I've heard many people criticize Red Hot Chili Peppers for focusing too many of their songs on California, so I think it's pretty funny that Anthony Kiedis mixed up Long Island for Long Beach.
‘Under the Bridge’ has stood the test of time. Good discussion with Rogan, and as much as I love the Peppers, I’ve never listened to an interview with Anthony.
What makes the RHC Peppers great is their signature style changes from hit to hit. Their focus is really on LA which is a planet all in its own. My hometown. Got into them via Blood Sugar Sex Magik in '92 when we moved from north Georgia to Santa Cruz. It like lifestyle theme music for surfing mountain biking bar-b-queing and dancing with beach girls in sun dresses.
Kick-start the golden generator Sweet talk but don't intimidate her Can't stop the gods from engineering Feel no need for any interfering Your image in the dictionary This life is more than ordinary Can I get two, maybe even three of these? There is a Long Beach in Long Island, and Rick Rubin is in fact from there (Lido Beach section to be precise). I wish I liked the RHCP music more because their story is great.
A fun band to see live. I recall their big year at the Grammy’s (‘92, I think… last time I watched that show) and all of ‘em taking over the stage after a while and jumping up on very large speakers, crouching and making exaggerated monkey masturbatory motions in between accepting awards.

Why do some men think these pimp/sex offender/asshole facial hair stylings enhance their appearance?
Anthony's Halloween costume looks like a mix between Frank Zappa and Oates.
Looks like he's dressed as Sonny Bono.
And 'Lilly, a dog', perhaps Spnny Bono dresses as Zappa.

Anthony became a caricature of himself a long time ago.
Along with 'The Doors,' RHCP are one of the worst 'popular' bands in history.
Fight me.
Relax Joe. There is no accounting for taste.

Quite a scene.
