I read another site that quoted all the love and acceptance people berating these players for being hateful, Christian bigots for not wearing the rainbow logos. When is Baseball going to have a Christian night where all the players wear team provided apparel with Bible verses on them? I bet these same loving, and accepting people would chastise all the hateful Chritophobes who refused to wear the verse on their uniforms as well. Right?
If the organization wants to honor a select group of people, it is welcome to do so, but it is inappropriate to force employees to actively participate. Note that this is different than kneeling for the Anthem. Ok not to put your hand over your heart, ok not to come out during the playing, but kneeling is a specific dishonoring. With the pride celebration, the equivalent to kneeling would be to wear a Bible verse condemning homosexual activity in lieu or the rainbow logo.
I really think it is inappropriate for teams to pander to select groups, especially ones that are at the center of controversy. But I guess they can't help themselves. Maybe next year the teams will require the players to play in fishnet stockings, red satin hot pants, and spiked heels. That would be a riot. I don't think even Trea Turner could steal a base in 4 inch spikes. Imagine Josh Hader throwing his legendary 3/4 side arm in 4 inch spikes! Yikes!
Good for them. Apparently, MLB learned nothing from the 2020 BLM fiasco. Three additional players on the Tampa roster also refused to wear the patch, but because they were not on the field when the media were present, they were not included in the number of players opposing wearing the patch in the final news reports.
Will the crybullies require that the Rays GM sanction the offending players? Will the team submit to people who probably are NOT the demographic that actually generates revenue for the team? Will the Rays go broke by going woke?
I don't mind celebrating Pride month, but when are we celebrating Sloth month? I think that one's my favorite.

I don't think it's fair to make such a sweeping statement about other people's motivations. Religion and faith have caused people to reach all sorts of conclusions - just as other considerations might have, but often with greater, or at least great, implicit force behind them.

The players who refuse to wear the pride patch can expect to be harassed and bullied by LQBTQ groups for not submitting to them. LQBTQ groups have historically backed anti-bullying campaigns and still do. I have noticed going back to the Supreme Court ruling where the Boy Scouts were sued for discrimination against gays and SCOTUS ruled for the Boy Scouts that LQBTQ groups are the biggest bullies on the block, going after anyone that doesn’t submit to them. For as small of a percentage of the population (maybe that is why they want to indoctrinate and recruit young children in school to add to their numbers, but I digress), they really have become the tail that wags the dog.
