You probably dont know this but Hurricane Fiona (Cat4 just downgraded to Cat 3) is working its way by Bermuda tonight. Its a much bigger hurricane than Earl that skirted by us last week. Forecasts suggests gusts up to 90 knots or 103 mph. We are all battened down. Compared to Earl people are taking this one seriously. Here's a satellite shot of the hurricane. In the whole scheme of things it makes you feel quite insignificant!

Don't know why I was thinking about it today, but being right when people above you are more credentialed and have fancier titles are wrong doesn't do your career any good if you're looking for advancement. Because they're the ones who have to recommend you or even make the promotion descision, and simply by being right when they were wrong embarasses them. No two ways about it. There's no way to point it out without doing so.

I can point out numerous examples or someone low in teh ffod chain pointing out to the high muckety mucks- "If you do X, Y will happen, and Y is bad." And they ignored him. And Y happened. Know what happens to the high muckety mucks when Y happens after being warned about it? Nothng. Beceause the warning came from peons. And all the experts said- "Hey, we're experts, everything's going to be fine."

I work inphysical plants, boilers and steam and hydrauilics, where beung wrong can kill you and maybe others at the same time.

Medicine is different. When medicos screw up, they can kill or injurs thousands at a time. Thalidomide anyone? How about Vioxx? (Which, BTW, did kill my knee pain while it was available...)

How about- the vaccine for the dreaded covid? There's a history, which I was quickly aware of, as a way down below peon who operates boilers and has noting to do with medicine. 1- there had never been a successful vaccine against any coronavirus 2- there had never been a successful therapuetic outcome from any mRNA treatment. So what happens when you take two things with a history of failure? This magical shot that keeps you from getting the dreaded covid! And everyone who said that is now walking it back and saying- "We never said that!" The internet is forever- they did. So the vaccine that doesn't work doesn't keep ypou from getting the dreaded covid. Eh, who cares? Provided that's all it does. But- that isn't all it does. It kills people.

Got my flu shot today. Phamacy tech looked at my record and asked if I wanted the dreaded covid vaccine that doesn't work. More or less politely (I didn't swear) he got told no. Next years flu shots are supposedly going to have an mRNA formulation. I suspect that by next year this time mRNA vaccines will be completely discredited.

BTW, it's not just us peon boiler operators who notices at the beginning there was something wrong with the whole mRNA vaccination thing and how it works- there were a number of doctors who notices. Several have lost their licenses to prqctice. Mostly because- they were right, and the high muckecty mucks were wrong.

My problem from teh beginning- the spike proetin is a known pathogen. By everyone. WHat does the mRNA vaccine do? It instructs your body cells to create the known pathogen and release it into the bloodstream! WTH? It's pretty much completely obvious that this is a really stupid idea. Let's say instead of doing that, they took a vat of yeast, programmed it to produce the spike protein, purified the protein, then injected it straight into your body? Same thing, right? Your body sees the spike protein and develops and antoboody against- just that spike protein, just like the one that the mRNA in your body produces! Why didn't they do that, a lone step instead of a two step process? Two reasons, one, it would be a lot cheaper, and two, they'd all be arrested for injecting a known poison into people's bodies...

We don't yet know just how bad the mRNA vaccine that doesn't work will turn out. I suspect we're headed towards worst case scenario- where if you're fully bossted and eveything, 6 years or less from now, you're going to be dead. Just the first two shots? 8-10 years...

For those arguing that if the Trumps and their businesses should be sued by lenders, if they committed fraud, not NY State, the SEC has just offered a counterpoint. It has fined Boeing $200M and its ex-CEO $1M for misleading investors over the 737 Max jet's safety in the wake of fatal crashes. Presumably investors could have sued (and perhaps have), but the SEC wanted to make its point.

These nominees are the strongest across the board that I have noticed in his Tic Toc feature. The quality is at such a high level that I am going to go full artist and find choosing between any one of them to be absurd. If I must make a chose, then it's a seven way tie for best.

September 2021 I was diagnosed with Covid at the local urgent care clinic. I requested a prescription for Ivermectin. I was literally scoffed at. Quoting the response: "Ha, that's a horse medicine and I am a horse person. Go home and tough it out". Which I did.

Recently while perusing Dr. Internet, I stumbled across a study that showed how effective the dreaded Ivermectin was against Covid. Yesterday I paid a visit to clinic and dropped off a copy of said study and explained to the greeter my history. She responded by saying the doctors were not permitted to prescribe it. I left by asking how many lives were lost because of that.

Trump never defaulted on anything, so how does that compare to fatal crashes?

Lol readering. Same thing, clearly.

My disgust with Hillary is well documented in these pages, but I don’t wake up thinking about ways to put her in jail. I can’t imagine spending my days thinking of novel interpretations of arcane areas of the law to get her if a thorough investigation of actual lawbreaking had turned up no evidence, which is the situation with Donald Trump. Hillary has been politically neutered in the court of public opinion, and that is good enough. I don’t want to live in a country where prosecutors run on a platform of putting a political enemy in jail. In a decent world, where rights are respected, that prosecutor should recuse herself based on her conflict of interest.

People like readering don’t care about fair play in the law, however. This is why it is critical to throw the Democrats out, the destruction of fair play in the law, in this case you could call it a prosecution of attainder, is far more harmful to the United States than anything that Trump is accused of by his political enemies.

Anybody wonder why the scathing report by the International atomic energy organization criticized the Russians’ management of that nuclear power plant, but never mentioned the shelling? It’s almost as if they were more afraid of the Ukrainians than the Russians and were co-opted by the US.

Most people would assume that the shelling, which created the risk of a meltdown, was the key issue.

Securities and Exchange Commission, they deal with publicly traded companies. But the if you hang around the executive suites, valuing assets is a huge area of personal opinion, gussied up with arcane lexicon.

Tromp is privately owned.

Apparently a new strain of Omicron is looking like the “most contagious virus ever,” take a bow, Dr Fauci, but since nobody is reporting on its virulence, I am going to assume that it’s flu like again. Supposedly it can evade previous infection’s antibodies, so presumably those of the boosters too, though the press does not mention that.

Remember when Dr Fauci changed the definition of gain of function to make it legal, despite the intent of Congress, to modify a bat virus to infect humans. The virus can’t even infect bats anymore. If we lived in a real democracy, where our leaders cared about us, rather than despising us, Fauci would be on trial right now, but we have the important case of numbers in a private contract where nobody was harmed and everybody made money.

Fines imposed by a regulatory agency aren't the same thing as lawsuits. Investors are free to sue Boeing if they wish. A regulatory agency can impose a fine on the Trump Organization if they believe something illegal was done, but that's not what is going on.
