Here in Pugetopolis, it was sunny and smoky at the same time. It was really warm and dry when I walked into Costco at 9:50 a.m. No need for a sweatshirt. High temperature today was 86! On October 16! Normally, it would have been 55 and rainy.
"Arizona secretary of state and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Katie Hobbs on Sunday failed to name a single restriction on abortion she would support if she were elected governor of the state. / Hobbs replied: “The decision about abortion should be between a patient and their doctor.”"
Seems like that is the consistent Dem line. Roe didn't go far enough.
Here in Arizonaland, we are cooler than Mike of Snoqualmie, and probably wetter. It has been a rainy, cool weekend, which is a real treat for desert dwellers. Perfect biking weather is forecast for tomorrow. And the next 6 months.

I will debate you on MSNBC. I’ll even, I’ll even debate you on ‘The View,’ and let Joy Behar and Whoppi ask the questions. But show some courage!” AZ Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Kari Lake.
Enterprising reporters searching for the AZ dem candidate Katie Hobbs said the trail went cold at President Biden's Delaware basement door.

I’ll even debate you on ‘The View.’ Won’t you please debate me too?
M of S Here in the peoples republic of N. Illinois it was 35 when I got up to let the dog out. I rained and must have sleeted for awhile because the deck was covered with it. Full colors haven happened yet. This might be one of those autumns where the leaves just come down all at once. I did find an old burr oak in the woods that's big enough that it just might predate European settlement. It is massive.
The media dismissed Hunter Biden — while turning my life upside down
"Because in the fall of 2018, my entire life was turned upside down by the media. CNN and MSNBC were some of the worst offenders. I was not related to any politician, and I had never been arrested. Yet I was a focal point of hour upon hour upon hour of coverage and speculation when the media, politicians, and opposition researchers, fueled by an absurdly vague accusation of sexual assault against my high school friend Brett Kavanaugh, decided to destroy my life and Brett’s to prevent him from getting on the Supreme Court ."

It's cool and brisk here this morning, and the trees still haven't turned much. It may have been too dry for a good display. We did get some brief intense showers from the cool fronts of the last several days, but not enough for the farmers or the river, probably.
I'm going to drive downtown today to see the low water.
Metrological Fall is forecast to finally arrive on Friday with an 1" of rain and a 53F high. Rain forecast through Halloween, that's as far as the forecast go.
My excavator is hesitant to fell any trees until the rain starts. It's been really dry and he's afraid sparks from the chainsaw could start a fire in the dry ground. He should be able to start this Friday after the rain starts.

Makes me think of the closing moments of "A Serious Man."

Oh well!
“A Serious Man” is a great movie.
Looks like Joe Biden’s big “Dark MAGA” speech has backfired. Mean tweets or nuclear ☢️ war…. Tough decision!
Last week Vermont had on her party dress, this week it is coming off.
Note the conspicuous absence, the guy who started zero wars.

Watch the video and weep for America under Democrats.

Yep, the water is low.
As low as I've seen in my 69 years. This is going to be a YUGE problem pretty soon.
