A comment on one of those Times Dimbleby articles or, probably, on Rod Liddle's column.

One frightful neologism I heard the other day: "languaging", as in "You languaged that well." It was said at a select committee (in NZ) by a business expert, and I assumed he was a bit nervous and waffly, but no, he repeated it. Lean in to the languaging.

The more ill-educated and ill-read and real conversation-deprived people become, the more they will use fake language. Fake language doesn't presage good things for the Republic.

Here is a Vanity Fair article which reports that Trump did request 10,000 guard, and Pelosi's Capitol Police turned it down.

Was this discussed in the show trial?

Careful.

This is the kind of info that could drive gadfly back into Lefty Cope therapy.

I made it through the first few sentences of the Vanity Fair article before I ran to the bathroom to wretch.

Did you know that it was a "White Supremacists mob" that "stormed the Caitol".

While surfing at one of the auto part stores, I saw that Pennzoil synthetic motor oil is made from natural gas. Heats my home, generates electricity, cooks my food, makes fertilizer, plastic raw material, antifreeze .... what can't natural gas do? Frack away!

To quote Vanity Fair, Christopher Miller said Trump made a statement: "You’re going to need 10,000 people." That, my friend, was not a request, but it absolutely demonstrates that Trump already knew what was going to go down on Jan 6 just as the House Investigative Committee has pointed out.

And Tim, the Capitol Police do not report to Pelosi. "The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is overseen by the Capitol Police Board and has Congressional oversight by appropriations and authorizing committees from the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate."

And for those of us who watched the House Committee broadcast, we heard that calls were made all day to Mark Meadows asking him to get Trump to call off the dogs but no WH action was taken. Attempts made by the Capitol Police and the DC Mayor to get National Guard troops involved was a decision for the Pentagon, where Michael Flynn's brother Lt. Gen Charles Flynn was taking calls and may have overly delayed action. Michael, of course, was involved up to his ears in Trump's Jan 6 putsch.

The reason why on Jan6 most of MAGA went to DC in the first place has been lost.

Did these people need a permit? I don't understand what I'm looking at. Unless they are branded as domestic terrorist, stripped of the rights ordinary Americans enjoy.

Richard Epstein casts aside his Trump Derangement Syndrome and suggests it's the Democrats who have done most of the damage to the country recently.

Anyone watch Behind Her Eyes on Netflix, yet?
When listening to Peterson, he explains the set up of a storyline- this storyline is missing a very important part- if you ask me.

I’m bothered by it.

“Dr” Naomi Wolf on her Substack page relates how her position has evolved over time, and she by now has completely abandoned the left's narrative vis-a-vis gun control and the 2nd Amendment — Naomi notes that she's now a gun owner herself, and has a gun-toting husband who also protects her.

I mean- it was good, but… not a traditional finality.
So, it’s in my head(finished last night) & it’s unsettling.
Yeah, fiction/not real, a story. All that. It’s the little bit of truth in everything that gets me.

IF we were awake, we would worry more about THIS...then about murdering babies and setting up innocent Americans for a fake Insurrection. WHERE is congress?? Sleeping?? They all should be fired. They suck. https://eatgrueldog.wordpress.com/2022/06/11/planned-starvation-95-food-plants-and-farms-destroyed-in-past-year/

I wonder who speaks for these committees?
A speaker, perhaps?

Trump told them to do whatever it took and that it would take 10,000. I am sorry about your reading comprehension, he plainly authorized 10,000.

I would find this whole thing more interesting if there were impartial rules of evidence and an adversarial process where both sides could introduce whatever evidence that they felt helped there case, but Nancy decides is what we got.

At least gadfly has admitted that the Capitol Police shut down any offers of DOD help, even if he imagines that the woman with complete control over their budget has no say in it,

I got home from my bicycle commute one minute before a downpour started, from a storm that had formed after the commute started. Warning advance raindrops in the last five miles encouraged more haste than usual, though.
