"Will did the impression of a perfect person for 30 years, and he ripped his mask off and showed us he was as ugly as the rest of us."

"Whatever the consequences are… I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on again, and lets his real face breathe. I see myself in both men."

Said Chris Rock, getting around to doing humor about the Will Smith incident, reported in The Daily Mail.

Very gentle humor. Very unifying. What a sweetheart!

Sounds like it could apply to Cosby...

The truth will set you free.

I won't say that people should simply be true to themselves - because some people are obnoxious, evil bastards - but they should be true AFTER conforming themselves to truth. Specifically the truth that we are made for good.

All Will Smith showed us is that like most men, he does not know how to handle female betrayal.

"Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face." -Chris Rock

That should go on a t-shirt.

Few words. But true and undeniable...

I'm ready for a return to classy forgiveness and gentle manners. Good for Rock.

FWIW, it's actually Chappelle who said that, according to the current version at the link.

Whatever Smith might ever say, almost everyone sees the slap as his way to consummate his anger...and imagines that his wife has been on the incoming end.
