"Secrecy is exactly what is wrong about this."

The image says: "The bottom line: These investigations are top secret. So more likely than not, we won't get the full picture any time soon."

Isn't there something in our constitution about, "Star Chambers"?
You just know there's a shit ton of graft involved if they're willing to go this far. When this doesn't pan out for them they'll try ands put a bullet in him.

There's more than secrecy wrong with it.

The author probably does not realize that it's possible and rather easy to create classified information by compiling a few unclassified public sources. The classified information rules are rather bureaucratic and arbitrary, and they serve to cover up sloppy federal employee work as a bonus feature.

And in the end, many in power forget that the people are the bosses in a democracy. They slowly drift into being tin hat dictators akin to Eric Cartman of Southpark "Respect my authority!"

They're after Trump's use of pronouns.

They just treating Trump like a drug dealer.

Hillary's server could not be reached for comment. Hunter's laptop was ignored. (again.)

He's right, Trump should release the documents. One wonders if they put stuff in there that they knew Trump would be forced to redact as a spoiling attack on this line of defense.

Again - I wonder what the democrat party Soviet FBI will plant?

It's possible that the search warrants and so on included a gag order. While Trump could defy a gag order, it is an inhibition against Trump making the materials public.

This is weaponizing the force and power of government to neuter political opponents. And this is far more dangerous to our Republic than anything snarling Dick Cheney was talking about on his recent commercial. Its what authoritarian countries do. And they also did it when the FBI lied to the courts to get the FISA warrant to spy on Trump. And they did it for 3 1/2 years during the farce that was the "Russian Collusion" investigation, which proved to be wholly based on lies.

And the Dems are applauding it because they're convinced (by the media?) that, no matter how abusive to our system of government, whatever is done to 'hurt' Trump, is in the service of righteousness.

Here's the funny thing - the left (and Vichy Republicans) let their hatred of Trump fester and turn them into the very things they accused Trump of being. They're the ones who're 'destroying democracy'.

wendybar said...

I don't trust any of them. They could very easily have planted something. I wouldn't put it past them. They lied to us for over 5 years about the Hillary funded Fake Russian Collusion, so why wouldn't they lie to us now??

Mr Wibble said...

No we can't see the warrant. It's double-top-secret. It's so secret that it goes to school in Canada and you wouldn't know it.

Gilbert Pinfold said...

The judge who signed the warrant in FL used to be a federal prosecutor chasing Jeffrey Epstein, and then was hired by Epstein to defend him in suits by victims. Perfectly normal career arc.

Trump and his supporters have "weaponized" the "raid" "against Democrats." - Shorter Axios

What we know is that this raid wasn't authorized by the President of the United States, ostensibly Joe Biden (is he even able to act as the President, owing to his advanced dementia?)

So the DoJ is operating outside its portfolio and attacking Joe Biden's political opponents on the eve of an historic election which will see Democrats all across the country booted from office.

It's pretty clear that the FBI and DoJ are out of control federal agencies, out to get Trump because he fired James Comey, who unilaterally decided that Hillary Clinton wasn't going to be prosecuted for taking 33,000 Top Secret files out of the White House and storing them on pervert pedophile Anthony Weiner's laptop. And of course the head of the Department of Justice is out to get Trump for denying him "his seat" on the US Supreme Court (resulting in the overturning of Roe v. Wade).

None of these people should be holding federal office and they've all got tainting conflicts of interest.

One hopes Trump will fight them with vigor and fire every single goddamn one of them once he's elected President again, assuming they don't assassinate him, which is now obviously very likely.

Wonder what they planted in his Mar-A-Lago safe and I also wonder why the FBI isn't so vigorous in its search for the billionaires who partook of Jeffrey Epstein's underage hookers.

Trump said last night that he had been cooperating with the relevant federal agencies, so he was in in the secret.

Remind me again: wasn't Nixon thrown out of office after a burglary of a political opponent?

Exactly what do we do when it is open official raiding of political opponents? If we threw out Nixon, why shouldn't we tar and feather Biden and the rest?

Dear corrupt left, go F yourselves said...

as seen on twitter:

"Biden is the dictatorship they spent years pretending Trump was."

Jaq said...

If the search warrant is sealed, can Trump still release it? Would that be a process crime?

Left Bank of the Charles said...

Now there are reports that one of Trump’s personal lawyers was present for the search. I think we will find that “unannounced” did not mean what many think it meant,

‘Trump said last night that he had been cooperating with the relevant federal agencies, so he was in in the secret.’

Glad you agree he had been cooperating with the Archives. So why the raid?

Beasts of England said...

‘DOJ must immediately explain the reason for its raid & it must be more than a search for inconsequential archives or it will be viewed as a political tactic and undermine any future credible investigation & legitimacy of January 6 investigations.’

Which MAGA yokel just tweeted that? Andrew Cuomo.

To be fair, i think that Darth Cheney was using the "Don't make me hit you again" strategy.
Because Of Trump.. The DeepState HAD TO do ALL these terrible things.

IF NOT for Trump, The FBI would NEVER have had to OPENLY collude with the DNC
IF NOT for Trump, The vote harvesting and fraud could have been kept to reasonable levels
IF NOT for Trump, The Joint Chiefs would not have had to Announce that they were kowtowing to china

Is this what normal, ordinary, "boring"/ politics looks like?

Good morning Mr. Smith. We're here from the FBI and the IRS. Google has informed us that you post subversive pro-Trump comments filled with misinformation on the Althouse blog under the pseudonym Gusty Winds. We also understand you are not vaccinated so you will have to remain outside while we go through this process.

We have a warrant here signed by a judge in Madison giving us permission to search your premises and for any suspect material. This won't take long, but we sure would appreciate some coffee and a Kenosha Kringle if you happen to have one.

Nice house you got here. What's behind those walls? Hey Jack!! Get the sledgehammer our of the van and bring it in.

My first thought was "my God, the DOJ and FBI are trying to incite violence to justify martial law".

The usual suspects will appear and tell us what they have been told to tell us.

Where is the letter signed by all the law school deans condemning the raid on Mar a Lago? When something happens of such political, legal, and cultural importance happens, don't they always issue a letter offering counseling and "safe spaces" for their students to gather for support and "self care". Will classes be cancelled? Or at least absences excused? Therapy dogs and ice cream provided? No? Why not?

That would be a clever way to do it. Make Trump punishable to a process law that also prevents him from having free speech.

We knew when the election was stolen with $300 million Zuckbucks that this was a lawless regime. Why is anyone surprised at the lawless behavior of the corrupt FBI and DOJ?

They took unopened boxes. It's a straight-up fishing expedition.

Damn federal courts. First they sign off on search warrant of Southern White House. Then they sign off on House getting ex-president's tax returns. What will they think of next?

The tweet is wrong. Trump doesn't have the right to see the underlying affidavits until and unless he is indicted. He has right to see warrant but it doesn't say very much.

The left: Trump = Hitler

Therefore, anything goes in the effort to bring him down.

Would you do it that way, if you were trying to least to give the appearance of transparency and trust?
