There was so much collusion between Twitter and the DNC! But somehow the orders weren't coming down from Jack nor from the FBI. Those children just had too much power. Well I'm glad they've been swept away.

I can almost hear these Twitterlings one day recalling the salad days at Twitter when they could bop down to the cafeteria and get a double mocha latte with two pumps of vanilla and then go back upstairs and fight against Republicans all morning. Good work if you get it and it was too bad about Musk. He wrecked my life!
God damn I'm starting to sounds like a nutter but don't we have to ask why our intelligence agencies wanted a senile old man with *that much compromising information against him* to be President? Perhaps in this case being easily blackmailed is a feature and not a big.

My impression is he cooperated with Musk initially. I recall reading somewhere (I forget where) that he actually disclosed some of this pattern conduct without trying to conceal it or go behind Musk's back, even though he didn't agree with Musk's preferred approach to these matters. Which is what you'd want, frankly. The tone of these slack messages also doesn't strike me as someone hoping to establish plausible deniability (at all), but rather someone who suspects what he's doing might be inappropriate and is turning it into a joke to avoid the feeling of embarrassment or shame.
I think Roth was not dismissed, but left voluntarily because he opposed the arbitrary process by which Musk decided on and rolled out the $8 bluecheck verification thing.

It is incredible. While I was growing up, journalists considered these agencies the enemy, or at least the opposition. How the hell did we get to where we are today?

My thought as I read was that these people are drunk with power. They’re absolutely thrilled to be in the center of all this action and to be important decision makers. They were too busy with the power to worry about the ethics, especially since they were heroically fighting the Bad People.

I read it completely differently- he never thought it would become public, and was giddy about it all. After Musk took over, he tried to stay in the loop to control issues, but quickly learned it wasn't going to work.

Breezy, Tarlov is locked in to using approved talking points. Before 5pme est. yesterday, the approved defense of the undeffensable, was twitter only was following their well known rules. That the Trump WH also make request to twitter, and twitter honored all those requests, so all is good.
But last nights release exposed evidence that twitter management was 'all atwitter' over violating their own rules, in order to do the right thing. Help the good people, and hurt the bad people.
While Tiabbi earlier posted the Trump WH asked for and got requests honored, last nite Tiabbi, repeated the story, but revealed they could find no communication from the Trump White House, and no internal slack discussion concerning anything about the Trump WH, cautioning that it might have happened, but they found no evidence.
