"I really don’t think there’s any need to have a discussion. He did a good job last year, kind of got off the rails this year."

Said Robin Vos, quoted in "A Top Wisconsin Republican Fires the 2020 Election Investigator He Hired/Robin Vos, the speaker of the State Assembly, said he was ending a widely criticized 14-month inquiry into the state’s 2020 results led by Michael Gableman, a former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice" (NYT).
In March, the former justice presented state legislators with a report that said they should consider decertifying the election.... As Mr. Vos resisted the decertification push, Mr. Gableman continued to promote false election claims. Last week, he endorsed Mr. Vos’s Trump-backed primary opponent, a far-right political neophyte named Adam Steen who came within a few hundred votes of toppling Mr. Vos.
At an election-night party after his narrow victory on Tuesday, Mr. Vos said that Mr. Gableman was “an embarrassment to the state.”... “There were problems with the 2020 election that we need to fix — all of those things are real,” he said Wednesday on a conservative talk radio show in Milwaukee. “But somehow, Justice Gableman, as the investigation began to come to an end, decided it was more important to play to Donald Trump and to play to the very extreme of our party who thought we could unconstitutionally overturn the election than it was to be responsive to his client, which was the Legislature.”
Mr. Vos said in that interview that he had given Mr. Gableman “some very clear direction: ‘You can’t be involved in politics, you can’t go to rallies. We want you to be an independent voice.’ And he broke that.”

false election claims.

what were these 'false' election claims?

Let’s say that Wisconsin and a few other states Trump lost decertify the 2020 results and certify Trump as the winner, and Congress were to somehow accept that and declare Trump to be the 2020 winner. Wouldn’t that bar Trump from running in 2020 under the 22nd Amendment? “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.” The only way Trump can run again in 2024 is if his claim that he won the 2020 election is false.

How did Vos decide that Gableman’s conclusions should be ignored? We’re those conclusions suppressed? Something here lacks transparency. Then again, so much of the 2020 election lacked transparency.

At least until 2016, there always seems to have been a consensus that no matter how badly an election is run, it is better to accept the outcome than to try to de-certify or create increasing uncertainty, which undermines many office-holders. "Everyone" wants the winners to get on with their jobs, and in fairness to Trump's critics, he may be violating that trust--although, here we go again, perhaps not as much as Hillary and her allies did over 2016. Trump is in a position to a public-spirited thing and say that future elections should be run in a better way: chain of custody for all ballots, ID of voters, etc. If extra days are allowed for voting, there should probably be no "I take my vote back because my candidate has dropped out"; the ballot itself is anonymous.

There is nothing wrong with Gableman. Vos only started the investigation as a placating effort. He just wanted to say “see I did something”. But he never wanted anything REALLY looked into. You can tell he’s a RINO because he cares more about what the Milwaukee Journal and NYTs writes about him, than he does Republican voters in the state. He is infected with Madisonitus.

He represents a district right around Racine. Racine received Zuckerbucks to harvest and stuff absentee ballots. After the WI Supreme Court ruled drop boxes are illegal in WI, Racine just put their drop boxes on wheels. Vos says nothing. He was only re-elected 51-49. He almost got clipped. That’s pretty close for a sitting Assembly Speaker. Dems in Wisconsin now want to “audit” Gableman’s investigation, rather than look at the investigation. Vos is a coward. So are the talk show hosts on WISN.

2020 fraud and blatant election law violation in WI is real. The WEC needs to be disbanded. Dumbest thing Walker and the WI GOP ever did. They the thought it would shut Dems up. Instead the WEC allowed clerks to ignore election laws, and then tried blocking any audit of ballots.

Look at how Kari Lake is approaching Arizona’s voter fraud vs. Robin Vos. She’s got balls. The “let’s move on” GOP leaders in WI know the absentee fraud is now baked in. Robin Vos is the Paul Ryan of Liz Cheneys. The 2020 fraud was real. At the moment it is why our country is splitting at the seams, the establishment is grabbing enormous power, acting unaccountable to the people, and about to arrest a former President on fake charges.

A million dollars of Wisconsin taxpayer money to a conspiracy theory Trump minion Gableman, who thought he had a great gig raking in the dough and keeping a farcical investigation going until 2022. He should’ve been fired a year ago and he should’ve never been hired to start with. Vos is a fool who too late realized he had hitched his wagon to a donkey instead of a rising star, Trump. Vos should’ve had the courage to resist Trump and his cult base’s demands like the Georgia state government. Vos deserves derision from Trump which he’s getting ( ha, Trump called him a RINO too funny)and from Wisconsin taxpayers alike.

Sadly because of massive gerrymandering, Wisconsinites aren’t going to be able to get rid of a Republican majority. Other states are in this same dilemma. Voter majorities who lose because of the real cheaters, who drew up these voter districts, what a sham and a shame. What a sordid mess thanks to cowards in our state government. Thank goodness for Governor Evers. Our only hope is to keep a Democratic Governor.

Wrong answer. Gabelman didn't understand his role.

Notice that Vos did not name any specific vote fraud allegations that Gableman got wrong and why. Once again, a would—be Democrat slanders an honest investigator because his findings help the case of Trump. Vos is a corrupt politician with no integrity. Too bad that he narrowly won his primary. Or did he given how he learned how to fraud the system from 2020 and Gableman’s findings. Wisconsin voters have been disenfranchised. So much for democracy.

How many millions did Wisconsin Dems waste chasing and harassing Walker? No wonder Wisconsin taxes are so high! Give us back Proxmire and the Golden Fleece Award.

Gableman ran wildly over budget and found every reason to charge the taxpayers.

If he is a patriotic hero, why was making a mint off the public? Especially given he already is drawing a fat state pension?

Gableman is the swamp. Didn't you guys want to drain it?

Levi Starks said...

Here’s my problem,
Any election fraud claims made by Democrats are by default true unless a thorough investigation proves otherwise.
Any election fraud claims made by Republicans are by default deemed to be false, and any attempt to do any investigation will only earn the investigator the label of “denier” and the results of said investigation will be dismissed as being not worth examination. Because of course the investigation began with false politically driven motivations.

Gableman is drawing a fat state pension? I though Walker got rid of fat state pensions. I thought that was what Act Out 10 was all about. And it was upheld by the WI Courts.

Al Gore could not be reached for comment. He is still too deep in 2000 election materials.

Vos is a typical Paul Ryan loser republican. Imagine how a D speaker would act, if the D's thought the Republicans stole an election!

Everyone who voted against Vos, should vote for Vos' opponent in the General. Get rid of him. Punish tratiors. Its the only way to win.

The Conservative Republicans always play the dumb loser game. The RINO manages to barely beat their candidate, usually through smears and with the help of the Liberal press or even D votes. Then the Republcans conservatives "fall in line" and support the RINO in the General.

When its reversed, and the Conservative wins fair and square against a RINO, the "Establishment" either sits on their hands, or actually works AGAINST the Conservative in the General. IOW, its RINO "Rule or Ruin". "Party loyalty for thee, not for me".

Vos is a traitor. He should be punished. If he won the primary, let him lose the General.

BUZZZZ! Wrong answer! Gore did not carry for years after the election, asserting everyone at every opportunity that he had been the rightful winner. After a brief period just after the election in which the state did a recount, Gore accepted the outcome, (despite there having been plenty of evidence of Bush team bad acts in Florida to swing the election).

Get back to me when he's lost more than a 1,000 federal and state elected seats during his time in office. You know, like President Precious managed to do.

Why do you think you got no bench now? And your best candidate was a drooling buffoon.

Wasn't Trump who caused it.

I've got neighbors who still have faded, 'Selected Not Elected' bumper stickers.

To this day Gore - and his followers - refuse to accept he lost.

Gotta be Vos bootlicker Jay Weber's show. He had Vos on after the election and allowed Vos to deflect from/claim vindication the actual challenge of relative newbie Steen.
If you were on Vos' email list during Covid over-reach, you'd understand why so many came to hate him.

Well well well. Look what New Soviet Democratical just noticed what the conservatives have been saying about the Uniparty fakecon republicans for almost 6 years.

Now lets see if this idiot Once Bitten can get "all the way home" in Reality World by extending that thought to the next several logical inferences.....

I dont have alot of a confidence in this idiot doing that, yet one can hope.
