Hot tea weather.
I bought some twinings green tea with jasmine - so good!

Also - thanks to your recommendation - I watched the first season of White Lotus.
Filmed at the Four Seasons Wailea.
You too can stay at one of their luxury suits for 26,000 a night.

"Gloomy Sunrise". That's got to be a euphemism for something.

The translator of Norbert Elias's "The Civilizing Process" (orig. 1939) says he has replaced "he" with "he or she" throughout.

I want to thank Ann Althouse for coining the phrase “cruel neutrality.” I used it twice - to great benefit - twice in the last 10 days in my law practice.

Wisconsin Law alums who paid attention in Ann’s classes learned plenty. Ron Volkmer at Creighton Law made all the difference in the world for me.

As predicted, National Review comes out against investigations into Jan 6 and the weaponization of the federal govt against conservatives.

National Review = The Weekly Standard just before that morphed into The Bulwark and The Dispatch.

Not surprising really when you consider where all their funding is coming from.

Maybe gloomy, but there’s that bit of sun glow in between the branches. Makes for an interesting photo.

As a classic Corvette aficionado, there is a bright side for current occupant of the White House. That is, his 1967 Corvette has gone up exponentially in value as a result the current publicity. The 1967 is the gold standard for classic Vettes. I have a 1966. Biden's is not a big block which would increase the value even more, but it is still worth big bucks.

"Pfizer was required by the U.S. and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to conduct multiple studies on its vaccine .... The FDA told Pfizer to carry out six studies, with various deadlines for completion and reporting final results to the agency. The first final deadline arrived on Dec. 31, 2022.

Pfizer was required to submit a report on the study, which was to assess the incidence of subclinical myocarditis following administration of a third dose of Pfizer’s vaccine, or a booster shot, in people aged 16 to 30.

It’s unclear whether Pfizer met the deadline. The company and the FDA did not respond to requests for comment."

The first study was to be completed June 30, 2022, results were to be published Dec 31, 2022. You don't need to know serfs. Maybe it's been labeled top secret.

Rhardin--in Richard Russo's classic "Straight Man," about the politics of an English Deparment at a small college, a particularly annoying prof. is nicknamed "Orshee" by his fellows, for his constant repetition of the phrase.
