Ukraine used a HIMAR strike in an assassination attempt against a civil official in a downtown area yesterday. Just saying. We give them these weapons.
So now they want to arrest and jail DeSantis for sending consenting people to a city that posted signs everywhere that they would be welcomed. I guess that the prosecution's argument will be, and I admit there is some truth to it, that "everybody knows those signs are bullshit."
AOC says it's a "crime against humanity" to be flown all expenses paid to Martha's Viniard. How would AOC describe the migrants' hellish journey to Mexico and beyond, I'll never know. No one dares ask her any tough questions.
And that's the point of my meandering comment. I put AOC's overblown rhetoric at the feet of Journalists, what Althouse quaintly calls the mainstream press, for not holding her pronouncements to the same standards they hold the rhetorical flares of say Georgia's congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene.
'tim in vermont' and someone else (I forget who) assured us a couple of weeks ago that the Russians had "proved" something implausible - that the Ukrainians were shelling their own nuclear power plant, I think it was. I asked for a link to such a proof, or even to any evidence at all. No reply from either of them, though one of them (I forget which) did comment further on that post.
Now t.i.v. assures us, without any link, that the Ukrainians have murdered a civil official (name? office?) in a "downtown area" (of what city? in which country?) with a Himars (how would he know for sure?) and that that was a war crime. If he gave a link we could easily find out whether he is exaggerating or even falsifying his claim. Will he give one now?
Meanwhile, he seems curiously incurious about the biggest news out of Ukraine in the last couple of days, the exhumation of 445 bodies of civilians (so far) who died in Izyum under Russian occupation, most of them with marks of torture and murder on their bodies, some of them children. That's just about 1% of the population of Izyum, and that is a massive war-crime.
Also the bodies of 17 Ukrainian soldiers. Not a war-crime to kill them, you say? It is if you shoot them in the head after tying their hands behind their backs. They also found a pit in which the fleeing Russians had tossed five of their own wounded, whom they shot dead so they wouldn't hinder their flight, and didn't even bother to cover up.
Anyone who followed even the first one or two of the Twitter feeds I recommended a few days ago would know all this. Why doesn't 'tim in vermont'?
Finally, the most interesting thing on the first of the feeds I mentioned today (@DefMon3) was a link to someone calling himself 'LowerCascadianbridgetroll' (@541LCBT), who has compiled a very handy list, with pictures, of actual Russian Nazis, one of them shaking hands with Putin, many fighting in Ukraine, with pictures and explanations of the various factions and their symbols. They far surpass Ukrainian Nazis in numbers and social acceptance, yet we only hear about the latter from people who like to think of themselves as decent and fair-minded.
One more thing: I don't believe killing civilian officials is always a war-crime. If the official is (e.g.) a Nazi Gauleiter or a bureaucrat in charge of shipping people to death camps - or just killing people by the hundreds in small towns like Izyum - I'm pretty sure they're fair game.
You’re so steeped in their propaganda, Weevil, that I see no point in arguing with you. Whatever evidence I provide, you will, in the truest nazi fashion, dismiss as lies. Yes, Russia has killed thousands of Ukrainian soldiers, and sure, if you dig up a cemetery, you will find civilians buried there, with headstones, btw.
But if you honestly believe that Russia would shell an NPP in territory that they control and expect to govern, when the most likely result of an accident there would be to draw NATO into the war, which has been a nazi goal from the start, and which Russia could easily do with missile strikes on NATO bases supplying the Ukrainians, I will never make you see reason.
There are no headstones at the mass grave in Izyum: 440+ civilians were dumped in a mass grave in the forest. There are no skeletons of long-dead townspeople: they all died in the last 7 months, and most of them were murdered, many tortured.
Talking about nonexistent headstones makes you sound exactly like one of those people who claim that Hitler didn't kill any Jews, that the gas chambers were actually just cleansing showers, that Zyklon-B was just a disinfectant, that the Nazis were kindly helping all the dirty Jews (and Gypsies, Gays, and Communists) kill their lice and bedbugs, and that the crematoria were only necessary because so many Jews died of natural causes or filth-related epidemics or were killed by Allied bombing.
Your denial of Russia's atrocities in Ukraine is exactly like theirs. That may not make you precisely a Nazi, but it certainly makes you Nazi-friendly, Nazi-adjacent, like the Russians in the Twitter thread I linked. Calling me one is just a pitiful case of projection on your part.
In deference to our host (you deserve none) I will avoid obscenities, but you are in fact a coprophagic swine, utterly beneath the contempt of any decent person.

I have a theory as to why we're getting the Oops error posting screen.
Google wants Althouse blog to pay more for more space... or something.

I'm only here for the TikTok links.
AOC just said “refugees are a blessing.”
There will be busses of illegal immigrants headed for Queens…..count on it.

So let's keep sending blessings to MV...a thousand a day should be fine.
As for Queens, it's most likely already 50% illegals...

Althouse keeps saying "some people love them".
It's true, not a joke.
Good to hear from ya Pete.

If DeSantis sends them to Flushing, the Gov is going to be crucified... again.
Forget about Martha's Vineyard; how is Martha's wine?
Does anyone know what happened to the 11,000 illegals Brandon flew around the country at night?
Thanks, Lem!
If the Ruskies go nuke on Ukraine, will they use Hillary's uranium? They got plenty from her.
