He's right about Stelter, though it's more what Stelter says than how he says it that gets me, but I don't know if he's spent much time with Jon Stewart lately. There seems to be a thing where talk show host/comedians get weird and become hermits. Maybe Jack Paar started it. Letterman certainly went down that road. Carson might have too if the money didn't come in so easily and he (or his ex-wives) didn't want it so much. Lately it's been Jon Stewart's turn to grow a beard and start acting strangely. Has anybody looked in on Craig Ferguson or Craig Kilbourn or Steven Colbert lately? I'm starting to get worried about them.
Carson didn't become Letterman because Johnny Carson was NOT a wierdo, he was just a loner. The media enviroment was different. Carson was a leftist, but he didn't have contempt for the audience, and more importantly, he operated at a time that it was verboten to get too explicit in your politics.
Letterman spent the last 8 years of his show being asshole liberal/leftist, like attacking Palin's 18 y/o daughter. He was just as obnoxious and leftwing as Colbert by the time he left. He kept talking about how he would "Destroy Trump" if he ever got an interview, which was laughable since he was a TERRIBLE interviewer and fairly stupid politically. All Dave could do was snark and adopt a "that's so stupid" look on his face.
Mr. Potatohead at CNN so insanely stupid and odd, its bizarre that he's on the air. Originally, he was Jeff Zucker's mini-me butt-boy. That was his only purpose.
Neil Young accomplished one thing. YOung people now know who Neil young is. The same with old chick singer, who's name I never knew and have now forgotten.
Fascinating that it's their social skills that he focuses on and not their politics.
An awful lot of people still haven't figured out two things that have become quite clear over the last seven or eight years:
1) Go woke, go broke.
2) Show some respect to Middle American values, or even just be willing to listen to their voices, and have amazing success.

Memory time pizza in Indiana got the gays riled up and got boycotted. A year or so later they sold the store for $800m
Libs of tik tok pissed off the groomers and increased subscribers by 25-30%. Also closed a lucrative deal with Babylon Bee
A family Bakery in Oberlin on got accused of racism and is now $40mm richer.
There's other similar examples.
Getting boycotted or protested by gays, crossdressers and others seems to be a consistently great way to grow a business.
Disney represents a reverse effect. They just lost an incredibly sweet deal putting them outside most Florida law. It took a week from the idea being floated and enacted into law.
Exxon seems to have noticed. No more BLM or groomer flags allowed.

Be fair. The Left hates normal America as well.
It's the "Streisand effect." The converse is woke comedians alienating half of their potential audience. Carson and Leno knew better. Craig Ferguson was also very good and apolitical as far as I could tell, and it's probably why he was pushed out by network brass who put politics over profit. Kimmel, Colbert, Fallon are unwatchable.
It's surprising (or not?) that so many of these successful enterprises (I'm including late-night talk-show hosts in that category) don't seem to appreciate (or don't care) that their public and intentionally obvious steps toward woke-y virtuous signaling are disturbing to a great part of their consumer market. They are committing a sort of entertainment hari-kari. ...especially stupid when their competition for entertainment eyeballs/ears is now ubiquitous via digital sources (and accessible on demand, which is a huge convenience factor.)
In a somewhat similar vein, this morning Jonathan Turley points out that Wikipedia (once scorned as a legitimate research source, but... used at one time or another by 'most everyone?) is setting down that same road to self-directed oblivion. There is a phrase known to legal practitioners that describes the easy attrition of trust: Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus. -- False in one thing; false in everything. Who would now trust WikiPee to accurately represent the current knowledge on anything the least bit controversial?

But many interpret it as an accurate observation, especially those that put it into practice with direct action. Proctor & Gamble and their $8 billion write-down? The Oscars? The Olympics? Atlanta and the All-Star game? It would seem pretty obvious that when you offend half of the normal people by elevating the importance of a small percentage of objectionable nutty people, that the Normies may decide to object - leaving your business with half of its clientele remaining, plus a few assorted nutty people.
Here in Alabama college football is king. Alabama rules, of course, but there are a large and passionate Auburn following.

The law says that the 6 companies that got "improvement Districts" before 1968 have to reapply to keep their districts, and if their reapplication isn't accepted by June 1, 2023, THEN they lose their IDs

John Stewart brilliant? His new show suggests that he relied heavily on his writers in the past.
People used to find that "Banned in Boston" helped sell their books and radio shows - and it still does. Now it's called "Wokie Banned" and it's streaming services that are getting a ratings boost. But it's still banning, still centered in Boston and still a big boost everywhere else.
Jon Stewart is a liberal, but he had a clever way of playing down some of the craziness of the left. As such, I don't trust his honesty level, he's certainly no Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan, IMHO, is a liberal who's still questioning their hard held truths. He asks questions that need to be asked and doesn't allow them, for the most part, to weasel out of the answer. Stewart, at least when I watched him, had a way of questioning conservatives and a different way of questioning liberals. He was always trying to make conservatives look dumb, but allowed liberals to slide around the obvious truth.
