Oh damn. None in Missoula yet. We have maybe another week of splendid color then it all goes to hell.

Frost really dulls scythe blades, which depend on a razor-sharp edge. You'd have to hone after every stoke.

Cooler here in Tucson, too. The temp was only 63 this morning when I walked the dog.

Meanwhile in South Texas, it's cooled off enough that it's no longer to hot to sit on the patio in the evening and smoke a cigar. It's not actually cool yet, but it's more bearable.

First frost here in Oak Ridge, TN is usually in November, and more to the middle of the month, but can occur in mid October.

Meanwhile, down here in Arizona (first circle of Hell) we're coming to the nicest part of the year. Yay, summer's over!

And so begins Indian Summer, that is as long as we are still allowed to say that.

Frostmas! At sunset last night, spent time harvesting Sweet Nathalie, Bluetiful, White Fawn and Jabberbox Dahlias. Awoke this morning to 31 degrees and frost on the remaining buds and flowers. North suburbs of Chicago.

October surprise?

Agents determined months ago they had assembled a viable criminal case against the younger Biden.

Months ago? Why sit on this news and then leak it in October?

Autumnal right on cue--no frosts for weeks probably. Firing up the grill for the first time since a brief cool spell in early September.

My brother came over with his ladders, loppers, and chainsaw and we brought down a lot of overgrown Holly (I hate that stuff!) and some gnarly Magnolia branches rubbing against the carport. Another large mound of cuttings the size of a small truck out front, with more to be moved tomorrow.

The visitor did inspire my wife to vacuum, even under the long-skirted sofa, where we found enough dog fur to make a litter (along with a lot of dust and debris).

OMG. Is that DIXIELAND on one frosty morning. Look away as I take my stand in the former land of cotton. Now called the land of Delta, Coca Cola and Chik fil A.

The info on Hunter Biden was not released by the FBI leadership . it was whistle blown by soon to be fired FBI agents.

Still warm in Pugetopolis. High of about 75F, lows around 50F. Fog in the river valleys and still lingering smoke from the Bolt Creek fire.

Just past peak color up here in Live Free or Die country. Apple picking, fort building archery and a roaring fire. Homemade pizza and Skyfall. We unpacked the boys great grandpa's Bear longbow. 62", 45#. The local archery shop only had recurve strings. Made do temporary with some Paracord. The boys want to hunt the wild turkeys but their Dad told them they needed to shoot way better before killing humanely.

Made a wooden javalin with the younger boy out of a pine branch using a hatchet. He's wanting his Dad to build a forge so he can make a proper spear tip. We'll see means don't hold your breath, kid.

My son's taking the older boy back packing tomorrow. They'll use an old Optimus alcohol stove kit from the boy's great great grandfather.

And so it goes. Being a lean mean half crazy dipshit granddad is the best. The only rule is the boys can't get hurt bad because gramps will get in trouble and we can't have that.

The info on Hunter Biden was not released by the FBI leadership. It was whistle-blown by soon-to-be-fired FBI agents.

Noting for the record, FBI agents are trying to force David Weiss to indict Hunter Biden leaked to WaPo reporter Devlin Barrett just like FBI Agents leaked details of the Clinton Foundation to Devlin Barrett about a month or so before the 2016 election. Barrett twisted the story to imply that the FBI was not doing their jobs.

That story was false, so what can we believe about the "serious" Hunter Biden crimes that need to be charged for failing to pay his taxes on time, and for answering a multiple-choice question wrong on a gun purchase permit?

Recall that back in January 2009, new Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner – the man entrusted with overseeing the Internal Revenue Service and some $350 billion in bailout funds - blamed TurboTax for causing him to fail to pay all of his taxes. He wasn't charged, and so far, neither has Donald Trump been charged for his cheating.

According to the wooly caterpillars I've encountered on my daily walks we're in for a mild winter. Or maybe that's just wooly caterpillars fucking with us.

Gadfy. Take your pills.

Time to revisit the project of finding a place (or maybe places) to live that lets you safely enjoy the outdoors, and avoid seasonal affective disorder,12 months a year.

Solutions to this issue aren't really that easy for people who aren't wealthy. But YMMV.

How does that work? I see woolly caterpillars every fall and have never been able to figure it out.
