I read a comment on the WSJ, where someone "explained" to me, that
a) There was NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT with Russian Nukes, because:
b) A Russian use of Nuclear devices would result in immediate American Massive Retaliation

Personally, *i* think, that IF the Russians used Nukes in the Ukraine, that Jo Biden's response would be to poop himself (more than usual), and abandon the Ukraine.
Apparently MANY people think the Americans would GLADLY commit Global Suicide instead.

This guy is more black pilled than I am on Ukraine He makes some solid points, and one is that the same laser pointer tactics the Democrats use are sort of working for Republicans right now, especially those who watch Hannity, but they are turning off a lot of their voters.
I am not cheering on the Russians here, I am saying that this war is lost and we should not get dragged into it by heart-tugging propaganda. I was tricked by such propaganda into supporting the Iraq War and I know its power, it's not the power to make you think clearly. Saying that we should have stayed out of Iraq is not to cheer on Saddam Hussein. It is going to be all the world can do to deal with the coming famines, but I wouldn't worry too much, the media won't report much on that massive screwup by Biden unless they can find a remotely plausible way to blame it on Trump. WWIII is not a wise choice.

1) Putin instructed his minions to call this a "special military operation" instead of a war? Did you not get the memo?
2) Which metric indicates the special military operation is lost and by whom?
3) Which of Putin's special military operation objectives have been achieved? Have any not been achieved?
4) Which "we" get to decide the conditions which require Ukraine's surrender? Does Ukraine get a vote?
5) Have "we" thought to discuss these surrender conditions with the internationally recognized government of Ukraine? If not, should you travel to Kyiv and explain it to Zelenski?
6) How do you consistently compare and contrast the Russian special military operation in Ukraine with the US special military operation in Iraq while denigrating one but not the other?
7) Which specific acts taken by the US and/or NATO qualify for "dragging us into" this special military operation?
8) Are you embarrassed that you are from a state whose motto is "Live Free or Die?" Should you move to a state with a less neocon motto, or is that just another intellectual rationalization required for you to support Putin?

Not the whole Ukraine, only the western part. For exact territorial divisions look for history maps.

The borders of the Ukraine. The 21st C version of the Schleswig-Holstein Question in 1860, about which it was said that only three people in the world understood it. One was dead, one was insane, and the other refused to talk about it.
Ukrainian speakers were spread all over the area in 1919, with the majority being under Russian dominance since the 18th-19th C. Those in the western areas were relatively better off than those in the east (the broad Euro pattern) and some had lived in relatively liberal Habsburgia.
After WW I most of the western Ukes ended up in Poland, not the short-lived independent Ukraine.
In the Russian Imperial armies Ukrainians tended to be overrepresented in the lower ranks, and as late as the 1970s that was still true to some extent (if the studies were to be believed). It was compared to the US Army and Southerners, and for some of the same reasons.
In 1941-1945 one of the fracture points of the Red Army was ethnic distrust, and in particular Ukrainians and Central Asians (read Muslims) were scapegoated for a lot of failures and shortcomings.
