When did a positive COVID test become a status symbol??

I was with my 90-year-old father-in-law, and he mentioned that he wanted to get a COVID test.

"Why would you get a COVID test??.....are you traveling?"

"No, but it would be nice to know??"

#5 - The Explorers Club - I Wonder What She's Doing Tonite (To Sing And Be Born Again, 2020)

The Explorers Club was one of my favorite discoveries of the year. Their debut album 'Freedom Wind' (2008) was a perfect homage to the Beach Boys, with songs that sounded like they could have been written by Brian Wilson. In 2020, they put out an album of sunshine pop cover songs from the mid-to-late '60s era, titled 'To Sing And Be Born Again,' and I loved every single song on the album. I played the heck out of this album, and heartily recommend giving it a listen if you can find it on your streaming platform. "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonite" was originally performed by Tommy Boyce & Bobby Hart in 1968.

The Explorers Club - I Wonder What She's Doing Tonite

Bonus song #1: The Explorers Club - Forever (Freedom Wind, 2008)

A perfect Beach Boys homage.

The Explorers Club - Forever

Bonus song #2: The Explorers Club - Ruby (The Explorers Club, 2020)

The Explorers Club also issued a self-titled album of original songs in 2020, of the same sort of sunshine pop songs that they covered on 'To Sing And Be Born Again.' Great stuff!

The dread Wu Flu finally caught up with me. (although I swear I had something very similar in February 2020) Went to bed last night feeling bad, woke up feeling worse. Tested and got the two red lines.

I spent Christmas at home with my wife and two adult sons. All have no symptoms and negative tests.

Bad muscle aches, headaches, heartburn. My doc prescribed some Paxlovid which I just started about 1/2 hour ago. I will keep you posted.

A good week to be down and out--not much going on at work.

From the NYT’s evening briefing:

“ 3. China’s medical system is being pushed to the limits as Covid spreads.

The Times examined several videos that showed scenes of desperation and misery at one hospital in northern China. Sickened patients slump in wheelchairs and lie on gurneys, waiting for help as the corridors ring with the sounds of coughing.

There are reports that physicians are being pulled from eastern provinces to help in Beijing as the capital grapples with an explosive outbreak. In Shanghai, one hospital predicted half of the city’s 25 million residents would eventually be infected and warned its staff of a “tragic battle” in the coming weeks.

Data released by local authorities in recent days seem to confirm that the virus is running rampant, with reports of hundreds of thousands of infections recorded daily. Some experts believe the outbreak could cause over a million deaths in the next few months.

In the U.S., for many people who are still wearing masks and trying to avoid infection with the coronavirus, this has become the loneliest moment since the pandemic began.”

Mask wearing in Asian countries is near as darn it to universal. It beggars the imagination to conceive of a better natural experiment to test the effectiveness of face diapers.

Epic fail.

Ingas of tne world, take note.

Biden's America: Buffalo Looters Sack Family Dollar

"Looting and rioting are both signs of societal breakdown. Recent election cycles have seen the hard-left wing of the Democratic Party encourage (and the rest of party at least tolerate) such behavior, seemingly on the working assumption that doing so helped keep black voters pulling the “D” lever, no matter how destructive it might be for economic opportunity and community cohesion in the long term.

Putting aside morality, it’s easy to see the “nature red in tooth and claw” cost-benefit analysis of looting when no one is getting prosecuted. If everyone is looting and you’re pretty sure you’re not going to be popped for carrying away the big screen TV, hey, free TV!

But how far have the bonds of citizenship eroded when people feel free to loot a Family Dollar in broad daylight?

One of my favorite people to read online is Rod Dreher. He has a stream of consciousness, heart on sleeve style that I find fascinating. I agree with him in some respects, but so often his blog posts go off the rails, and I can't turn away.

Anyway, his blog post today on finding out his father belonged to the Klan is a jaw-dropper. He meanders his way thru family drama, racism in the South, therapy for 9/11, and the evils of Freemasonry. It's a tour de force of psychological hangups and defense mechanisms as he struggles with his family heritage. Some commenters might enjoy it.

China's COVID-19 surge raises odds of new coronavirus mutant

“China has a population that is very large and there’s limited immunity. And that seems to be the setting in which we may see an explosion of a new variant," said Dr. Stuart Campbell Ray, an infectious disease expert at Johns Hopkins University.

Every new infection offers a chance for the coronavirus to mutate, and the virus is spreading rapidly in China. The country of 1.4 billion has largely abandoned its “zero COVID” policy. Though overall reported vaccination rates are high, booster levels are lower, especially among older people. Domestic vaccines have proven less effective against serious infection than Western-made messenger RNA versions. Many were given more than a year ago, meaning immunity has waned.

The result? Fertile ground for the virus to change.”

I also developed cold symptoms and tested positive for Covid last week. First time I ever tested positive. Moderate symptoms for 3-4 days, then much better. Now I've got natural (and un-natural) immunity.

Got a prescription to take Paxlovid, but found it was contra-indicated due to a few common meds I take every day, so I bagged it and just took some Vit C and a Z-pack.

Y'all should check and make sure it's safe to take Paxlovid before starting a course of it.

Mine would be allowing college athletes to make income (NIL) in addition to their scholarship. I used to believe that the "full ride" scholarship was enough. But now the head coaches and their staff make so much money I think the athletes should be allowed something.

Cheers.

Rattlesnakes are a little different story.

Well, the vax doesn't work articles are starting to break through into public consciousness. Slowly but surely the knowledge, and it's knowledge, not supposition, that mRNA shots are backfiring (as predicted) is spreading wider. And, one of many posts spreading the same explanation of what's happening was on Alex Berenson's substack today. He includea a tweet from noted pro-vax Dr Eric Topol saying the clinical significance of the shift towards IG4 antibodies isn't known. Ah, but it is. And explained in ALL the writeups about it. And the studies coming out showing the vaccine screws with your immune system are coming out from large healthcare employers who forced their employees to take the shots, like the Cleveland Clinic.

I'm sure I could find a comment of mine over two years old that says something similar to the following, but maybe not the exact words. Since I've written it many times.

There are two things we knew before this miracle mRNA vaccine. 1. There has never been a successful coronavirus vaccine developed for humans or animals, and many of the animal attempts have resulted in spectacular backfire, making the problem worse. 2. There has never been a successful test of mRNA injections for anything in over a decade of trying to find a use for it. So we take two things that have never worked, combine them, and now it's a miracle cure? Nope, don't believe it.

My skepticism was warranted.

Now we have multiple statistical studies showing the vaccine does not work and is in fact making those who received it more likely to catch covid. As predicted by the skeptics. It is impossible to hide the numbers, and when an organization like the Cleveland CLinic published the numbers- it's an admission they don't work.

Now for the clot and myocarditis problems and the fact the death rate in highly vaccinated countries is STILL higher then normal even though the dreaded covid already pulled most of those who were going to die in the next two years forward. That by itself should put the death rate below expectations. We know these problems also exist. At least, anyone paying attention knows they exist. There's still denial from the medical establishment. No one likes to admit they screwed up. They did. Big time. And what's worse, if you've been paying attention, an awful lot of doctors along with those of us who simply understand numbers but aren't doctors- predicted it.

Numbers don't lie. It's coming out (but we already knew) that Pfizer and Moderna both hid the true numbers from their vaccine trials. People lie, numbers don't. If you lie about the numbers- they can say whatever you want. But the real numbers never lie.

Doesn't lie... I've had this same discussion lately about DNA. It may not tell you what you want to know, but it doesn't lie. There was a discussion here where they let a killer go free because his DNA wasn't on the dead body. Lack of DNA doesn't prove in any way, shape, or form that he wasn't there. It proves DNA wasn't found. My discussions have been on genealogy forums. If your DNA links you to a lot of known relatives of your mother, but not to any of your purported father- it's telling you something.

Paxlovid works because it is a protease inhbitor. When my wife followed me 2 days later with the dreaded covid her sister, a nurse, told her to get her doctor to describe it. So my wife googled paxlovid and discovered the internet said what I had already- it's got lots of possible nasty side effects up ti and including death. And, not in the official brochures, but widely reported, rebound effect. It suppresses symptoms, but when you stop taking it- the symptoms come back, worse.

Ivermectin is a protease inhibitor. And it's widespread use around the world has shown it's safe. Widespread long before covid entered the everyday lexicon. Of course I live in the Empire of New York ruled by Dictator Hochul. Doctors cannot prescribe ivermectin here, unlike my son's medical practice in the free state of FLorida who prescribed it for him, as they do all their covid positive patients. I had a stock on hand ordered from an overseas pharmacy just in case, and just in case happened. At 67 and 65 we survived quit well, and both of us have had flus with worse symptoms. One day for each of us of feeling like we got run over by a truck. That was the worst of it. covid19criticalcare.com for treatment protocaols.

Oh, your natural immunity? Sorry, it's not very robust, if you have any at all. You had the vaccine first. And the more doses you've had, the less natural immunity was developed. The vaccine teaches your body to respond to only the spike protein and ignore the rest of the virus.

Early on,2020, before a clear narrative had been decided on, and viral experts just relayed their experience, they said the virus (respiratory virus, that we have never found a cure or vaccine) would mutate. The virus would become more viral, and less lethal. Numbers seem to be confirming that hypothesis. The idiocy of covid zero has been exposed, as has the lie about masks, distancing and surface disinfecting.
It is clear it was a huge mistake to quarantine the entire population, instead of just the vulnerable. A population very easy to define.

Yesterday I clicked on a link in a PJ Media article to twitter and got a pop up that the tweet was potentially offensive and I needed to confirm my age before viewing. I was then presented with an obnoxious date wheel that would have taken more time to set than I was willing to give it (it’s one of those widgets that inexplicably starts at today and punishes older people by making long ago years hard to access), so I gave the year a spin to make me over 18 and hit enter. I am now locked out of twitter for being under 13 when I opened my account (I was 13 in 1979).

No confirmation step, no warning of the consequences of putting in a date that doesn’t match their records, no allowance for simple fat-finger mistakes, just “you’re account is blocked because you were under 13 when you opened your account.” The notice included a link to request reinstatement, but the link doesn’t work.

So I guess that’s it for me and twitter.

It was always short-sighted. First-generation immigrants might vote Democrat when they vote at all (this step is why ballot harvesting is so important—by doing away with the secret ballot, Dems won’t need them to vote, they just need them to register), but their grandchildren will vote like any other American, so the Dems would need an ever increasing number of invaders to keep ahead of the relentless math of their failures.

Ivermectin was safe and effective.

Remember that one of the biggest stories big tech was censoring was health information surrounding treatments like Ivermectin.

Our government forced companies to censor this information and the jackboots that worked for big tech were happy to censor this information.

They were purposely killing people. Not just by limiting successful cheap available treatment but by shipping COVID patients to nursing homes and forcing them to take dangerous untested vaccines that are now killing thousands of people.

The reckoning comes soon. This regime and it's supporters are just evil disgusting amoral shitheads that are right there with the Nazi's and the Soviets and the Maoists.

And the branch covidians on this board that attacked me for posting this years ago need to go look in the mirror. We all knew Ivermectin worked. But you trusted this regime and the institutions in our government and the giant corporations.

Stop being tools. Everything the Biden Regime and the Globalist movement it is a part of is trying to reduce the human population across the planet right now.

The Wuhan lab was doing gain of function researach. Funded by the US government- Illegally funded, by the way. The CHinese government knew every bit of research going on in the lab. How could they not?

Gain of function research is never benign and had one purpose and one purpose only- to make viruses more deadly, or add new symptoms, or something else. That's what "Gain of Function" means. That's why the Chinese government had such an over the top reaction to the release of viruses from the lab. They knew what they werelooking at.

And from the stories I recall about people dropping dead in the streets of China, and in Italy where there are Chinese guest workers, and in Iran... I remain convinced there was more then one agent released. But the others were so deadly they killed more rapidly then they could spread. That's why some of the more deadly viruses we know of never escape from their home in Africa. The virus transmits from animal hosts, where it's not deadly, to human hosts in a small village, and very soon, everyone in the village is dead. No one hears from anyone in that remote village for a while, someone goes to visit, and discovers the bodies. Not a frequent occurrence, but it happens.

I have fox in my yard in ruralville of Central NY. Across the street they have coyote. Seems several species have started using human paved streets as dividing lines for their territories. They fill the same ecological niche so you generally will not find them sharing territory. We also have wolves and bobcats. All you antivaxxer seem to have had or are now getting Covid. I’ve had two Covid shots, plus two boosters. I’ve never had Covid in any of its variants. I’m not saying that I will never get it, but so far, despite socializing with no masking for quite a long time now, I have not gotten Covid. If I get Covid (because my body now knows how to respond to a spike virus) I will most likely have a milder case than an antivaxxer. Remember your immunity, even if it’s natural from having had Covid doesn’t last any longer than someone who has been immunized. If you have been immunized and have had Covid, you have the best immunity of all and even that isn’t forever because Covid is mutating that fast. This virus knows how to survive.

Now all you experts can make of it what you want and I know you will.

And what does that prove? Oh, I know- absolutelely nothing.

All my family members who contracted covid- except my liberal son-in-law, contracted covid without being vaxxed. Except for my wife and I - they all contracted it before the vaccine that doesn't work was developed.

9 coworkers in my work group. All 9 contracted covid after vaccination. After- pretty good evidence the vaccine doesn't work

I can contact trace who I got it from. A much younger, by more then 30 years, fellow Scout leader who used to be one of my Scsouts, double vaxxed, with his second case of covid. And because he was vaxxed he was shedding virus while asymptomatic. Meetings are Tuesday night. His symptoms showed up Wednesday morning. Mine showed up Thurday night at work. My wife started symptoms Friday afternoon. His symptoms lasted two days longer then ours. And his symptoms were worse. Of course, my wife and I started ivermectin Thursday night when I got home. We live in the Emprire of NY under Dictator Hochul where doctors are forbidden from prescribing it. I'm seriously surprised that NY hasn't yet made ivermectin possession a crime... His doctor prescribed him- nothing.

Oh, my liberal son-in-law also contracted Bell's Palsy after shot #2. "Happens all the time!" he yelled when he heard me tell my daughter that's a side effect of the vaccine that doesn't work. At age 67- and he's 37, the first person I've ever known diagnosed with, and curiously, right after his second shot. But the shot had nothing to do with it. Denial is a powerful thing.

Yes, we all had Covid. No, we are not now getting Covid and we probably won't. We have better immunity than you. You have no choice now but to keep taking shots, because your immune system has been compromised.

My parents had all the shots and both had Covid last Sept. They are in their 80s and I had to give them some care, Dad ended up in the hospital for a week. Despite very close contact with two covid positive patients, I did not get covid. I tested for a week to be sure, because I couldn't visit my Dad in the hospital if I was positive.
