Ms. Tisch, 41... is a lifelong New Yorker with a famous last name and three Harvard diplomas, including an M.B.A. and a law degree. Her grandfather and his brother founded the Loews Corporation and, thanks to philanthropic donations, their names grace many buildings in New York, including at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York University and the Children’s Zoo in Central Park....
With her education and background, she could presumably do just about anything she wanted to do. At 6 a.m. on a recent Tuesday, what she wanted to do was meet with sanitation workers in a garbage truck garage in the Bronx. In black suede boots and a soft gray sweater, she spoke confidently and authoritatively as she emphasized to the workers — mostly men — that Mayor Adams is deeply invested in sanitation and has prioritized cleaning up the city.
The boots were suede and the sweater was soft, the colors muted — an outfit inspired by the rat? And though this hyper-elite woman could have done anything, she crept out before dawn to encounter the trash men.

Saint Croix is a commentator who has been on the Althouse blog even before she married that guy on the Althouse blog
and he has three degrees!
not counting high school
four degrees!
(if high school is a legit degree)
Nothing like a famous made-up-name and a Samford J.D. and an art school MFA to scare the BE JESUS IS RIGHT you silly fucker and if you are worried about rats, it's time to get a dog!
(that headline is too long and it will never fly)
somebody should do investigative journalism as to how many people from Harvard work for that shit newspaper and if any of them wrote that sentence
"We love ourselves we are so smart"
elite-as-fuck
"why is our business dying?"
Sniff, sniff...Do you smell that? It smells like...wait...I know I've smelled it before.
Ah..yes. I smell a well executed plan in early stages for becoming Mayor of New York. Then possibly Senator from New York. Then...could it be?....
She's a gazillionaire born to very prominent gazillionaire New Yorkers. She's not just going about quietly doing her job. It's not like she's working in the dark corners of a small African village. She's among 'men' (of course) doing the dirty work. Well...not 'doing' the dirty work, but getting up early! Then having to go out and get near the men doing the dirty work. Eeewwww. Then having to talk at them, I mean...with them.
The Times doing the bootlicking early on so they'll have close access to her later on.
what, exactly, Are the qualifications that got her the job?
a famous last name?
3 harvard degrees? (one in bus admin)
or.. Was it her being a woman?
I'm Assuming, that she was THE WOMAN with the famous last night and 3 harvard degrees?
(No Boys Allowed)
I wonder what she knows, about pest control? Not to worry.. She can get Some Man to do THAT Part
Not only do I believe that the rats aren't scared of her, but also that they're going to outwit the lady with the impressive name and the impressive credentials from the no longer so impressive university.
I am guessing that not much is going to get done as far as the rat problem.
But we will get some really good puff pieces in the media that tickle the pickle of middle aged white women who love to hear stories about other middle aged women whipping those men into line.
Prog women are miserable people and they are destroying this country.
Girl, I knew Robert Moses. Robert Moses was a friend of mine. And you ain't no Robert Moses.
Three Harvard degrees are a guarantee of Buttigieg-level incompetence.
Also, her kids will turn out pretty terrible. See SBF's mom, who does have three Harvard degrees.
I can see Jessica sitting down at the negotiating Tisch, er ... table, and things going very badly for the city, à la John "Sanitation Workers' Strike" Lindsay.
Isn’t there an existing pest management function within the NYC government? Maybe in their facilities area? Increase their budget and have them hire a contractor for a one year period.
The Sulzberger and the Tisch families have to stay tight and keep getting access to power, all while playing the right games. They probably think they can’t afford not to.
Who's gonna pick up all the trash in the curb? As a former garbage man for three summers, I can assure you it won't be the garbage men.
If they're serious about it, they'll start citing the property owners abutting the curb. Then we'll see how popular she becomes.
Famous last name, lots of time in Cambridge, MA, but apparently no actual experience running actual necessary operations. But no worries, right. A much different take than when it was breathlessly reported that Donald Trump had not been a career politician before becoming president.
I, for one, am enjoying NY City resuming it's decline. Reminds me of all the news and television stories of my youth. The first season of 'Law and Order' the city's filthy streets were a major supporting character.
They should have hired this guy.
Teddy Roosevelt succeeded as NYC police commissioner. This sort of thing can be done, but she'll have to work at it.
She spoke "confidently and authoriatively" in a chic outfit to the garbage men. She sounds like an asshole. Was this supposed to be a pep talk or a "we're watching you, so do your job"? Either way, I doubt it was appreciated.
Lets see her "confidently and authoritativly" get her hands dirty hauling some trash cans.
I can remember a long time ago, someone like Ms. Tisch would have been sneered at as a rich "Legacy" who got into Harvard because of her privilage and connections. But I guess in 2022, we're all supposed to be agog that a woman that wealthy and supposedly "smart", is doing something.
Isn't it great that Princess Tisch is involved in sanitation. What a great woman.
If those degrees work for elitists like Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz then they should work for anyone equally ratlike.
I thought the rats had already left. Spreading disease is what rats do best and I read that when Covid began NYC chest-feeders and penis-draggers with their litters fanned out across the country to their vacation homes and were the primary vector for spreading Covid to the rest of the country.
Anyhow, I don't see how the city can get rid of the rats without poison and NYC would really stink if they poisoned all the rats and those rats died inside the walls of cellars and elevators all over town. Just recall the stench from two brother rats which reached from Albany to NYC and then imagine this Tisch chest-feeder ratting out NYC and the stench hanging like a pall above the whole Acela Corridor. You may say I'm mixing my rats with metaphors but I say there is no way to clean up any part of NYC which involves public sector unions without taking on all forms of rat, past and present. She'd have to be Zelensky-brave and say "I don't want a photo-op; I want warfarin, SWAT teams and and a grand jury. And I am not suicidal." What are the chances?
I can think of no career more suitable for a three-degree Harvard graduate than rat catcher.
In (the original) Gossip Girl, Chuck Bass says "Tisch" a lot with an expression and intonation of extreme contempt and disgust. That was in reference to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, but maybe we'll be hearing that word and that tone of voice a lot in the future.
'Mostly men.'
Women can drive garbage trucks just as easily as men, but I've never seen it.
The tough part is in some areas where you have to pick up the cans or the bags.
Toxic masculinity...
Maybe we'll still have rats. But she'll get rid of those danged MAGA rats.

************
Josh Hawley and Cruz came from a long line of great family wealth?
I did not know that.
A ratcatcher in black suede boots and a soft gray sweater. S.J. Perelman smiles down from heaven.
All she needs is a nainsook handbag and a firkin of cocoa butter.

Another brilliant post from pudding head.
Hawley Born in Springdale, Arkansas, to a banker and a teacher, Hawley graduated from Stanford University in 2002 and Yale Law School in 2006.
Cruz Rafael Edward Cruz was born on December 22, 1970,[4][5] at Foothills Medical Centre[6][7] in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Eleanor Elizabeth (née Darragh) Wilson and Rafael Cruz.[8][9][10][11] Cruz's mother was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She is of three-quarters Irish and one-quarter Italian descent, and earned an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Rice University in the 1950s.[12][13]
Cruz's father, Rafael, was born and raised in Cuba, the son of a Canary Islander who immigrated to Cuba as a child.[14] As a teenager in the 1950s, Rafael Cruz was beaten by agents of Fulgencio Batista for opposing the Batista regime.[15] He left Cuba in 1957 to attend the University of Texas at Austin and obtained political asylum in the United States after his four-year student visa expired.[16] He earned Canadian citizenship in 1973[6] and became a naturalized United States citizen in 2005.
Pudding head thinks two math grads are "elitists." I can see how that would be obvious to someone who cannot do algebra.
So she went to Harvard with Jared.
The Best & The Brightest.
The city is indeed rat infested. I hope she starts in Central Park where I see rats on every run. Just every single one.
Which law school specializes in organized crime litigation, I would pick them for rat destruction rather than a Harvard person.
The criticism of her outfit is just sexism. She's an executive and she dressed like one. If she dressed like an actual sanitation worker, she'd be accused of putting on a costume.
Criticism? It was a compliment! Fashion inspired by the soft gray fur of the rat? I love it! I'm all about soft sweaters and grayness myself.
Looking forward to her job performance.
