Two paragraphs of the dismissal letter to Peter Strzok from the Deputy Director of the FBI David Bowdich August 8 2018:

"Your sustained pattern of bad judgement in the use of an FBI device has called into question for many the decisions made during both the Clinton e-mail investigation and the initial states of the Russia Collusion investigation. In short, your repeated selfishness has called into question the credibility of the entire FBI ....

.... In my 23 years in the FBI, I have not seen a more impactful series of missteps which called into question the entire organization and more thoroughly damaged the reputation of the organization."

CNN and MSNBC later hired this guy as an expert analyst.

After establishing the predicate that poor communities and “communities of color” had suffered most from hurricane Ian, why couldn’t VP Harris just say such communities would be the focus of aid efforts instead of injecting “equity” into things? Seems like such an own goal.

Will someone please explain to me why a picture of sunrise (or moonrise) appears so much smaller in a picture than it does in real life?

In the minds of lefties, history began last night. Looking back a bit further, Obama began his hysteric (sic) presidency in Jan 2009. A mere 2 months later, Hildabeast presents Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov with the resent button. After 8 years of resetting relations with Putin's Russia, Hillary accuses Russia of stealing the election from her. Some reset.

Now Obama's understudy, President Soiled Diaper, is running the show. Reset? The junkyard dog in charge of Russia is now threatening nukes. Is there anything the left can screw up? Ah, no.

You can't change the zoom level of your eyes (would be cool if you could).

"In real life" the diameter of the Sun is about 864,938 miles.

Of course you would be burned to a crisp and then vaporized if you tried to get close enough to measure it.

I do miss the earlier days of science fiction when writers were expecting to colonize Mercury, Venus, Jupiter ... maybe even the Sun itself.

It struck me the other day -- there are uncounted suns and moons in the universe. Why do we call ours the Sun and the Moon. Is that White privilege or something?

The moon looks small because the camera judges it to be far away and, perhaps, the sun over water also seems far away to a camera. I've tried many times to get a picture of the large moon which I have often seen over Lake Michigan. The Hunters' Moon. The eclipsing moon. No luck. They say the pictures you see in magazines are two shots 1. moon, 2. sky, superimposed. I've also been told that you need a ledge in the picture because this makes the camera think the moon is closer so the camera makes the moon larger. I tried many times at Atwater Beach on Lake Michigan where there is a ledge. But never could make it work because the camera either didn't see the ledge or, if I lit the ledge, the camera took a picture of the ledge. Just once I got large moon, an August full moon rising at sunset with lines of clouds nearby.

Oh, my. We’ve entered the age of pre-checking? lol

Because pictures are small...5" x 7" or 8" x 10"

And the world is really, really big.

I wish you all joy of the sunrise.

As Democrats are crying about the inhumanity of the Republican Governors sending Sanctuary cities illegals that THEY want, the left is secretly using YOUR money to ship them all over the country, and blaming it all on the Republican Governors.... VOTE WISER!!! Good thing we have foreign media to report it, since OUR propagandists refuse to.

How long after the election before Kamala Harris invokes 25th Amendment? She may want to pick her VP while Dems still control the Senate.

The pond was 61F last night the air 49F in a stiff breeze. We removed our buoys from in front the meadow for the season. My swimming partners are dropping like flies and I don't like swimming alone. To the meadow and back is a mile. Hopefully a couple folks will join me for a Hunter's Moon swim this weekend.

DCR stocked the pond last week but the fish are still not biting in any consistent manner. The water needs to get into the mid 50's before they get into their fall feeding frenzy.

Before the swim, I cranked up the water heater thermostat and had a nice hot soak after. Going from near hypothermia to al dente is highly recommend for immune health by Joe Rogan podcast. As it working out like a maniac and eating very high quality while foods. That plus hanging out with Like minded and bodied people is the key to optimization of physical mental and spiritual health. Finding your Coed Tribe that enables wholesome and healthy behavior is about as close to recreating a Hunter Gatherer vibe.

You should try it. Gaia helps those whom help themselves, their brothers and sisters.

Biden and the Puerto Ricans: is that a little like the old time White Southern politicians Biden used to hang out with telling us how they understood African-Americans because they grew up with them? Biden, of course, didn't grow up among Puerto Ricans in the 1940s/1950s, but there's a sense of ownership there, as though certain groups belong to him and his party.

Biden wears out and makes a joke of a certain style of politics. I'm not sure what to call it. The politics of empathy? The politics of identification? I originally typed "identifiction." Maybe that's what it is. I get the feeling that something is over. But is there anything to replace it? You can't have someone totally focused on "facts and figures." People don't want Herbert Hoover or Tom Dewey or Mitt Romney or Mark Zuckerberg. People want some kind of empath or someone who can successfully imitate a human being. But Biden makes the whole act tawdry and ridiculous.

The camera lens shape magnifies objects at the edges and shrinks objects in the middle to fit a wide view in a small space and make it appear undistorted. Your bare eyes perceive the moon as a dominant feature about the size of a quarter dollar held at arm’s length, which is the same relative size of the sun from here.

Ah- she can't appoint a VP if Biden is out via the 25th- she's only the acting president until the President announces he's ready to return. He has to resign or be imoeached and found guilty and removed from office entirely for her to be able to appoiont a VP.
