I can’t identify the aerial object in the third photo, but my best guess is a flying snapping turtle.

Seriously, you could sell a calendar.

"flying snapping turtle"?

Return of Gamera.

I want to run my fingers along the first pic, or lick it. I usually don't have that reaction to landscape.

This intersects with the Peterson post. Regarding that, if not for Peterson's remark, how many fewer people would even know what the hell happened to that person. I heard the name and knew the general subject - trans something - one way or the other. In any case, none of my damn business - additional details are unnecessary.
Anyway, after looking forward to the new season of The Orville, it is disappointingly unfunny. The show started out as a comedy/sci-fi/adventure/drama. Even amidst the dramatic portions, the characters had a sense of humor and had funny lines. There were many gags that were really funny. In season two, there was a gag that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
So far in season three there were three unfunny and unmemorable episodes, one really unfunny (but surprising) episode, and this week it was unwatchable. Obvious, forced, cookie cutter, jr high amateur, whiny-assed bullshit. Five or 10 minutes in I started bumping ahead and bailed at about 20 minutes or so. It kept getting worse and worse. If they want to bang the trans thing like a 3 cup ladle on a 20 qt stock pot, fine, at least make it watchable. People are paying for that shit. There's an almost spiteful aspect to it - like it's a test. Like paying for a Yoko Ono performance and being expected to not walk out. How much will you take? Are they silently laughing at their fans? That's crazy talk but it was just so bad, it seems there must be another explanation.
Last week's show was also unfunny and potentially awful but they added a really interesting twist and even may have (unintentionally?) made an extremely un-PC abortion point. It was worth watching. The timing was unbelievable (same week as Roe overturned) . It's like they had the episode on the shelf ready to be deployed or had it scheduled for release to coincide with the Court's schedule. I don't know if that is even possible.
I wasted $ on a Hulu subscription for this one series. One more episode before this month's subscription expires. Fat chance Hulu gets another $14 from me. Maybe the next episode will be funny and I'll end up coughing it up anyway after all this yapping.

We attended a Mariners/(P)Athletics baseball game today in a suite. There were 13 of us, some retired Boeing people, a current Boeing employee and family. We had catered a hamburger/hot dog lunch with cookies/brownies as dessert. It was a good time for a party and an excuse to eat in excess.

The game was a tight pitchers' duel, which the Mariners won in the bottom of the ninth after breaking a 1-1 tie. The bases were loaded and Abraham Toro hit a single to right field to win it.

We did a suite event last year. I think we'll make a suite outing an annual event.

Yeah. For this, we're going to freeze and starve millions.

@Beasts of England, if you cannot positively identify a flying object then it is an unidentified flying object, or UFO.

CASSIDY
Song by Grateful Dead

I have seen where the wolf has slept by the silver stream
I can tell by the mark he left, you were in his dream
Ah child of countless trees
Ah child of boundless seas
What you are, what you're meant to be
Speaks his name, though you were born to me
Born to me, Cassidy

Lost now on the country miles in his Cadillac
I can tell by the way you smile, he is rolling back
Come wash the night-time clean
Come grow the scorched ground green
Blow the horn, tap the tambourine
Close the gap of the dark years in between
You and me, Cassidy

Quick beats in an icy heart
Catch-colt draws a coffin cart
There he goes and now here she starts
Hear her cry

Flight of the seabirds
Scattered like lost words
Wheel to the storm and fly

Faring thee well now
Let your life proceed by its own designs
Nothing to tell now
Let the words be yours, I'm done with mine

Headline: 10-year-old girl denied abortion in Ohio

10 year old girl? This is one of the hard examples where prosecutors and judges should turn a blind eye to, regardless of the law. But someone needs to be arrested and charged with statutory rape and child abuse. And the fetus will provide for identification of the guilty party beyond a reasonable doubt.

Don't know the full law, but most have an exception if it's necessary to save the life of the mother. 10 year old bodies aren't ready for childbirth. Were I a doctor I'd have no problem making that diagnosis on a pregnant 10 year old.

This is also a case for post birth abortion- of the child rapist. Once under arrest and on pre-trial confinement just put him in genpop and have all the guards turn their backs. And OMG, the cameras all malfunctioned! If they can malfunction when Epstein is murdered, they can malfunction for this.

Beasts @ 8:21: your guess is better than mine.

Great pics, and the cumulative record must be quite amazing. Like the blog: like a diary maintained over years and decades without much (or any) interruption. It’s a cultural object of increasing rarity, a thread through Time. And we get to see it being spun.

Mike of S- I’ve been to NBA and MLB games in suites decades ago. I like to watch the games and found it hard to do in suites because most of the people I’ve been with saw it as a social or party occasion and there was significant distraction from game watching. I almost got a partial suite for my business till my wife pointed out the required socializing required as a host. I love a great seat in the crowd.

Sounds like you were with fans though. Good for you.

Jefferson:

You're right. The suite is both a social and baseball watching event. At the start, it was mostly socializing with friends and missing a lot of the game. As the game went on, it morphed into baseball watching.

A positive thermal perturbation with an equal chance of negative perturbations over time, space, and atmospheric composition.
