wild chicken said...: I'm losing my eyesight and may soon be unable to read. So I'm trying to get into audio books and bought Zuckerman Unbound, performed by some actor. Feh, he hammed it up too much.

Then I heard ten minutes of Philip Roth reading from an early book of his. He was fabulous. I'd give anything to hear him read sn entire work. Too late now!

They say authors aren't good at reading themselves but I say BS.

From the classic canon, highlights for me were (1) a go-go rock version of "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight" and (2) a barn-burning rocked-up version of "Gotta Serve Somebody." Zelensky had over 8 trimesters to offer reconciliation remediation to Ukrainians affected by the Spring, and seems obstinate to not only progress the war, but use Western military weapons and technology (NATO by way of Afghanistan?) to purse redistributive (e.g. natural resources a la South Africa) and retributive (e.g. wealth a la America) change. I know we don't like this service but there's ways to get Siri to look up stuff and to take notes and call people

"Sixty-six percent of Americans are worried about global warming. Among moms, that number is even higher.

“We know that climate change is a threat to all people, and in particular our kids,” says Melissa Burt.

Burt has a young daughter and she’s a climate scientist at Colorado State University. She says that although many moms are worried about global warming, many do not feel equipped to take action.

“They don’t have the resources to understand the climate issue completely and aren’t sure what they can actually do to tackle it,” she says.

So Burt and a group of other women scientists teamed up to create a campaign called Science Moms.

“Moms tend to trust other moms, and we as scientists want to be that credible neutral messenger … to educate moms, to inspire moms, and really empower them to use their voices,” she says.

On its website, the Science Moms group provides short videos, debunks climate myths and offers ways to get involved. For example, it includes a sample letter to send to a member of Congress.

Burt says the website is designed for moms.

Since you missed the point again, let me help you out. The senile POTUS told troops that they were going to the Ukraine. They aren't of course, as not even Biden's handlers are stupid enough to get involved in a shooting war with another nuclear power. Last July I lost the majority of my sight in my left eye.
The specialist diagnosed me w/NAION. My optic nerve stroked out and is “mostly dead”. I still can “see” out of it, but I wouldn’t be able to read or drive. It’s like seeing through a frosted window- very sparkly- and when my eyes are closed, the slightest sound causes that one to flash. Very weird, but kinda cool. It could happen to my right eye, as well. Life is quite the poker game.

I’m lucky to get Althouse on my iPhone.

The specialist did say, in reviewing my CT- that I had a beautiful brain. I told him that was the nicest thing anyone has ever told me- lol.

Jordan Peterson reads his books. I was thinking of getting his audio b/c I don’t mind listening to him- I don’t mind his distinctive voice.; 3/26/22, 12:24 PM

Annoying. Sadly, the CT specialist never complimented my brain. 😞 He also scanned my eyeballs. Told me to not move my eyes. Which, of course, made me want to move my eyes the whole time. The Democrat governors shut down their states for "two weeks to flatten the curve" then refused to let all businesses reopen. One of my favorite restaurants, Snuffies (I-5 and US-20) was forced to shut because they had the audacity to continue operating while King Jay Inslee of Washington said no.

It was the Democrat Congress that then double downed and spent another $2T on "infrastructure."

The Democrats increased the money supply by 25% in a year's time. Of course we're having inflation. Two Scoops dissed Milton Friedman; Friedman is laughing from Heaven at Ol' Two Scoops now while Two Scoops flounders and his handlers have no ideas on how to do anything right.
