From 7 signs of an abusive relationship: Compare to the bullying that is done by the people in leftist institutions...
1. Psychological and emotional abuse: Abusers often undermine their partner’s self-worth with verbal attacks, name-calling, and belittling. They might humiliate their partner in public, unjustly accuse their partner of [being a bigot], or interrogate them about their every behavior. In addition, they often keep their partner confused or off balance by saying they were just kidding or blaming their partner for “making” them act in these ways.
4. Threats and intimidation: One way abusers keep their partners in line is by instilling fear. They might be verbally threatening, or give threatening looks or gestures. ... They might destroy their partner’s possessions, threaten to harm them, or threaten to harm their family members.
5. Isolation: Abusers often limit their partner’s activities, forbidding them to talk or interact with friends or family. They might limit access to a [job] or [Organization] All of this ... is often accomplished through psychological abuse and intimidation. The more isolated a person feels, the fewer resources they have to help gain perspective on their situation and to escape from it.
6. Economic abuse: Abusers ... [control] access to funds of any kind [by blocking banking access].
The most important tool of the abuser is to take away the voice of the abused - to isolate them, demean them, shut them down, malign them, and gaslight to make sure that others do not take their claims seriously.
The NYT's David Leonhardt led off this mornings news digest with a piece discussing how the racial gaps in C-19 rates had closed since the beginning of the dempanic. Here is the lede:
One of the defining characteristics of the pandemic’s early stages was its disproportionate toll on Black and Latino Americans.
During Covid’s early months in the U.S., the per capita death rate for Black Americans was almost twice as high as the white rate and more than twice as high as the Asian rate. The Latino death rate was in between, substantially lower than the Black rate but still above average.
Black, Asian, Latino — all capitalized. As for white? Not so much.
Not just a one-off typo, either. The usage is the same over eight references.
I got bit by a dog today. First time in my 50+ years. Just taking a walk, minding my own business. I passed an older lady who was pushing a stroller. The mother was a bit behind her with another kid. The grandma also had a border collie on a leash. She had stopped and had turned back to talk to the mom. As I approached, I noticed the dog staring at me. It wasn't barking, but still, as I always do, I walked onto the grass next to the sidewalk, trying to give the dog a wide berth. Apparently, I didn't give it a wide enough berth. Just as I passed, it lunged and bit me in my calf. I went down, screaming an obscenity, then proclaiming the obvious: "Your dog bit me!" The mom ran to her house, which was nearby, to get a bandage and antibiotic ointment. I checked my leg, saw it was bleeding, and walked to their house. I got bandaged. They gave me the records showing the dog was up to date on all its shots. Back at home, I rinsed the wound under water (fyi, the doc later said that was the bestbthing i voukd have done) and replaced the bandage. Went to my doctor and got a prescription for antibiotics and a tetanus booster shot. Luckily, the bite doesn't hurt much, so far. And no side effects from the shot either, again, so far.
Overall, I'd say it was not as bad as my recent kidney stone attack, which sent me to the ER for the first time in 40+ years. Or the severe allergic reaction I had afer weeding the yard that was made worse by Afrin. Or my more recent case of food poisoning while staying at a hotel (thanks, Cheesecake Factory!). Still, it makes me wonder what the hell else 2022 has in store for me.

Obviously, its hyper-leftnoid editors decided to give that story "a good leaving-alone."
Disgraceful.
Clay Travis is the only one who posted this stupidity on 6/9 about the Kavanaugh incident (which didn't get as far as an assassination attempt) when an update was made to the NY Times original story from 6/8. Old news just doesn't make it to Page 1.

Professor, your photographs are beautiful. Why do so many of them make me think of nuclear war?
