I start tomorrow on three and a half days of restricted diet on behalf of being cleared out for a colonoscopy on Wednesday. Will probably shed some poundage at the same time, and I may like the result enough to make it permanent.

It will be interesting to see how often I have to catch myself.

Those who were at one time referred to as fat people are now "Persons living with obesity," and it's a medical diagnosis. Southwest Airlines refers to them as "Person of Size" when advising them to book 2 seats if they can't fit into one.

Just like persons who live with substance addiction, or, slightly OT, "persons experiencing homelessness" who previously were known as addicts or junkies, or hobos.

All of these people now have "diseases" that the medical profession has taken an interest in. Lack of self discipline or self control no longer enters the equation. These are chemical imbalances that require therapy and medication for resolution. Follow the $.

I remember being a horny teenage boy back in the last millennium. I really wanted to get up close and personal with any number of young ladies in high school. I was a person of horn. I doubt that my innate desire to do so was any less compelling or controlling then than the desire of a typical obese-American to consume that next Ding Dong or Big Mac. I lived through it undamaged due to a very small amount of self discipline and a large amount of enforcement on the part of my intendeds. No unwanted pregnancies, no STDs.

Are (some of) the folks peddling puberty blockers trying to make a buck from those teenagers suffering from my previous condition? For those curious, my condition has gone into partial remission.; 8/7/22, 8:14 AM

I can't comprehend how Liz, or her political consultants, or whoever else was involved, could watch that video and think it was a good idea to release it. How many votes will that gain her? That's because he was trained by the KGB to keep his right arm straight down at his side, in order to be close to his holster. You can see this in the way he walks while barely moving his right arm. I'm guessing he is armed nearly all the time. So maybe that is why he is swatting the fly away with his left arm.
