way. YMMV but many will just COB.

Go on Twitter and look at the Damar Hamlin trend. Crazy. Unbelievable. During the Bills -Bengals game they never showed his face.

I don’t know what it is…but best comment I saw was, “I’ve seen clearer pictures of Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster than I saw of Damar Hamlin on Sunday.”

Yeah it was snowing, but the far shots of him were with distant with sunglasses, hoodie, and neck mask up to his nose. And the video of when they golf cart him to the Bills locker room, they’re treating him like he’s going to testify against the mob…still with the hoodie, and neck mask up to his nose. If Oswald would have been protected like that, he’d be alive.

Josh Allen the Bills QB in a recent podcast interview, when asked if he was duped by a fake Damar answers... "I don't think I was". He doesn't say, NO. I shook his hand. It was Damar... Josh Allen says basically, I don't think I was duped.

If you watched the game, which I assume many of us did, you don’t remember seeing his face either.

If Walter Payton survived a heart attack on the field in 1985, and showed up two weeks later to the watch the Bears win the NFC Championship, you think he would hide his face? Or not talk to the media?

America is now officially funky town.

The latest Veritas video is the biggest ever. Pfizer is basically wanting to manipulate corona viruses so they can develop "vaccines" against viruses they create. Just like Wuhan, Gates, and Fauci. I liked Pfizer a lot more when they created the boner on demand pill. It still should be appreciated. But...buy the generic. Good prices on GoodRX.

This doesn't stop until a certain percentage of the "vaccinated" stands up and says "you lied to us, and now we're pissed...now leave the young people alone". And there has to be some pushback from within institutions like The University of Wisconsin who still require mRNA injections for incoming students. But I don't have much faith in that happening. Ivory Towered liberals are more interested in protecting what they have now, more than the futures of young people. Student debt and college costs showed that. Maybe that's just the majority of human nature.

But for the unvaccinated, maybe our blood will be worth $1000 a pint by 2024 or 2025. Some 25 to 30 year old guy can sell his unvaccinated sperm for like 10,000 a shot.

That kind of money could even get the Proud Boys to change their "within one yard" masturbation rule. The market for "unvaccinated" sperm will explode. No pun intended.
