Gusty Winds said...: Advice for Thanksgiving Turkey: Use one of those oven bags for your turkey. If you've never used one before, it's guaranteed. Poke a few holes in the top of the bag to vent, add a little flour, put the Turkey in, and tie up the end. Salt the cavity of course, and whatever you put on the outside. I like butter under the skin. Tastes like Wisconsin.

Cuts like and hour plus of time off a huge turkey, keeps it really moist, and the drippings are contained in the bag for gravy. Because it cuts time, be sure to use a meat thermometer and watch the temp of the bird. If you don't have one, get one with a long enough cord for the readout to be outside the oven. Amazon has a lot of choices on these.

Turkey is done at 165 degrees, but pull it at 160. It'll increase the last 5 degrees outside the oven and you don't want the meat to pull back from the skin. That means it's over cooking.

Internal Temp is always more important than time. If you buy a Butterball or some brand that has the temperature pop out you'll have a hard time believing the bird is done if you're calculating half hour a pound. But it's done. Those cheap oven bags are great holiday tools.; 11/20/22, 6:55 PM

Sydney said...: Not liking this newest season of The Crown. I can’t get past the fact that the actress playing the Queen was also a Harry Potter villain. Every time she’s on the screen I think of her Harry Potter character. Not her fault, just that her character in Potter was very similar to her character as the Queen. Also, too much Diana drama in this season. Wouldn’t mind so much if the drama involved more of the Queen’s reaction and handling of all the drama instead of focusing on Diana herself.; 11/20/22, 8:31 PM
Gospace said...: Gocomics.com has been down for more then 48 hours now. No new about why anywhere. Just gone. Comic blogs and the Facebook page for the site are all reporting it’s gone but no one is speculating why. This is a serious problem. The world needs humor. I’ve now had two days without the daily comics of my choosing showing up in my inbox. The only internet service I actually pay for.

One of the reasons I love Ann's blog is because it's fun to search obscure topics. I did an image search of Billy Redden just to see how he aged over the years, and guess what? I know that it is an effective propaganda technique to accuse the other side of whatever unsavory thing that you are doing, so that's why Democrats use the smear, but isn't the real denial pretending that Republican voters were not suppressed in PA and AZ on Election Day, when it's public record that they were?

Apparently the AG in AZ is going to withhold certification of the election until some questions are answered. Of course I don't doubt that the problems will all be swept under the rug, as they were in PA. The Democrats have scores of millions of dollars, stolen for and given to them by that little thief over in the Bahamas, who is free as a bird right now, BTW, to spend propagandizing people, did I mention that the same guy who gave all of those millions to Democrats also slathered money around, like gravy at Cracker Barrel, on liberal press outlets?; 11/21/22, 5:16 AM
