Tonight, I've assembled 7 TikToks. They all amused me. Why not you?

1. Grandma doesn't like your hippie look.

2. Kayaking beginning at the source of the Mississippi.

3. The 4-year-old in the "dinstance."

4. The young man catches himself thinking like an adult.

5. Splitting logs with a triple ax.

6. "I want more."

7. The local bollards.

Never would have guessed local bollards would be so amusing.

Triple axe is great is you have small, straight-grain, knot-free wood to work with. I split 5 cord a year. Many logs require full strength, all-in swings and many require multiple hits. They guy would get nothing done at my house with such a hokey contraption.

Try using that triple ax gadget with pieces of wood not all the same length. Would be interesting to see the outcome...from a distance.

If he had saved "Bennett Chode" for last, I would have believed all the others were actual names of types of bollards.

Yes, it's amusing to wonder if the names could be real.

Why not me? Seeing the lowest common denominator pretending to be funny insightful Andy Rooney wannabes is depressing. I don't get the modern addiction to social media anecdotes designed to excite, frighten and outrage with a chaser of moronic entertainment bits and bobs.

The local bollards.

In another life, I drew and even lifted some of these.

"From the headwaters of Lake Itasca north to New Orleans..."

North? No south.

I've fished Lake Pepin which is a part of the Mississippi River near Red Wing, and have taken US 61 to LaCrosse home. That dude has a looooong way to go.

I want to see the hippie outfit!
Awesome kayaking. I would never have the patience even to hike for a day.
"I want more" was pretty funny.
"In the dinstance" was on point. I am still struggling with my toddler's query: "Mommy, when will it be yesterday?"

The child that keeps saying "dinstance" for "distance" is also confusing time and space, which makes me think the child imagines the word "instance" to be present in the word "distance."

He has many clips using that idea. If it struck you as funny, go to his page to watch more of them:

And the corollary: When was it tomorrow?

In the dinstance explains a lot. So much, so very much, is in the dinstance.

The Mississippi does flow north from Lake Itasca to Bemidji.

I seem to be a sucker for finding acting like an adult or parents amusing. Progressive Insurance has commercials "starring" Dr. Rick whose mission is to help a younger generation not turn into their parents. I usually laugh at the silly examples that need his intervention.

There is no way I would want to kayak the Mississippi south of St Louis. That is a busy river. You might as well just kill yourself.

Wait until #4 has kids and he sounds like his parents....it is hard for all of us.

Most adults I know have better things to do than look at tik tok.

Was publishing that comment one?
