Kanye West didn't want to deny that he's a Nazi.

More here: "Ye praises Hitler during interview with Alex Jones/The hours-long interview on a conspiracy theory website gave Ye a platform to make antisemitic statements with little challenge from the host" (NBC News).

Why do people persist in seeking wisdom in celebrity?

Artists are, I am afraid, mostly 'effing nuts. They're "creatives", which means that their mental functions are "differently abled" than the rest of us.

I don't look at celebrities for anything other than entertainment. Those who seek wisdom at their feet are the ones you really need to look at, and start distancing yourself from.

I think that the incessant worship of celebrity in our society is a marker, and it doesn't say good things about us, at all. Why on earth do people think that Kanye West, a questionably accomplished musician/artist, who is notorious for his nutty escapades, is some authority figure to model yourself after?

The McConnell/Romney/Ryan/Luntz-tards have solidified their alliance with NeverTrump and the democraticals in just about all cultural, policy and narrative matters. You see it on this blog.

This is a necessary transition inflection point as the parties continue a slightly sped up realignment that has been in the making for 50 years. It will probably take some time to complete unless some black swan event occurs that accelerates it.

Progressives, or rather let's call them for what they are, totalitarians, are really fond of using the word platform as a verb. As if having a discussion of ideas is dangerous.

People are really upset that Alex Jones didn't argue back at every outrageous statement Ye makes. And if he did....well then they'd go back to arguing that Jones "platformed" Ye in the first place.

It would seem that Ye, like Trump, whether intentionally, or just by happenstance, are trojan horses into the conservative movement.

This is what happen when you knowingly embracing people who have rejected a moral life. I'm not saying every leader needs to be perfect, morally, or otherwise. But civic virtues, and moral virtues were part of what made the founding fathers great, even as they, like all of humankind had various moral failings.

Ye and Trump are a class a part from that. And the conservatives who harken to them and flock to defend them are the reason why the Democrat party will continue to plague this nation with totalitarianism.

Clearly a couple of Trump’s “very fine people.”

And that’s how it works, folks. When you have no values, everything’s transactional. As long as someone kisses Trump’s huge ass, he will support that person in any way he can.

No morals, no boundaries, no propriety - and in the rapper’s case, not much of a sane mind.

But it’s all ok in Trumpland. No bridge is too far to cross. Doing battle with the Democratic Party and president means loving Hitler and the Nazis is even on the table as far as ideas worth entertaining are concerned.

Kanye's comments are similar to Russia Collusion Truther Inga's when Inga agreed with Pelosi that the MS-13 machete murderers of a couple of high school girls in New York had a "spark of Divinity".

Kind of interesting historical note given Inga's "contributions" to this thread.

I wonder if Inga would like to take this moment to reconsider her support for declaring MS-13 machete murderers of high school girls have a "spark of Divinity"?

Holocaust deniers are hilarious people. What do they think Hitler and his goons lacked for? The motivation? (Read Mein Kampf or listen to his speeches). The means? (The most industrially advanced country at the time). The opportunity? (Because atrocities never happen in war, especially one as expansive and massive as WWII during the Nazi conquest of almost all of Europe).

Definitely reasoning on par with a belief in the flat earth. Or trickle-down economics.

Well that really narrows it down. Who needs friends when you can make enemies of your senate leader, you party’s chief pollster, a former presidential and VP candidate, former speaker of the house, the other party and the segment of your own party who can actually see straight on a lunatic leader?

I guess you’ll need some really long knives to take all of them out. And a heck of a night in which to wield them. Loyalty Uber Alles!

Ye's just being a Christian. Every man has some good in him. Every man has a soul and can go to heaven and be saved.

BTW, here a funny thing, Mao murdered more people then Hitler, yet Nixon praised him as a great man. People used to run around with Mao's Red book. And Stalin killed more people than Hilter, and nobody is upset if you say he has some good qualities. In fact plenty of highly placed marxists in Academia still praise him.

But Hiter is somehow different. When I hear people screaming about someone praising Mao and Stalin, then I"ll know they are in good faith attacking Ye.

mikee said...

The Holocaust killed about 6 million Jews. Add to that about 11 million more Roman Catholics, Gypsies (Roma), homosexuals, mentally challenged, and just plain civilians in Poland, Russia, et al., and the total is about 17 million civilians deliberatley killed by Nazis, other than those in the opposing militaries.

Stalin killed more, and Mao more still, and the Khmer Rouge yet a higher percentage of their own population than the rest, but Hitler was no slacker at genocide.

When an antisemite wants to claim that a 14-year old Holocaust survivor was complicit in murdering millions simply because the man his family trusted to save him took him along one day to inventory stolen Jewish property, this is no different as when Palestinians like Mahmoud Abbas says that Zionist leaders were Nazi “collaborators” by agreeing to allow refuge for the victims who were allowed to flee to safety in mandatory Palestine.

To say Jews were somehow doing anything as bad or even worse can only be interpreted as an attempt to minimize Nazi crimes.

The "new" lefty rules were established last week when the woke left went after a young (14 yrs old in fact) Jerry Jones for simply being in the background of a picture taken in 1957 in Arkansas when integration was being implemented that showed older boys confronting black students trying to enter the building.

You lefties are going to have to make up your minds: either 14 year olds are "participants" for simply being in the area or they are not.

Which shall it be?

Spoiler: It depends on the current party affiliation of the former 14 year old.

Recognizing where each of those individuals fall on the policy spectrum doesn't require making enemies of anyone. Each of those mentioned is indeed part of the republican party leadership that is at war with the majority of its base voters, and has been for some time. That's what all the talk has been about lately.

And it "ain't" all that new of a conversation which means it long predates Trump. It's the same populist/working class vs GOPe battle that should have led Reagan to choose Jack Kemp instead of HW Bush as his running mate.

This didn't start with Trump. He simply fought harder for those policies than anyone else and helped accelerate it. It will continue after he is gone.

If "Hitler and his goons" wanted to kill Jews, why did they put them on railroad trains to slave camps?

To get some free labor out of the few who survived selection.

I’d ask what you think Josef Mengele was doing at the time and why did he flee through the rat lines but if you honestly believe the few survivors, statistically speaking, are proof that none were murdered let alone the vast majority then clearly you’re too naive and obstinate to bother with and better off being a useful idiot for some equally useless cause.

The German government has repaid the slave wages of survivors. Working well beyond the point of exhaustion on pain of death was how Nazis implemented their belief that only the strongest should survive (or do you deny the T4 program also?) while being efficiently exploited. The looted properties were another example of this, and extended beyond personal property to include the most priceless works of art known at the time.

One thing’s for certain, if you were brought up in Germany there’s no way you’d be able to pass a secondary education curriculum this ignorant. It’s disgraceful that you would seek whitewash the atrocities of a country that has done as brave a job confronting the horrors of its past. Kind of like offering a sober recovered alcoholic a keg. Just wretched.

It’s interesting that the Nazis were inspired by the racial codes of the American South, while modern Germany has chosen to grow up and not pretend away its past as the American South as continued to do up until very recently.

Adolescent Soros did nothing involving any blood so the only one finding him “bloodstained” would be those launching a blood libel against him by idiotically asserting that blowing his cover as the Christian godson of the Hungarian Agriculture minister, and staying alone without that man’s protection while he was out inventorying confiscated properties, would have made his survival more defensible to them.

That proves only one thing - they either have no clue how dangerous life was for those hiding from Nazi totalitarianism or that they preferred to see at least some Jewish 14-year olds killed, a risk Soros would have been taking by not staying as close to the man providing him cover as he could.

In any event, and getting back to the topic - and in gentlemanly deference to our host and the seriousness of the actual topic of her post, Charlamagne tha God actually saw this coming over a month ago.

I think anyone attempting to distract from the topic of the post with Trump loyalty screeds or a need to minimize Hitler in relation to Stalin/Mao basically illustrate just how easily Trump let guys like this into his inner circle. Everything is seen as a conspiracy against him, even the very own words of his friends at Mar-a-Lago’s Dine Kampf.

Well, you can’t say you love free speech and then pretend away what the guy who wanted Trump to be his own VP just said. Or the reaction at what this means about how deranged and devoid of any use this reveals the GOP to be.

The republican party is taking control of the House in about 6 weeks. Something you said would never happen again.

Do you understand what that means? Of course you don't.

Here, I'll write very slowly for you: That means that a republican party undergoing some sort of a transformation and internal conflict along with near complete democratical control of all media and communications along with a completely corrupted federal govt in the back pocket of the dems, has lost the majority in the House and will hold only the slightest edge in the Senate (which the republican's would have won if the GOPe hadn't been at war with its own base voters).

The bottom line is that there is a lot of antisemitism on the left these days and a lot of Holocaust denial and antisemitism among the followers of Louis Farrakhan. Meanwhile, Trump has a Jewish son-in-law and Jewish grandchildren. His administration negotiated the Abraham Accords which reduced tensions in the Mid-East and moved many Islamic regimes toward a better relation with Israel. Facts will not affect the left at this moment as it yammers about Trump's supposed antisemitism while ignoring the reality of antisemitism and indifference to antisemitism throughout its own ranks. For example, Bill Clinton sat in a row with Farrakhan at Aretha Franklin's funeral. https://www.washingtonpost.com/rf/image_960w/2010-2019/WashingtonPost/2018/08/31/Style/Images/Aretha_Franklin_59634-93863.jpg
This is just another example of how the left operates in a propaganda campaign. I promise you that our resident lefties will be denouncing Israel along with all the antisemites in Europe within six months without the slightest concern for intellectual honesty or consistency. Why, at this very moment lefties are upholding the Ukraine's right to its borders (good) while denying the US the same right (WTF). And lefties are saying Europe shouldn't depend on Russia for gas and oil while they work the make the US dependent on Venezuela.

Hitler thought his program was right, just a little mistaken in economics and anthropology.

In economics, he thought that trade weakens the stronger nation because it makes the nations you trade with into strong competitors no longer needing your stuff - so you run out of food you no longer can trade for.

In anthropology that nations with mixed races were historically weak.

So he went east to solidify food supplies and oil so he needn't trade for them. Unfortunately those west of him objected.

He also didn't like Jews because you'd win an argument with them and the next day when you go back they don't admit it and argue the same things over again. Sort of like the internet.
