I've read a lot of bizarrely horrified Twitter comments from the Left, but this one was just plain funny.

The Mini-Stalinist Twitterati employees know they have until the Musk deal closes to...uh..."modify" the algorithms (remove the code that would "convict" them in the court of public opinion) and thus hide their corrupt "fortifying"/pro-dem shenanigans because Musk absolutely will immediately move to make the code, and this the policies governing the code, open source.

The curtain will be pulled back and the lefties know it...and their actions to hide their work shows you just how NOT-proud they really are about what they've done and been doing.

Just as the groomer democraticals went scurrying from the light once it shone brightly on their horrific child sexualizing actions.

Musk is funny.

That he drives the collective leftist hivemind insane is even better.

I read last night that the code was "locked down", supposedly to prevent sabotage. IDK if that's true.

In any case, I've always assumed that the banning and censorship was done manually.

I like how Bezos brings up the China issue viz a vee Tesla's untanglments with raw material manufacturing and markets. He then speculates Tesla would suffer before Twitter was censored.

Maybe the bad blood shit is an act.

I guess the Musk-China connections and dependencies don't concerned you people because no one told you to incorporate it into the Talking points memo.

For numerous reasons Musk really should start Tweeting like HAL 9000.

If Twitter does not already have a solid source code control system (SCCS) in place, allowing for 100% change tracking, audit, AND reversion, then they are even more immature and f'd up than I had presumed.

Billions in ‘investments’ from the ChiComs in the Biden family did not bother Bezos, it’s almost as if it’s all a front for the rubes…

I bet Hunter Biden got more money personally from Chinese Communists in each of the last ten years than Musk did.

As much as the Biden-China connections, and the Bezos CHINA connection don't concern YOU people.

So, can we all agree that the prog rants at the Musk deal confirm that Twitter was their tool?

I, for one, am pleased that Musk finally put all the subsidies I sent him to good use.

Remember the Time-Warner/AOL merger. That guy at Time Warner, whose name I forget, had won the game of thrones at Time/Life and taken over Warner. The AOL merger was supposedly another step in his inexorable drive towards world domination. It takes drive and genuine brilliance to plan and execute an invasion of Russia....I accept that Elon Musk is smarter than most people, and my heart will rejoice if he fucks over those smug bastards who run the operation there. Still, he's paying a fat premium over the market price and without haggling. I don't know if an open platform and Musk's brilliance will bring all that much added value. I myself limit my impulse shopping to items that cost less than a billion.....I predict that the future will happen and not in ways that anyone predicts....Bezos makes a good point. His deep ties with Chinese suppliers makes his ownership of the Washington Post problematic.

You got another source for rare earth materials? Musk is trying to source them here in the U.S. but the Biden EPA is throwing obstacles in hos way. (when aren't they).

the drive for absolute ideological purity is getting stronger and stronger. It was really obvious when Trump got elected, with all the wailing going on, but the censorship has been ramping up ever since. What makes is doubly insane is that the Left can't even decide what the ideology is long enough for people to conform. Is it about "consent" or can men just shower with the ladies if they claim trans status? You can't have both. Just one example

If the woke flounce off from Twitter, leaving it to moderate Democrats, independents, and the right? Oh yeah, and global reach which no US politics based platform has any hope of attaining… Well, your terms are acceptable.

Often, in head-shaking times, I YouTube the compilations of newsrooms announcing Trump had beaten Hillary. A flawless restorative.

One of my first thoughts upon reading that Musk's bid had been accepted was to wonder how he's going to handle CCP demands for censorship. China could easily deny him access to their rare earths if he doesn't toe their line. That said - how much revenue does Musk personally create for the CCP through those purchases and other ventures? How painful would it be for China to decide not to sell to Musk? My guess is it would not be insignificant. But that's merely a guess.

It would require GitHub or whichever version control service Twitter was using to go in and delete entire repositories which are property of twitters new ownership.

All of this code is preserved forever by version control including all changes going back forever. This is what version control does.

So any deletion of these repositories is a crime and will be very obvious who did it.

Musk wants electric vehicles to replace gas vehicles. His deals with China made that happen.

What douchey fascist shitheads like you don’t understand is that most of us are not greedy control freaks like you. You can’t understand the perspective of people who just want to be left alone because you are an amoral piece of shit who just wants to hurt people you disagree with.

Twitter has been Orwell's MiniTrue realized, which delighted monsters like Howard. (Can you picture his glee when President Trump was banned?) What frustrates and frightens the monsters is the prospect of Twitter becoming a forum worthy of the republic founded in 1788, rather than remaining a tool of Democrat propaganda and disinformation.

Tesla down another 9% today, making it 21% down since the beginning of the month when he announced his stare in Twitter.

Musk is going to be selling increasing amounts of Tesla to raise the cash to afford this.

Gahrie said...

Musk gets paid in stock options, according to how Tesla performs. He is periodically forced by deadlines to exercise these options.

Musk already had about $14 billion in cash when he made the bid, and about half of the total price is being financed. The total purchase amount is about 10% of his estimated wealth.

The whole market is down, the trillions in wasteful spending by Democrats passed out to their favored supporters, in order to try to buy the election, to which the Fed has to respond by tightening, due to the runaway inflation it has caused, and Biden's disasterous war in Ukraine, has obliterated trillions in wealth, Tesla not spared.

i thought this was humorous:

Years ago in a different America, media folk would express concern that a rich guy buying a media outlet might enforce an ideological viewpoint. Now with Elon Musk and Twitter, the media pack is terrified that he won’t. The great fear among the press corps is that the social-media platform might allow all consumer thoughts to be expressed.

I've often been tempted to stop at garage sales and ask "How much?"

And that sale will encumber taxes. The cost of Twitter will be what he pays to Twitter plus the additional tax bill from the sale of his stock (just in case Elizabeth Warren doesn't understand).

Lurker21 said...

But what haunts him?

That he didn't say, "You like Twitter so much! Maybe you should marry Twitter!"?

Elon could have done that too, and the wedding would have been quite an event.
